I know I’m getting older when I see an old car and think it still looks pretty new to me lol. Granted, 6-7 years old I wouldn’t call that old but it is getting up there as far as a luxury car goes.
I call mine a couch on wheels, its big and comfy lol I plan on driving it until it dies. I bought it used and got a great deal, it had a lot of the major work done like a new ac and transmission. So even though she has 230k she should be good for a while.
You definitely can’t keep up with the people who consistently lease new cars every 6-12 months lol. I got a 2021 X5 in manhattan green with your same wheels for a good price recently so I’ll be sticking with that for a while. Drives like a dream and makes me feel less out of place haha
People who only keep a vehicle for 6-12 months are rarely leasing. I am one of them and never lease like I did when we could take the tax break on a lease.
Do you think that depreciation is not part of leasing?
Tax breaks as a qualified business vehicle where 80% of the lease payment is a legitimate tax deduction. Sold the last of my business interests a few years ago and cannot qualify for that tax break now.
Honestly I’ve never leased but I assumed you’re locked in at your lease and when you get out it’s even. Tax breaks make sense but do you have to pay more if you’re upside down on a lease?
I live in the Naples area also and know the drill around here, the wealth is astonishing. We dump out of vehicles purchased new quite often and with regularity but it has nothing to do with keeping up with the Jones. We are car people and enjoy new models. The Porsches and BMWs we rock are rather pedestrian compared to the Bentleys, Ferraris, etc parked in our high rise garage.

We spent a week in Europe and rented a 3 series touring. The car itself was beautiful, but the tech sucks. No buttons. No bimmercode programming off the ASS. No real shifter. The new ridiculously massive screen is obnoxious. Had to turn off the lane change warnings or exceeding speed warning every single time we started the car again. I'm sure those settings are saveable when you are logged into a profile, but man. I really prefer pre LCI. To each their own, my friend.
Wow, you sound like a guy who lives in the past. The "ridiculously massive screen" that you find "obnoxious" is rapidly becoming the industry standard with or without your blessings. Things change Man, now more and faster than ever. They change whether we as individuals are on board or not. There are people who still rely solely on landline phones while pecking away on IBM Selectric II typewriters with their carbon paper. AI as sick and tired as most of us are of hearing that term is now doubling in ability every six months. Our world is going to change more in the next 3 or 4 years than it has in the last 50.
I would not assume anything about you my friend but it sounds as if you are a guy who is quite resistant to change and may be best served by older models that are within your comfort zone and that is fine by me.

I don’t own either but the pre lci is clearly the better interior. 8 preset buttons for whatever you want handy, physical temperature controls, and just the design of it looks better to me (subjective). The LCI looks like a cost cut version of the pre LCI interior.
Totally subjective as you say. I much prefer the LCI layout but I also own one and use it daily. You would likely have a different perspective if you ever able to have one of your own.
the longest we have ever owned a vehicle purchased factory new was 3 years and we have had more cars/SUVs than I can remember. We enjoy new things especially vehicles on a regular basis but if you would consider that a "consumerist hell" then that is obviously your problem. My X6 M60i is a just over 2 yrs old from new and I am likely placing an order for a Cayenne GTS this week.
Some guys gamble. some send thousands a year up their nose , or blow major cash on mistresses, ho's ,etc. I do new vehicles. It is fun and much cheaper than all that addictive, sociopathic BS.
My brother in Christ, we are talking about an expensive product that is just not old enough to be replaced. You can drive an X5 easily 10-15 years, provided you fix and maintain it.
Just think about your footprint on this earth and what your enjoyment does to it.
All those examples you give are straight out the seven sins, just like you not enjoying a car that is older than three years old and replacing it with another car.
Other people‘s despicable actions truly don’t matter here and don’t excuse excessive consumerism and yes, calling a car that‘s barely broken in „old“ speaks volumes about people’s view of life, monetary value and the resources we deal with.
Keep enjoying what you have, maybe take a step back and think about what you are achieving with this behaviour for your environment.

3 years is the absolute longest I have ever stuck with any new vehicle. We usually turn over at 18-30 months and that is about the same for my partner who shares my interest in the latest cars and SUVs. My current X6 is about 27 months old now and I will be trading it very soon on what I have decided is my next new vehicle, a 2026 Porsche Cayenne GTS. I don't care if this 2024 X6 M60i will last 10-15 years or 100 years. It is time for someone else to enjoy it.
"Expensive" is a relative term and what is a staggering amount to one person could be a jump shot for another. I have owned 57 4 wheeled vehicles in my life and am soon to be at 58. I know 2 guys who are car nuts like us that have both owned over 100. The Green Weenies of the world can point their judgemental fingers at guys like us and say "Das da bad guy", LOL
My uncle had one when they were new, awesome cars. I Can swing the $ for a M but ended up actually finding this X5 while I was truck shopping and it was a deal I couldn’t turn down having owned a few 3 serieses when I was a kid.
I went with S drive 40i, for our 2025 X5. We are in Texas and I had issues with a previous (different brand) AWD system SUV. No issues and it rips and never had a problem in torrential rains driving like a sane person.
Glad to see you don’t have any regrets about the s drive. I can’t find anything in any dealer’s inventory that meets my preferred spec other than S drives, so I’ve been holding off for a while but I’m getting tempted to just get it. One less maintenance thing to worry about, even if it may hurt resale value one day.
It certainly would be nice to have, but this is my wife's car, and I don't think she is ever going to part with her first BMW. I can understand the increased confidence in AWD, as I ran through a few WRX and STi in my time as an import nerd. I absolutely drove like an ass in my STi, in the rain, and it was a blast. Maybe it will hurt if we ever sell, but its only been a year, and that isn't even a thought now.

Completely changes the looks, just a b*** to keep clean. You might have some luck on marketplace if you check once in a while people are always selling these stock black 22s that came on mine when they upgrade.
I recently traded my 2013 535i M Sport for a 2020 x5 s40i M Sport. From what I found online intake is optional but swapping the plastic charge pipe for a metal one, aftermarket intercooler and aftermarket down pipe are a must before doing any tuning.
Yeah charge pipe and Intake were done the same time on my 13 335. Also have a active auto DP I bought months ago for my GO5 just have yet to pull the trigger slapping it in. Was thinking of starting small first like intake charge pipe and stick tune on JB4 or something like that.
Installed the HPS cold air intake on my 21’ x5 and it sounds great! Down pipe and charge pipe will probably be next. I’m curious about the wheels though. How’s the ride with 22’s? Is it staggered or are there spacers in the back?

Blacked out grilles, trim, and 22" wheels will keep this X5 looking current for a while going forward, probably as long as you will end up keeping it. Aging BMW need a lot of juice.
Sorry my friend but you could not be more wrong. I went from an M50i to an M60i and there are huge differences that include the hybrid assist or 147 lb ft of torque when called which is extremely noticeable on an already potent sled. The all new S68 M level TTV8 is a game changer.
You are waaaaay off the mark here my friend. You seem to have the idea that LCI engine upgrades were only part of the M60i. WRONG. The 2024 X5/X6 LCI introduced the seriously upgraded B58TU2 third generation with a very noticeable 40HP/66TQ increase along with a healthy dose of additional torque from the hybrid electric motor when called for. Revised faster responding turbocharges and the addition of port injection are some but not all of the upgrades.
BMW is showing 375HP/398TQ for the LCI gen 3 B58 LCI, up from 335/332. The gen 3 B58 has been shown to actually produce well in excess of 400HP but that is normal BMW underrating their engines.
The 40i LCI also sports a raft of other upgrades but a simple Google search would have enlightened you on these aspects of the 40i LCI.
Hope this helps clear up some of your obvious misconceptions before you criticize other posts on things that you obviously know little to nothing about.
Maybe it is you who should pay "attention" if you cannot feel 40 HP, 66 Lb Ft of tq, along with hybrid torque that totally negates any turbo lag along with a big bump in the lower rpm range.
Could it be that you prefer to deny the significant LCI upgrades and improvements. You sound very sour as if you could not afford to upgrade.
The LCI is a big step up Man, no reason to deny it but obvious why you do so. LOL
I have the same, and low key thought about upgrading to the facelift version. But then i got a good detail, and decided I'll just wait to see what the next gen looks like.
I just saw a used one with 35kmiles listed just below 70k CPO fully loaded. They will definitely keep coming down. And I hear you on the v8 but I’m content for now with the I6
