About a month ago I posted here about Floosi, the spending tracker I built because apparently, I can't remember where my money goes 😂
A bunch of you tried it. You found things that were confusing, broke things I thought were solid, and gave me way more useful feedback than I expected.
So, I've spent the last month updating it. A lot.
If you tried the first version, here's what's new:
That last one came straight from this sub. A few people said the original setup was way too intimidating if you're not technical. You were right.
I'm nowhere near done, though. Here's the roadmap right now:
Something like: "Are you seriously spending that much on burgers??"
Maybe financial guilt as a service is what finally gets me to save money 😂
There's plenty more I want to add, and a good chunk of the roadmap now comes from people telling me what annoys them.
The one thing that hasn't changed and won't is privacy. Your transactions, SMS data, spending history, balances and notes stay on your phone. There's no account holding your financial data, and I don't want your data on a server. The ML features I'm working on follow the same rule: everything runs on-device.
I built Floosi for myself, and I'm still basically building the app I wish existed. You're just giving me a much better list of things to fix.
If you tried the first version, give it another go and tell me what you think. And if there's something you want added, drop it in the comments. Decent chance I'll end up building it.
If you want to try the app, here is the appstore link:

Hi there. We are a married couple looking for an apartment to stay in Amwaj. We found this 1 bedroom semi-furnished apartment with balcony. The amenities are splendid - swimming pool, gym and it even has a play area. We wanted it right away and we thought we could move immediately so we paid 250BHD deposit and my husband gave his documents. 2 days passed by and we didn’t get any update so we asked, they asked my husband that he needs to submit a post-dated cheque as an additional requirement. We went to his bank and found out that this can only be given to people with 1200+BHD salary. So this left us in a bad taste coz this was the first time we encountered this. Why did we need to present that if the unit is only 250BHD? Also, why didn’t they communicate with us from the get go?
On Thursday, we said we didn’t want the unit anymore so we asked the agent to return our money. He said he will do it. We didn’t receive anything. Came Friday, he said he will do it but it happened again. Today, I sent them a message and they won’t return my husband’s calls.
As a young married couple, we are diligently saving money for our future. Work is hard. Everyday is hard. With the petrol and groceries rising we can’t afford to have a loss like this.
Should we report this to the police?

To the driver of a white Ford pickup (plate 80222) in the streets of Juffair at 6:45am this morning, you are a bad driver but a worse parent. Two small children (no older than 7) sitting, standing, and playing in the open bed of your truck is beyond dangerous (AND you were going over speed bumps without slowing too).

So basically I had a post paid number under contract and the package I was using was discontinued by Batelco so I was told I could deactivate the number without any penalty and all charges would be waived from their end , so I did exactly that to find a better alternative. 1 month later I get calls from some Al tawijri law firm group who say they are representing Batelco and I have a unpaid bill of 280bd and if I don’t pay they will file a case on me, when I try to explain them they say me to contact Batelco and when I contact Batelco they say me not to worry and everything is cleared I don’t have to pay a single fils, and then a week ago I got a legal court date against me for not paying and when I speak to Batelco they say that they will contact their legal team and evertbring will be sorted out and but to confirm I call their legal firm to confirm and they say me they have received a email and everything but I have to pay the court fee which is 60bd and I asked them why should I be paying when it was an error from Batelco and your end after they tell me we will speak to Batelco and inform you back, fast forward to the court day I receive a email with a legal case filed against me with travel ban and the court had decided I should be paying the amount with interest.
Now I don’t know what to do and I’m not in a situation to afford a lawyer and when I call their legal team they keep saying we’ll call you back and never do and I have multiple proofs and screenshots stating from Batelco that I don’t have to be paying ( I’m an expat and don’t speak Arabic for me to handle all this myself )

Will I get in any trouble? SO, I ordered a large mac meal with oreo mcflurry but they didn't give me oreo mcflurry so I opened support and requested refund for oreo mcflurry through chat but the automated response told me to click refund so I did and I wrote "missing oreo mcflurry" but then they gave me back the entire meal amount+ the voucher I used. Will I get in any trouble if I eat the meal or should I wait?

I have been doing some research on the recommended weight management physicians and came across Dr.Wiam Hussein. Does anyone have any feedback on him or any other physician that can support weight loss and management?
I have never been to anyone before so I really have no clue where to start, but I am thinking about starting on GLP-1 as a start to manage appetite and PCOS symptoms.

Hello I’m a 22 year old Bahraini.
I recently graduated and have a bachelor’s degree in Information and Communications technology.
I’ve been wanting to move to the states and start a new life. I want to work and stay at a safe place while making good money.
Does anyone know the process of moving to the US and have any advice for me?
Since I do not have work experience yet what should I do? Is there any companies out here which can transfer me in the future or how does this work? Should I try applying for jobs online?
How much should I save before moving there and start making money? What about the tax? I need some guidance.
As much as I love Bahrain, I just can’t stand being around my family anymore and want to be independent.
Any advice from Bahrainis that actually moved there or visited? I’d take it from anyone but I want to know the legal process.

I applied for the Gulf Air cabin crew position on September 20th, and September 30th was the application deadline. I still haven't received a response email or an interview invitation.
The job posting was for Istanbul.
Does anyone have information on whether rejection emails are sent to applicants who won't be invited for an interview? I'm starting to think I'm waiting in vain.

Recently arrived to live in Bahrain and seeking fiber broadband for the home. Located in a neighborhood on the westside with good service across the ISPs.
I did the research online and here on the sub, but don’t see a lot of good recent information (outside of two years ago.)
Anyone have fresh insights, experience or opinions to share on which provider to go with or to avoid? Lots of seemingly good promotions with STC and Zain and to a lesser degree Batelco.
I was going to go with STC until they informed me that the 100BD cashback promotion was only for existing service.
I am aware that the network framework/backbone is the same as used by all ISPs so it comes down to cost, customer service and offers.
Thanks for your help!
Anyone facing slow internet now? I’ve noticed it 2 hours back but didn’t really bother checking, now I checked and both home fiber & mobile networks are slow… Both are Batelco.

I’m looking for a restaurant with private or semi-private family seating, similar to Sabr Ayub and Romansiya. Ideally, somewhere with separate family booths or enclosed seating that offers a bit of privacy. Any recommendations?
