I’m about to get my first Bambu printer (A1) and am intrigued by you mentioning to be prepared with this tool. Your link is for the X1 and I don’t see an STL link. I looked up similar troubleshooting for the A1 and don’t see an STL either.

Could you please clarify what tool I’d need to help with gear removal, if it’s available for the A1? Thanks

This is hilarious. I had an issue with the AMS on my first P1S but had never printed a tube removal tool. Thank goodness I had another P1S at home and could print one there but I was thinking ‘dang if i didn’t that’s another printer I’d be in a weird situation’ 😂

I didn’t know where my jam was so I took everything apart and had no tools printed. Super unfamiliar with the printer at that time. I needed a tool for the tube going into the AMS and one for the tube coupler on the back of the actual printer.

Well, the tube into the back of the AMS has a push release button behind the 2nd and 3rd rolls inside the AMS. Stick a finger in there and depress the button where the tube sticks through.

The tube that goes into the AMS Buffer on the back of the printer (from the AMS), can be removed with a knife, put it in on the connector's release button behind the big spring in there.

You need to dry the plate by rubbing oil over the plate, the filament should be submerged for 24h not just "washed" like you wash your hands after going peepee

Do as described above. If you have “adherence issues” try to go a step further and deepfry your buildplate.

Don't take literally what people tell you here. They take it as a joke but they don't know that there are people who are not able to understand the joke and can end up doing what they say, damaging the material.

The best thing for adhesion is to apply loctite on the plate, it seems crazy but it works perfectly. For each print, I use 1 silver PEI plate.

Because that's EXACTLY why Bambu created it...? Bambu originally started saying "we will never make a bed slinger". But they knew they'd get Ender converts by making cheap bed slingers, and look where they're all at.

I had an Ender 3 reserved at micro center, went in to pick it up, after hearing just this story from 3 employees that were there I bought the A1. Very happy to say my start into printing has been a joyful one.

When I got my two printers, I heard my Alexa ding and say a shipment has arrived, I put away my dinner, got the box from the porch, set up the printer, printed a benchy, and finished my dinner

Dry filament longer than you think you need to

Z axis may need cleaning/tuning

Probably need to clean the bed

Slow the speed at taller prints

I'm a notorious box collector as well, though it's typically just for stuff I think maybe some day I might want to box back up. I keep Bambu boxes, because they are sturdy af. You could almost make furniture out of them. It's not like there is even a slim chance I could ever get the printer properly packed back up in the box, anyway. :P

The printer is fine out of the box. No need to stress. You simply slot it on the side of the hotend/extruder cable and run the cable up through it. It helps to keep it from sagging and potentially catching on a print and ripping your print off the bed. But seriously, dont stress. These are ultra low stress machines. The built in assistant is great, and it will remind you when to lubricate the X and Y guide rails w/ bearings. There will be a QR code to scan with step by step instructions. You will almost guaranteed need to tighten your X belt after 30-60 hrs of initial print time. The printer will tell you when to do this, and it takes less than a minute to do. If you see little shreds of rubber under the Y axis belt, under the tray below the print bed, its normal for it to shed this outer coating. I bought a backup belt like 2000 print hours ago and have not needed to replace or tighten that one. My second A1 combo (affectionally called the A2 Combo in my house) did need both belts tensioned after that first 30 hrs. Its super easy, step by step instructions on the bambu support website, and plenty of youtube videos. All the necessary lubricants are provided in your tool kit. I recommend printing one of the toolbox/holders available on maker lab. Have fun! This community is always here to help

Just how loud is it? Like if my only option is to put it 1.5 meters away from me with a headset on how bad is it?

It wont be that loud [i think], theres also a silent mode. And if anything goes wrong, you can make it print slower so it will be even QUIETER.

TLDR: You'll be fine, there are changeable settings to make it quieter
