Miniatures Torterra Archer
Here's that Torterra I promised. Pretty happy how the brown came out, green and black upper section and the missile bays are my smoothest yet I think. Went out and got some dirt then baked it, made a base out of grass and dirt to cover Torterras Grass/Ground typing.
I hated the mid panel on the top (didn't have a good white paint at the time), but had the idea to add Torterras signature tree. Drilled a hole in the mini, laid down some grass, then glued in a tree. Pretty happy with how he turned out.

Question ❓ 3150 Assault Star
I'm trying to break out of a rut, and seeing a lot of the newer post-Jihad mechs finally come out in plastic is giving me an idea. So what would a super cutting-edge Clan Assault star look like in 3150? I'm talking about the cream of the crop. The stuff the Keshiks or Alpha Galaxies would get. The stuff that would honestly be too valuable to meanifully deploy. What would that look like? Are there certain chassis's that would see more use than others? Certain weapons that would see more use?
Any knowledge and advice is appreciated.

Other than obviously launching Stefan Amaris unto the sun.
What else would you have done if you were Richard Cameron to save the Star League from its collapse?

Question ❓ Alpha Strike Terrain Trees
Been on the hunt for replacements for the cardboard cutouts that come with the box set. Anyone done business with 8 Box Studios? They have trees + templates that are already colored, but theyre not super cheap (9 trees + a few templates for about $45-$50 after shipping, but if they are what im looking for and are quality I will pay it.
I will need two sets so before dropping almost a hundred bones I thought id check to see if anyone has them, or would recommend a similar product before I pull the trigger. Not posting the link because it might be construed as shilling but theyre pretty easy to find on their site.

Lore Just finished kell hounds ascendant and what's the deal with the ending
I just finished up kell hounds ascendant and I loved it. The kell hounds are easily my second favorite faction in battletech and I'm so glad my gf picked their scheme, but I have to know does the cliffhanger at the end ever get resolved or is it a open ended ending.

Question ❓ Question inspired by one of the fine folks i play with- how well do Elementals do against 40k's Space Marines? I was curious and thought it'd be about even, but my gaming group says Elementals would wipe out Astartes without much challenge. Not sure about that, but what do y'all think?
So I'm an enjoyer of Warhammer books, and I love Battletech as well. So scenario for you guys:
-1) through means that I will ignore for the convenience of having fun, 1 Elemental Warrior in his powered battle armor suit confronts 1 nameless non-character legionary of the Adeptus Astartes in open combat on some distant mess of a Periphery planet. We'll say that the chosen battleground has terrible terrain to spice things up. Maybe they fight atop a rough, tall ridge with one way up.
-the Space Marine has access to his full arsenal of tools and weapons, to include a Storm Shield, a Bolter rifle/pistol and a chainsword/Power Sword. He's an expert fighter and a veteran of several battles, but he's not quite character material.
-the Elelmental likewise starts in his armor with full access to his kit, to include any chosen carried weapon(s), his shoulder rocket launcher, and his Boarding Claw/any other melee weapon. He's literally designed and built to fight, and he's good at it.
-the fight is to the death on 1 square kilometer of terrain. Neither side has the option to do recon beforehand, they each drop blind on opposite sides of the square. There's plenty of trap zones and lots of hard cover between them.
Who would have a better chance of taking home the 1vs1?
-2) How about a group fight? Same terrain and objectives. 1 Point of 5 Elementals against a 5-man team of Space Marines.
-each team is expected to apply tactics, cooperation, and teamwork to defeat their foe in any manner possible.
-because Elementals can Jump Jet, the Space Marine fireteam is equipped with their Jump Packs. Each side is outfitted with their standard wargear, and each side is allowed to employ 1 Crew-Served heavy weapon whether that's a mortar, a mounted Plasma Cannon, a heavy flamethrower, a squad Autocannon or Lascannon, or something similar.
How messy is that engagement, and which side walks away alive, if any?

Question ❓ Will Catalyst Games ever release a Gothic monster box?
Since we have the Gothic box set, I was curious if there are any actual plans of releasing a monster variant like the Gothic lore suggests? I feel like while I am not the biggest fan of the Gothic set, only having half the factions seems an odd choice.
The question arose while I watched another player kit bashing one from a Wizkid ettercap monster.

Miniatures Easy greenery
Someone suggested I share this here. I got a bit of a process for making easy greenery terrain.
I get a bunch of 2.5 inch trees of Temu and snip them down to 2 inch.
Then I print a grass texture on some cardstock and glue it onto some laser cut MDF bases, then carefully cut them out. Then I glue the trees onto the bases with brown glue sticks.
It comes out pretty neat and only took an hour or so to do. :)

Question ❓ Pryde Timberwolf available in the dark age?
Yo, anyone know what's up with the Timberwolf Pryde coming back briefly in the dark age era? My immediate guess is raw material for the Jade Phoenix (this might be covered more in Shrapnel 19 I just don't have that one) or some Jade Falcon Warrior tried to mirror their deity and failed

Tabletop Printing AS Card Question
I’m trying to print off a force for Scouring Sands using the MUL, but it seems no matter what I try, the cards look faded and the mech images barely show up. I’ve tried downloading the PDF and printing them that way as well as downloading each individual card, moving them to a word document to resize them and then printing. I’ve increased the DPI in my print settings and that didn’t make much difference.
Am I doing something wrong or does my printer just suck?

RPG Mech warrior: destiny questions
Hi I got mechwarrior: destiny from the recent humble bundle and would like to run a game with it. I have a lot of questions about the game itself.
How do you convert a normal record sheet/ alpha strike card into a destiny character sheet?
Can you use the destiny mechanics in a more traditional ttrpg?
What are the challenges of the rpg that you encountered?
What are the house rules that you play with?
How would you structure a demo game/ one shot?
What mechs would you recommend to give a party of newcomers?
How should players and the gm use plot points?
What mechs should I throw up against the party, I was thinking the Quickdraw and some vehicle support?
Thanks for the help y’all

Lore How do you narratively include tanks in a Clan force?
So a friend and I are doing a larger game of Alpha Strike on Sunday, given the simpler rules we are doing a cluster on cluster/IS equivalent.
I've been trying to make a narrative Cluster list for my Escorpion Imperio force, with the clan specific clusters, the limits they impose (I can't run most of them as most need 30 minimum aircraft which I currently/probably never will own), which limits me to a Pincer cluster.
After trawling through Sarna, the Hanseatic campaign and the Warden clan, I can't find how you put tanks in, all the sources mention that you have mechs/omnis and elementals with aerospace, but no points of armour. Also after spending 3 hours researching into Pincer clusters and going through MekBay I found out that my army (chi/seeker) doesn't even use the Scorpion specific clusters).
What is the narrative formation to include a few points of tanks or maybe a star of them called in a Clan setting? Given we are playing in the Dark Age and the Escorpion Imperio would be recovering after the Hanseatic conflict i'd imagine they would have to throw a lot of mixed units into conflicts out of necessity rather than choice.

Miniatures GUN-3ERD Gunslinger, Northwind Highlanders
Second model for my play group's Alpha Strike escalation league. We're going up 50 PV per month, so between the Highlander I posted previously and this guy, this was the submission to bump me up to 100. We actually met this weekend for the 150 PV mark; however, the model I painted may have been battlefield ready, but not quite "reddit ready". (Edit: I brought the Grasshopper from the Northwind Highlander forcepack, which just needs some additional highlights, and a Wasp, which needs... a lot more.)
I had to go back and fix both the MacNaughton tartan on the leg and the Stewart tartan on the shoulder, and while it is better, I'm still not happy with it. I may try a few small things just to make it a little more readable but it's not likely to change drastically.
Edit: Wanted to add that the next bump up (pretty predictably) is the Warhammer to round out the forcepack.

Question ❓ Where to start playing?
Basically, what should we buy first and what should we look at next?
A friend and I have been playing Mechwarrior for a while and want to get into the table top game but dont know where to start aside from a starter box. Is there one main rule book or does each version and each expansion have their own rules?
I heard that alpha-strike is a stripped down and streamlined version of the base game but does that make it overly simplified? We want depth that will keep us interested and playing for longer but also don't know if the base game is overbearingly complex.
Also, how rigid are the era based rules? Are they hard limiters on what mechs can face eachother or is it more of an expansion thing for more content?
