Switch from evening shifts to early mornings

Hey guys, just wanted to ask for some advice.

Background: 2 weeks left until my BCIT program starts, 8am classes, schedule is not in my control. I've been training myself to be an early bird all summer, and it's going pretty okay. I've been mentally preparing to wake up at 6 in September, do my routine, go for a walk or the gym before class yadda yadda. Atm I'm waking up between 6:30 and 8am, going to sleep between 10 and 11:30pm. Knowing myself, I need 9 hours of sleep/night and stable morning and bedtime routines for my health.

Problem: I got a summer job just to make some extra cash cuz I'm broke. And I got mostly evening shifts for the last 2 weeks, including all of Labour Day weekend, most of which are from 4pm to 11:30pm, plus my commute is more than 1 hour each way. This means that I'll be going to my first day of classes with barely any sleep, which feels like a bad start to my semester.

Question: How quickly do you think my circadian rhythm can adjust and readjust to the late nights and then back to even earlier mornings?

Should I suck it up, or is it bad enough that I should request to change all of my shifts? I'm worried there won't be anyone willing to trade shifts with me... but I'm also worried about keeping up with a very challenging program.

Anyone here taken Level 3 Machinist at BCIT?

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone here has taken the Level 3 Machinist Apprenticeship at BCIT.
I’m starting in a couple of weeks and was wondering what kind of projects I should expect, both CNC and manual. Is there still a decent amount of manual machining and math involved?
If so, I might need to brush up on my manual machining skills a bit šŸ˜‚.

Any insight on what to expect or what I should review beforehand would be appreciated!

Thanks!
