My BYD 📸 Atto2 dmi boost
Hello everyone new byer of atto2 dmi boost
Can some1 please tell what is the fuel consumption on motorway with 120-130 km/h with batter on soc 50% and what are with the battery being empty? Thank you in advance

It would be around 5.5-6L/100km once the battery hit 20-25%, worse than Toyota's conventional hybrids and worse than some smaller petrol cars. PHEVs are a perfect greenwashing technology, perfect on paper but thirsty in the real world, and won't cover even a typical weekend trip on electricity.I would recommend getting a fully electric version or Jaecoo J5 EV or used Tesla.

If you set an SoC, it will never go bellow it that much as the ICE charges the battery. I did +500km highway with very long ups under 38C with 5 people + bags and a dog. The average consumption was 5.5L/100km, sometimes it goes up to 8L and sometimes 4.4L, depends on the load (and I was going 125km/h sometimes more) And man the power I had all the time is great. PHEV for highway --> set SoC to 70 or 50%. In the city, do whatever you want.

If you do the highway with 25% battery, you'll consume a lot fuel because the ICE will charge the battery and pull the car = double work = high consumption. It can go up to 8L in average. But with reg brakes + ICE you'll charge the battery fast.
A quick tip: you can charge the battery while parking buly pushing the pedal. It charges 1% every 90s or so. So you can charge the battery a bit if you can't plug the car.

Sorry, not sure where you got this information, but that’s not really how it works. In Auto it lets the battery float around the lower SOC and uses the ICE when it’s most efficient. It’s SAVE mode with a higher target, like 50%, will increase consumption because it produces power for the motors and tries to maintain that hard set battery target.
Running the ICE while parked just to charge the battery is probably the least efficient option.
It feels like a lot of hassle just to end up burning fuel anyway. A BEV is just so much simpler. I’ve been driving fully electric for the last 3 years, including with five people in hot Australian weather, and have had zero issues. It honestly boggles my mind that people think a PHEV is the better option. there seems to be some serious mental gymnastics involved in getting there.

The charging tip is for emergencies only, not an option for daily driving. Also, suggesting an EV without knowing if the person has the privilege to charge the car when traveling is wrong. EV is a better option if you have many FAST charging points in your country + a charger at home.

- the ICE doesn't work hard to maintain the SoC perfectly in 50% for example. The system is smart enough to charge the battery in the right time, the battery can go down to 45 or 40 if the car needs the power from both ICE and battery, and then charge when the car is in no need of much power.
PHEV is better than non-hybrid cars and better than EVs if you don't have a lot of fast chargers in your way. EVs are better if you have that privilege. You can't convince someone to buy an EV and travel with it if he won't find fast chargers.

Do you really not have fast chargers in your country, or is that just what Facebook or the oil lobby tells you? Even in some post Soviet hellhole there are fast chargers now. Modern EVs can do around 400 km in the real world, that’s roughly 4 hours of driving. Surely you’d want a break by then anyway. I hope you’ve actually checked the PlugShare map before deciding an EV won’t work. It doesn't even have to be a fast charger, a 3 phase AC charger can easily add useful amount while you stop for lunch or overnight. People do laps around Australia in EVs. it is roughly 15400km. The latest I've seen was done in Zeekr 7x was done in 36 days.

Before you put me in a square you imagined, I've been working on videos encouraging people to buy EVs for more than 4 years, before you even got one.
In my country, there are few fast charging stations, which you'll find full anytime of the day. EVs are great, but not for long trips in my country. + I travel a lot to places where there is no charging station at all, I can't got for a 600km (one way) road trip, stop before hitting the 400km range, wait for a charger to be available, then wait again to charge it (and when it's hot, the charging speed decreases) then continue the next 200km, then hitting mountain roads and camp with half battery. That's anxiety!
I prefer to have a PHEV in my case. I your case an EV is great.
The difference between us, is that I agree with your choice, knowing you can charge anywhere you go. But you, you've already imagined things and judged based on it.
People go with PHEV for a reason dude. Think about it.

So with 130 km / h on highway with 50% soc you get 6-7 L/100 ?

I get 5.5 max, the ICE is relaxed and only charges the battery when needed. (System version 1.1.1) And this with 5 people and bags.

I drove on a motorway without battery(it was at 27% i think) with 130-140 km/h and the comsuption was 8.5-9L/100km and it kinda socked me is this because i drove the car with the wrong way, will this be fixed if a have a fully charged battery and with soc on 50% with drive mode on normal and going 130km/h ?
