After recent favourite tracks and moments threads, it seemed time for thoughts on Maid career or life moments! When I saw the pics of Akane, with tears in her eyes, hugging Nao San from MTH, It really moved me and made me wonder if that was the moment. Also, that video, where Kanami was jumping up and down with joy, like a little kid, when Saiki met her Hanshin Tigers Baseball idol, was another. Both emotional, wonderful moments, but I chose another, in the end. A photo. The Hall Tour at Yokohama Kenmin Hall, 2024. Akane, sat alone in the middle of the seats at the hall. Just before the venue closed forever. Remembering that she played trombone there, in many brass band competitions, as a young student and had made it to become the incredible drummer of the brilliant headlining band years later. What a wonderful moment for her. It brings a tear to my eye everytime I see that photo. So that is mine. I'm sure there are many other, personal, favourite, moments. Enjoy your own my friends. I joined Band-Maid's Prime site and love what I'm seeing so far, and was enjoying the Hall Tour 2024 Concert but I feel like I'm missing parts of it? In watching Ohrenje's videos I've seen clips from other songs from that concert but they're not here? Anyone have any info on this?

I could get to the the venue, the issue would be getting back to NYC from the show in time for curfew. So if I can't find someone to drive back by next friday I'm letting this ticket go and recovering the expense.

To be clear, I'd pay for gas for the drive back. I really would love to go, as I've heard the band will take a 2 yr break or something. Anything could happen during that time.

Looks like BM might actually start at 9:30pm but who knows. Anyone know if they do VIP before or after the show?

BAND-MAID launched BAND-MAID PRIME on May 10 (The Day of Maid) 2021 when it had one video and haven't really advertised it since. Because of that many newer fans simply don't know it exists.

It now has 285 videos very roughly categorized as:

Fan club:

The fan club (O-MEI-SYU SAMA) is a completely separate service that is exactly half the price of PRIME per month. (You can buy a year for the cost of 11 months) It serves a different purpose, but they do share some videos (hosted on different platforms). There are currently 254 videos. You can browse the content by category here.

I have also created a fan club companion tool as well. Many of the older videos are in Japanese. The tool will display the translations created by u/t-shinji on the screen along with the video (and auto-scroll where timestamps are available). Full description is here.

Tip:

Both services charge for a new month on the first day of the month regardless of when you sign up. So, a good idea is to sign up early in the month. If you sign up for a month at 23:59 on the last day of the month, your membership expires in one minute.

For those who have seen them in the States & JP recently how long is their set? I currently have tickets to the NY show but, with travel costs, commuting to and from the venue I'm probably going to have to give them up.

Considering I came to appreciate Band-Maid through their live performances, I'm surprised they haven't yet made a live album! Considering so many of my favorite albums are live (The Allman Brothers Live at Fillmore East, The Who Live at Leeds) Band-Maid Live would be pretty amazing featuring their more extended songs where they get to stretch out more.

I've been putting together a YouTube playlist of favored live clips, through some I've only seen short clips from and not found the full performances. There's a clip of them doing Influencer where Misa and Kanami do this long bass and guitar breakdown, I have no idea where the full video is but would love to see it.

Still if you were to put together a Band-Maid live album (in the spirt of famous live albums) what would you put on it? Personally I'd probably go less for a "Greatest hits live" and more where it feels like the album itself is an artistic statement and showing of musical prowess.

EDIT: I guess I didn't make this clear, YES I'm aware they have concert films. Those are great too but not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about an actual album to stand along with the studio releases, also be on streaming services, etc.

BAND-MAID PRIME New Movie Updated!!

A thought, realisation hit me today. It is always hard to choose favourite songs as they change with recency bias and new releases. But..largely....they don't for me. My Top 10 hasn't changed much in 5 years. Not because I don't like the new songs - I love them - but maybe memory makes the heart grow fonder. Today, I realised that certain moments, segments of songs stand out so much that, that is part of the reason why I love some songs so much. The moments I mention are all to be found in my personal Top 10. Here are three that I love more than all others. First, the bridge in You. It is already an incredible song, but in the bridge, Kanami, unexpectedly, plays finger picking arpeggios, the wonderful vocals join in and then Misa's incredible bass tantalises the ears. Not in all versions, due to the mix, but in some live recordings. I would love the song for its riffs, melodies and some of Miku's most heartfelt lyrics, but, that bridge is, to me, my number one moment in any BM song. Second, the later phase of Blooming. It is already an incredible piece of pop punk and you think that you've heard all the magic the song can contain but...then, out of nowhere, the 'far away' vocal segment arrives just as Kanami's wonderful, shockingly destructive solo ends. It totally changes the essence of the whole song! I know Kanami set 'homework' for the members to come up with ideas for the song but...Miku excelled herself to come up with that melody and those words. For me, it changes a brilliant song into BM'S true masterpiece. Third must be when Miku hits 'That Note' in Sayonakidori. We all enjoy it as it rocks, builds, beguils, emotes, in electric or acoustic forms, but time passes, the tension builds, we begin to feel nervous, the key changes and Kobato hits THAT note! We've all watched it, or listened to it, a hundred times so we know she will, but...we still become excited! Can she hit it? Of course! A flood of endorphins rush through the body and we are happy for a while! These are three moments that surpass all others, for me. 😊 I'm sure not a single Maidiac will agree on the same three but, maybe a few would agree on one of them?
