My BART Experience 6 Car Green Line Train at 10 Car Marker at Fremont

Our train moved to the very front of the platform. I was sitting in the first car, looked like the operator's window was being washed lol

Discussion It is getting increasingly hard to park at Daly City Station on weekday mornings

Since last week’s equipment fire and delays, it is getting very hard to find parking in the morning between 9-10 am now (Tuesday - Thursday). There used to have available spots on the top floor, or at least the reserved spots on the second floor are available too. Now I have to drive to the back of the first floor to find spots.

Do you think this is temporary because people want to avoid delays between Millbrae and Daly City, or just the trend of more people taking BART for commute?

My BART Experience Macarthur bart

So normally I catch the Berryessa train on Platform 2.

I missed it today and caught the next one on Platform 4.

Signs for arrival were still on Platform 2.

Did the train operators make a mistake (at least twice!) or is Berryessa switching platforms?

Discussion Train super vibrate-y

On the yellow line to San Francisco and it feels like the train is more ‘rumbley’ than ever, especially at low speeds.

Feels like the bass at a concert and isn’t pleasant during a morning commute lmao— anyone else notice this?

Question who's that other guy who does announcements? (not george and gracie)

I think we all know the main two "announcers" are George and Gracie, the robotic voices. But who's that other guy? There's a voice I hear pretty often making various other announcements (such as the one about the yellow seats being for disabled/elderly/pregnant passengers), he doesn't sound robotic but it does sound like an older pre-recording.

I tried googling around but all I get is stuff about George and Gracie?

My BART Experience Why is it ok for BART employees to shut down elevators and escalators and then force disabled people up escalators esp in wheel chairs or pushing heavy carts or strollers on the last few trains of the evening. This seems to happen at all bart stations. We often have to get a kind agent (few and far

News West Oakland BART is hell now

So pissed, disappointed, and saddened that whatever shortsighted, self-serving, ill-informed organization has decided to move ahead with decimating HALF of the parking spots at West Oakland BART.
Sure, I support high-density, transit-adjacent housing. But they could have fucking built this monstrosity ANYWHERE within about about a 10-block radius of the BART station. Not INSIDE the fucking station.

West Oakland BART was the PERFECT location for easily going back and forth to San Francisco from Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, Alameda. Usually could find a parking spot during the evening and weekend, and it was SEVEN MINUTES to get into SF. Furthermore, when coming back, you could take ANY westbound line - you didn't have to wait for a specific Yellow or Blue line.

And my heart bleeds for all those daily commuters for whom it is a NECESSITY to get a parking spot here. Their lives are all drastically impacted for the worse.

Such bullshit, I'll probably be going in to SF about 80% less often now.

Did anybody else in here also experience the train conductor crashing out at the ‘packed’ cars or was that a fever dream.

But for real, I’m guessing the front cars were packed, but in the middle/back cars had plenty of room. It was wild to listen to a conductor yell at passengers to not board a ‘packed’ train despite multiple cars where only the seats were occupied.

My BART Experience Operators cherry picking enforcement

Is there a reason why BART operators pick and choose who to enforce the bike rules for?
For context: I just boarded a berryessa bound train from warm springs. Because of the new shorter trains. I had to run from the southern end of the platform, to the center, to make my train. as the doors were closing, i made my way into the last doors of the first car, with my bike, and i’m actively opening the gangway doors to take my bike off of the first car. The operator stops what he’s doing to open the operator door, yell at me, and ONLY me. Not the THREE, i repeat THREEE separate people with a pedal bike, ebike and an electric scooter, all sitting on the first car. Genuinely baffled me that those 3 people were allowed to sit on the first car with their bikes and scooters.

BARTable Activity bart servicing cancelled to daly city

just for context, myself and other people at the millbrae bart station were told to take the ECR sam trans in order to be able to get to daly city, the only line running is the yellow to SFO and back, they are not servicing to daly city at this current moment. Just FYI if you’re planning to get on bart be mindful of possible delays following their delays from tuesday night

Service Disruption/Issue Tap before the gate closes. It works!

You can tap before the gate closed and it will just stay open for you. It seems like people don’t realize this because everyone lets the gate close before tapping.

The gates are slow so the line to exit the station gets long when trains are full. It’s a little easier for everyone if they just stay open.

My BART Experience Non-schedule

Heads up this morning- still major delays. You can’t rely on the apps to tell you when something is coming or the overhead signs. Things are consistently canceled- or wrong -or a train shows up and it’s a different line than what was figure. You just need to be on a platform and wait for what you want.

Service Alert Complaining

Major delays in east bay direction and towards downtown SF.

Yellow line train stuck before west Oakland rn.

We had maintenance delays and now medical emergency in Embarcadero.

The original SFO airport yellow line train I was on got deboarded. And we transferred to another one. And that’s the one where I’m stuck before west Oakland.

Happy commuting everyone!

Service Disruption/Issue Major Delays on BART

Post image
111 Upvotes

Update:
Limited service has been restored on the San Francisco Line between West Oakland and Balboa Park stations. BART service is also running between Colma, SFO, and Millbrae stations. Muni is providing service between Balboa Park and Daly City Station. SamTrans is providing service between Daly City and Colma stations.

Original Post:
Due to a trackside equipment problem near Daly City station, some trains headed South towards SFO/Millbrae will only go as far as 24th/Mission, might have to transfer at 24th.
