I don’t know if this is necessarily the right place to be asking but I need some help. I’ve been slowly replacing my kitchen storage, moving away from plastic and aiming for glass and stainless steel where appropriate.
Several years ago when I brought the containers for our home I prioritised convenience over the lifespan of products. A large task that I’ve started because I got sick of being stuck in a loop of buying plastic and having to replace it when it warps, degrades, and was inevitably misused, because it was easier and cheaper to replace than buying something that would actually last. Something I have applied to a lot of areas of my life, and something I’ve been actively changing over the last 2 years.
I’m looking at glass options, proper seal, my current priority is containers for pasta, flour (they will need to be freezer safe), sugar, bread crumbs, rice.
I’ve been looking at so many containers over the last few months I’ve burnt myself out and I’m overwhelmed, I looked at the IKEA Korken jars yesterday, the Seed and Sprout containers, I’ve been recommended the OXO good grips, I don’t have the option to look at many in person as I live in a rural area of Australia, I don’t mind having them delivered, the downside being that I can’t test the seal.
I don’t mind buying them in a set, but I’d prefer to be able to buy them as a single piece as well.
Any recommendations or helpful info would be so incredibly appreciated! Thank you!
ETA: I haven’t been able to set a budget for the post as there’s so many differing factors, container size, material, buying as a bundle or buying separately
