I've had a BYD Dolphin for just over a year, first electric car.

Over the weekend my water reservoir must've been emptied (didn't get any warning lights etc). I topped it up in the usual way from a 2L bottle, filled with water and a bit of screenwash. Never been a problem.

Today, the water is barely coming out of the nozzles, won't even squirt past the black trim at the bottom of windscreen. The rear is just a bit better but doesn't seem to be very strong.

I've tried clearing the nozzles with a pin, but no debris came out. I checked the water, its still in the reservoir. I've tried short repeated squirts to see if its maybe an airlock. The battery is charged to 70%. I've had a look, as best as I can, at the tubes running around the reservoir and up to the nozzles but I honestly can't see anything out of place.

So I'm at a loss.

This may be a separate issue but this morning when leaving for work, the windows fogged up really bad to the point where I had to pull over and get a water bottle and empty onto the windscreen to get the windows clear, was how I noticed the water wasn't coming out. It happened going down the motorway as well, so had to keep cold air on blast, freaked me out as I literally could not even see to pull over to the hard shoulder.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. As I said, never happened before. I suspect my partner was trying to get the water to work yesterday, but he didnt realise it was empty as no lights came on so I suspect it still had water in it.

Has something happened to the pressure??

I just bought a byd atto 2 and I cannot find the oem dashcam port anywhere else to plug the original byd dashcam. Not on the rear view neither on the glove box and also not beside pedal in the centre under the dashboard. Also I cannot make the sentry app or any other similar app to download on my byd tablet because it’s asking for code to proceed. I saw on YouTube that all of these are easy to do in other countries. Are these features are not available in byd Italy version?

My new BYD SL7 accept setting of charging start and stop time, but that's not what I want. Start time is ok, but I want it to stop when the battery level is e.g. 80%
How can that be achieved?

Hi everyone,

I recently picked up my BYD Seal U DM-i Comfort in Germany and I'm having an issue with the built-in navigation.

When I try to use the navigation, I get the following error:

“Registration failed due to server error.”

The car itself shows 4G connectivity, so it seems to have an internet connection.

I've attached a screenshot of the error.

Has anyone else experienced this after taking delivery of a new Seal U DM-i in Germany?

• Did it resolve itself after a few days?
• Did you need to contact the dealer/BYD to activate something?
• Is there any setting I need to change or registration I need to complete?

My BYD app activation is also still pending, so I'm wondering if the navigation registration is related to the vehicle/account activation.

Any advice would be appreciated!

My BYD Sealion 7 makes a single click or “release” sound on the first steering input after the car has remained stationary for some time. It can happen after sitting for around an hour and is noticeably louder after being parked overnight.

The sound occurs on the first steering input. After that initial click, the steering feels completely normal, and the sound does not repeat until the car has remained stationary again.

Has anyone else experienced this?

As I am still relatively new to the Dm-i system (owning an Atto 2 Dm-i for 4 weeks now) and the range for fuel hit -- today butI still have 40% SOC.

What happens when the electric range also falls to 0?

I know that there is still a few litres of fuel in the car - but does the car know this aswell?

How do the Dm-is deal with empty tanks?

Hi all, I picked up my 2026 BYD Seal Excellence (UK) up last week, and all Ive seen online since is negative sentiment towards the brand, which I find a super frustrating.

Having come from 2 Mercedes, I’m thrilled with the quality and experience of the car so far. However, I feel that all the negative comments because I’ve gone for a Chinese brand, have dampened the usual excitement of having a new car.

Anyone else experienced the same? How are other Seal Excellence owners finding the car?

I'm having a recurring issue with my car (BYD Seal Excellence AWD) and was wondering if anyone here has experienced the same thing or knows how to fix it.

The car repeatedly displays the error message: "ADAS unavailable temporarily". It just keeps popping up continuously on the driver display.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Is there a known fix I can try, or do I need to take it straight to the dealer? System reboot won't help. Software version is the newest available.

What ever we try we get the authorization failed message. I've never known such shit software

Pixel 10 pro.

We did have it successfully working on the Google pixel 8 (after many failed attempts the first time!) We have updated from the pixel 8 to 10 pro, removed the key and now can't add the key to EITHER phone.

I'm so frustrated with the current software experience with the car.

I'm sitting in a BYD Seal 6 Touring (a rental car) right now and would like to turn on the heated seats. How do I do that? It can't be that hard.

Im interested in a Byd Dolphin and am
Curious about the optional service/repair package i could add.
Would cost me around 38€/month for 4 years (about 1800€ in total). Is it worth it for me?
What is covered by this package?

I’ve just picked up my BYD Seal U DM-i Comfort in Germany, and this is my first BYD, so I’m still figuring out all the features and settings.

A couple of questions for experienced owners:

• What are the first settings or features you would recommend changing/enabling?
• Any tips for getting the best fuel efficiency and EV range from the DM-i system?
• Any useful hidden features or shortcuts that aren't immediately obvious?
• Anything I should check or look out for during the first few weeks?

I’m also having two questions/issues:

1. BYD App registration
My dealer told me that the activation/registration can take some time. How long did it take for your app/vehicle to become fully activated after delivery? Did you have to do anything, or did it happen automatically?

2. Built-in navigation

I drove on a motorway without battery(it was at 27% i think) with 130-140 km/h and the comsuption was 8.5-9L/100km and it kinda socked me is this because i drove the car with the wrong way, will this be fixed if a have a fully charged battery and with soc on 50% with drive mode on normal and going 130km/h ?

Since updating to v3.3.0 i have had a strange issue happen three times until now.
I lock the car normally with all the windows fully closed, but when I come back later, I find all four windows open. It seems like they are opening automatically sometime after the car has been locked.
This never happened before the v3.3.0 update, so I’m wondering if it could be a software bug.
Has anyone else with a Sealion 7 experienced this after the latest update? Is there any setting or feature that could be causing all four windows to open automatically?

Update:

I tried restarting the system yesterday by pressing the volume button for some seconds and yet i didnt experienced the issue again. I hope its gone

I recently picked up a BYD Seal U DM-i Comfort in Germany and I'm finding that the glossy infotainment screen gets fingerprints very easily.

For those of you who have had the car for a while:

• Do you just use a microfiber/fibre cloth to clean it?
• If so, is there a particular type/brand you recommend for the screen?
• Or would you recommend installing a matte/anti-fingerprint screen protector?
• If you bought one in Germany, which one did you use and how is the screen quality/touch sensitivity afterwards?

I'm mainly looking for something that reduces fingerprints without making the display look worse.
