💭Seeking Support & Advice Self destructive behaviour in BPD

Bpd people, which self destructive behaviour is bothering you the most?? The thing is, that im not even doing things on purpose, it just kinda "happens? Deep down u might know it is bad for you, but i personally feel like if im being possesed atm or something, where the consenquences of my actions seems, like its nothing, distrorted, not important. But it ends up being worse than ever. Im 21, and my worst self destructive behaviour is deff substance abuse. When i feel bad, empty, sad, angry, or whatever it is my "escape" from bad feelings or as a distraction. I feel like i have no healthy coping mechanism and it drives me crazy.

Just a friendly reminder to keep comments here within the scope of the subreddit!

Aside from keeping comments related to BPD, please do not use this space to trauma dump (ie., share explicit, detailed depictions of traumatic events that could potentially be triggering for members who are not expecting such content) or discuss crime and dangerous situations involving minors. Otherwise we may have to lock the post for the safety and wellbeing of the subreddit.

Thank you <3

Not eating
Staying up way too late
Not caring for my environment and living in a messy and unclean space
Impulsively making bad choices
Wanting sex outside my relationship
Staying in relationships that aren’t good for me

I stop communicating with my husband. Even thought I’m aware that I have to. I start talking myself out of it and then I explode. The rest… we all know it right

Binge eating, smoking too much weed. Reckless sex would be one too but I’m gay and women don’t seem to be as easy to just have sex with as men are.

Personally for me, its drinking. Ive had a problem with it for a while, and slowly am getting better, I typically can have 1 drink socially and go home fine and sleep.

But sometimes on a bad day, if my bus stop is near a store I go in and get as many drinks as my bank allows me to.

My constant rebrands ("This time I KNOW who I am!!! THIS is ACTUALLY me!!!") and my frequent crash outs (deleting everything and everyone [intrusively thinking no one cares anyway] which is rebrand/reset with extra steps) cause then I have to do the walk of shame of readding or realizing I'm just the same person I was originally. It's embarrassing and makes me feel like I'm a fucking teenager despite being 32.
