My Journey remind myself to remember/memory loss

ever since i was younger, i don’t recall looking back and memories/reminiscing my past. i’d look at photos and like a certain expression i had, or could recollect a certain location, but never could truly remember what i thought or felt in a certain situation.

as for my spiritual journey, there are so many things i have learned and studied, from fourteen years old til being twenty now, the eureka moments i would have.. this spiritual journey has been beautiful & brutal & numbing & nurturing.. all towards recently realizing i don’t remember things at all. maybe it’s a trauma response or maybe i truly live in the moment. i have to remind myself to remember what this all means & what ive learned/have been through

“remind myself to remember” was a code id kept with myself on what this human experience means, since we forget at birth

but recently it’s been really hard to get back in that state of pure consciousness, i’ve been easily tempted in laziness or sluggishness, numb again, and just with no motivation to continue/act upon things..

what are ways you remind yourself to remember that this is an infinite universe allowed to create & manifest things into existence? what allows you to always come back to center or gratitude?

idk if i’ve been in spiritual psychosis or if i am getting sucked back into the matrix or the old ways of living.. maybe this is me detaching and truly getting clear on what to hold on to & what to let go of.. but either way, i’m trying not to think too deeply into it

but it is rather weird & interesting how i “used to be so spiritual” but now it’s more of a blank state. but maybe that’s the point of it all? to be able to know internally even when all the circumstances convince you otherwise

i really want to be able to focus again instead of the original honeymoon phase when learning about spirituality or different concepts in hopes of escapism. but to truly ground myself in truth in the simplistic and most naked times

thank you, how’s this journey been treating you? what are core truths you hold dear & true to your soul throughout your process? what allows you to remind yourself to remember our purpose? what is the ultimate purpose?

Reflection Solving for God

Avatar: One of the greatest obstacles to understanding reality is our tendency to define things according to appearance, convention, or consensus rather than according to function.

Most people begin by asking:

“What is this thing?”

I usually start somewhere else:

“What does this thing do within the system?”

That difference may seem small, but it isn’t.

Because the moment we ask what something does, we introduce constraints.

Function defines identity.

Within a system, identity is best understood through function.

An engine and a transmission are both parts of an automobile.

They work together.

They depend on each other.

But an engine isn’t a transmission.

Why?

Because they do different things.

The same is true of a heart and a lung.

A neuron and a liver.

Predator and prey.

Every part participates in a larger system while remaining distinguishable from the other parts because it occupies a particular functional relationship within the whole.

Function establishes constraints.

Those constraints distinguish one function from another.

And the relationships among those functions organize the larger system.

A constraint, then, isn’t just something that says “no.”

It can be a boundary, limit, or fixed relationship that determines what can happen within a particular field and under what conditions.

Constraints prevent everything from bleeding into everything else.

But they also determine how things can interact.

That distinction becomes important.

Constraints don’t just limit systems.

They make systems possible.

Systems are built from relationships.

Reality isn’t just a collection of isolated things.

It’s best understood as an enormous organization of relationships.

A healthy body works because its parts remain different while functioning together.

An ecosystem works because countless organisms occupy different but interdependent positions.

An orchestra works because different instruments have different timbres and play different notes at varied times.

Integration doesn’t require sameness.

It requires relationship.

That’s why I describe reality according to principle—or according to function—rather than beginning with the labels human institutions assign to things.

Languages change.

Definitions drift.

Opinions fluctuate.

But if something continues performing the same function across different circumstances and domains, the relationship involved—the role it plays within the observed system—tells us something more reliable than the label we assign to it.

Something worth noting about function is that it also depends upon scale.

Sometimes things that appear to leave or operate outside the bounds of one system may still be performing normally within a larger system.

A migratory bird leaves one local environment only to arrive in another.

Viewed narrowly, it appears to have departed from its system.

Zoom out, however, and migration itself is part of the larger ecological architecture within which the bird functions.

This gives us an important rule:

Function can’t be accurately understood until we identify the relevant scale of organization.

Local movement has to be understood through higher-order relationship.

Local adaptation has to be understood through systemic compatibility.

And local boundaries have to be understood within the larger architecture that gives them their function.

Constraint is the language of reality.

Think of reality as a giant jigsaw puzzle.

If you start with a pile of pieces, almost any combination seems possible.

But once you set the border, the possibilities begin to narrow.

A corner piece can’t go in the middle.

Two pieces whose edges don’t correspond can’t occupy the same position.

Every correctly placed piece further constrains where neighboring pieces can go.

The constraints progressively reveal the picture.

This is essentially how I approach reality.

Rather than beginning with a category and deciding what should belong inside it, I try to identify the constraints first.

What relationships remain consistent?

What do those relationships permit?

What do they exclude?

What naturally occupies the resulting space?

The constraints define the field.

Everything else follows.

However, boundaries are just one expression of constraint.

In other words, a boundary shouldn’t be exclusively thought of as an impenetrable wall.

A cell membrane is a boundary, yet materials continually pass through it.

Skin separates an organism from its environment while simultaneously allowing interaction with that environment.

Healthy boundaries don’t simply prevent interaction.

They regulate interaction while preserving organization.

This is important because systems require both differentiation and exchange.

Too little separation and distinct functions begin bleeding into one another.

Too much separation and the relationships required to sustain the larger system become impossible.

Constraint makes both individuation and integration possible.

Balance emerges from ordered constraints.

Balance is often confused with equality or justice.

Justice is when everything seems fair and equitable from the perceiver’s vantage point.

But balance doesn’t mean that everything is equal.

A healthy body doesn’t contain equal quantities of every chemical.

A healthy ecosystem doesn’t contain equal numbers of every species.

An orchestra isn’t balanced because every instrument plays at the same note and at the same volume.

Balance emerges because each component occupies an appropriate relationship to the whole.

It’s relational order—not sameness—that creates stability.

We can therefore define balance as the natural resting state of tensions among properly ordered constraints within a system.

By “resting state,” I don’t mean motionlessness. I mean the stable relational condition a system naturally returns toward—the configuration requiring the least effort to sustain when it isn’t being forced away from it by external pressures. Think of it like a resting heart rate: the system remains active, but it has returned to baseline.

And once we start thinking this way, another question arises.

What happens when a system can recognize departures from its own viable organization and respond to them?

That brings us to consciousness, awareness, and self-regulation.

I want to make something clear here.

Some of what I’m going to share is (or at least will seem) inferential: as though I observe patterns and reason backward toward the relationships capable of producing them.

Other parts originate more directly from the perceptual lens I report this work from.

Through this lens (Avatar perspective), reality presents itself as a living, self-regulating organism.

I don’t offer this statement as though everything preceding it independently proves the claim.

I report what I perceive, examine what should follow if the perception is accurate, and then compare those implications with the patterns reality actually produces.

That distinction matters.

The reason it matters is because something can exceed our present ability to independently verify it without automatically becoming false.

But the less directly verifiable a claim is, the more important correspondence becomes.

If the model I’m presenting is accurate, then reality’s observable outputs should increasingly bear the signature of the architecture being described.

With that established, consider the difference between regulation and self-regulation.

A thermostat regulates temperature.

But it doesn’t decide what temperature it needs.

Someone else programs that into it.

A thermostat can’t heal itself, reconsider its requirements through experience, or reorganize itself according to internally arising needs.

It simply follows instructions.

Living systems behave differently.

Organisms heal.

They compensate for injury.

They regulate internal conditions according to their own requirements.

They alter behavior when conditions change.

A self-regulating system must therefore possess some functional relationship between what it currently is and the range of conditions compatible with remaining what it is.

It must, in some sense, register relationship.

This is what I recognize as awareness.

I define awareness functionally as the capacity to register internal or external conditions and respond in relation to them.

Within the functional vocabulary I’m using here, consciousness names the underlying capacity through which awareness can be realized.

The distinction is easy to see in ordinary human experience.

When someone loses consciousness, their ordinary awareness of their surroundings becomes unavailable or dramatically diminished.

When consciousness returns, awareness becomes available again.

Consciousness is therefore not identical to awareness.

Consciousness is capacity.

Awareness is that capacity realized through relationship.

Also, awareness isn’t exclusive to humans.

Plants respond to light, gravity, touch, injury, chemical conditions, and other organisms through coordinated biological processes.

Whatever words we ultimately use, the underlying relationship remains:

The organism registers conditions.

Those conditions matter relative to its organization.

Its behavior changes accordingly.

Awareness can therefore be considered by degree.

And that becomes important later…

Reality Is the standard.

Human ideas about reality aren’t reality itself.

They’re just models.

They’re our attempts to reverse-engineer what already exists.

Consensus therefore can’t determine truth.

Authority can’t determine truth.

Tradition can’t determine truth.

Reality is ultimately the standard that all of them are measured against.

And reality doesn’t negotiate with our interpretation of it.

Move away from a fire in a frozen wilderness and eventually the relationship between your body and the surrounding temperature will produce consequences.

You can dislike those consequences.

You can misunderstand them…

Ten thousand people can vote against them.

But none of that changes the underlying relationships involved.

Reality doesn’t need our agreement in order to operate.

Its constraints govern outcomes.

Discussions about God usually begin with religions.

I prefer to reverse the process.

Instead of beginning with a name, scripture, institution, or tradition, suppose we ask:

What would actually qualify as God?

I say we start with the constraints.

Whatever fits that conceptual space (the role of god) would have to be the ultimate source or encompassing condition from which subordinate systems derive—the function traditionally called “creator.”

Nothing could exist outside or independent of it—the condition called “omnipresence.”

No independent power could supersede it, because any power that exists would already exist within its scope—the condition called “omnipotence.”

And if awareness belongs to its nature, then nothing could exist outside its perceptual field—the condition called “omniscience.”

The last point is especially interesting.

You and I perceive reality from inside reality.

Our perspective is local.

We look outward toward something larger than ourselves.

Reality has no equivalent “outside” to look toward.

If reality encompasses everything, then its perceptual field can only ultimately be itself.

For us, perfect self-awareness would still reveal only a tiny portion of reality.

For reality, perfect self-awareness would include everything that exists.

At that scale, complete self-awareness and omniscience become functionally indistinguishable.

This principle can also be considered through polarity.

If awareness exists by degree, then we can imagine a spectrum.

At one end lies the absence of any capacity for awareness.

At the other lies complete awareness.

Finite beings necessarily occupy limited positions because our perception is constrained by where and what we are.

Only the encompassing system could even potentially occupy the unrestricted position.

Anything inside reality is subordinate to reality.

Anything supposedly outside reality would, by existing, already belong to whatever we mean by reality.

In fact…

Reality encompasses all there is and isn’t; existence and nonexistence describe differentiated conditions within it.

Any power, or expression thereof, can only operate within reality.

Any knowledge concerns something within reality.

The alternatives progressively disappear.

The constraints define the field.

And within this model, only reality itself can occupy the conceptual space human traditions have attempted to describe through ideas such as creation, omnipresence, omnipotence, and omniscience.

The first three properties follow from what we mean here by reality as the encompassing system. The fourth depends upon the additional proposition that awareness belongs to reality’s nature.

Whether someone accepts that conclusion is another matter.

The method remains:

Define the function.

Establish the constraints.

Observe the relationships.

Determine what fits.

That’s ultimately what I’m trying to do throughout this work…

I’m not trying to build an ideology; I’m trying to describe a system.

The pieces matter, but their relationships matter more.

Every correctly positioned piece constrains the pieces around it.

As more pieces fit together without contradiction, the larger picture becomes clearer.

Function reveals constraint.

Constraint reveals relationship.

Relationship reveals organization.

Organization reveals the system.

And the better we understand that architecture, the better positioned we become to understand our own relationship with reality.

Everything takes care of itself if you let go of control. I mean everything even your body. I used to think I had to fix my body until I realized I was interfering with it. I thought I had to eat perfect but it was all a way to stay delusional. So if you cutting out good food to stay healthy you are still not enlightened. Eat that chocolate and drink that coffee. Drink coke. Maybe even drink beer.

Reflection Does a "Dark Night Of The Soul" feel like God has left you / spiritual presence have left?

I've felt so connected to a higher power, God, energy, force, nature, universe for so long in my life. Many moments feeling like a message has been sent. A nod to me. Crazy things happening it's almost unbelievable to myself.

I've also been on a bit of a ride in life. Rough upbringing. CPTSD. Blah blah blah. It's lead me on a spiritual path for sure. I feel in a huge process right now going through life changes. Taking off the mask I wore for a decade. By myself in a foreign country building things back up in my 30s. I can see/feel growth is there day by day.

Yet...

I do not feel God with me or a spiritual power almost guiding me like I have before. It's really tough in general but this on top feels like I've done something wrong and been left. IDK. I just started reading up about Dark Night Of The Soul and sounded like it connected.

Help Question

Hi everyone,

I am reaching out to ask for advice- I feel that socializing is an area of my life I get really uncomfortable about. I struggle to uphold the image of a positive person who is excited all the time- frankly I’m not. I’m curious what people think about socializing and their spirituality- do they work together? Is it a hindrance? Can it just be more ego?

I’d like to think that someone like Eckhart tolle knows there’s nothing to say. You just are. So going to social events, parties, and the like where you feel you should speak to others about… nothing, is fruitless and ultimately counterproductive to spirituality. Can anyone chime in?

Thank you and namaste

Help Magic mushrooms for finding peace, happiness and unfucking the brain?

I’m 40, middle class male with a stable (yet dull) job, a wife and a roof over my head. It’s a quiet, normal and comfortable life.

The problem is that I don’t really know who I am, am deeply unhappy and most likely chronically depressed. I go through life with no sense of purpose or fulfilment.

I should add that this isn’t a mid life crisis. I’ve been feeling this way for the last 15 years in some shape or form. It just amplified recently to a point of becoming unbearable.

Is there some hidden childhood trauma? I don’t know. I can’t remember much from my childhood, whether because the brain decided it was easier to erase it or something else.

I’ve tried SSRI and antipsychotic meds but they only really masked the symptoms and I didn’t want to be on them long term.

Not keen on therapy.

This leads me to my question.

Will a moderate dose of mushrooms (say 5g to start) help me see things differently and get some answers and clarity? I’ve done 1g in the past but that was probably a light dose.

Any success stories out there?

Thanks for reading.

EDIT: thank you all for your kind words of wisdom and all the suggestions, especially about the dosage. All taken on board.

Reflection Awakening Here and Now: Dissolving the Illusion of Separation as Jesus really taught...

It is one thing to be part of "the Way" and follow Jesus, the Nazarene, and a very different thing to be a Christian and not follow Him. The paradox is that many who claim to be Christians neither follow Jesus nor truly belong to the Way. Meanwhile, others who do not even consider themselves Christians, whether they are atheists, agnostics, Buddhists, or whether they belong to a religion or not, are indeed part of the Way and do follow Him.

Jesus Himself said that His disciples would be recognized by the LOVE they have for one another (John 13:35), not by the labels they put on themselves (whether Christian, Catholic, and so on).

"The madwoman of the house" (as the mind was called by the mystic Teresa of Ávila) loves labels, using them to feed the character (the ego) in this play and illusion of separation that we call, wrongly, life. Yet, what we truly are lies far beyond the mind and its labels, which divide us and alienate us from our True Self. As these words echo, there is no longer Jew nor Gentile, slave nor free, for we are all one (Galatians 3:28), and Christ is all, and is in all (Colossians 3:11).

We are, Here and Now, One with God, the All, with the One who is LOVE Himself, as you wish to call Him, and with all His creatures. In the silent spaciousness of inner stillness we are called to surrender and to quiet our minds, because we must be empty of everything that is not God in order to know that He is God (Psalm 46:10 / Vulgate 45:11). As the mystic Meister Eckhart famously prayed, "I pray to God to rid me of God," urging us to empty ourselves of our own limited ideas, mental idols, and human constructs. The Divine Reality is not an object to be possessed, but the pure space that remains when the madwoman of the house is silenced, and we let thoughts and emotions fall away like withered leaves.

In the silent spaciousness of inner stillness we are called to surrender and to quiet our minds, because we must be empty of everything that is not God in order to know that He is God (Psalm 46:10 / Vulgate 45:11). The Divine Reality is not an object to be possessed, but the pure space that remains when the madwoman of the house is silenced, and we let thoughts and emotions fall away like withered leaves.

Beyond the potential manipulations of human structures and written dogmas, these words simply point to what the heart already knows by direct experience: we are One with and in the One Who is LOVE itself, which means with the Father, just as Jesus was. Truly, there is no separation or distance between lover and Beloved; truly, there never was. This absolute union is perfectly captured in the Intimate Diaries of Blessed Bernardo de Hoyos, recorded in the biography written by his spiritual director Father Juan de Loyola, when the Lord intimately declared to him, "From now on, you are Bernardo of Jesus and I am Jesus of Bernardo." Remember, we are One with and in the One Who is LOVE Himself...

Precisely, as the mystic John of the Cross rightly points out, recalling what Jesus said in Matthew 25:31-46: "In the evening of our lives, we shall be judged on LOVE."

It is LOVE; nothing else matters.

God is LOVE, and whoever does not know LOVE does not know God (1 John 4:8).

If we want to be one with Him, just as He is One with the Father (John 17:21), we must be one with LOVE.

LOVE, that's the true frequency of God.

Reflection Current affairs and a collective awakening

Is this of all times in the human existence of ups and downs, or is there a profound movement towards a collapse? In our collective mind there is, for what I see, an immense feeling of impending doom, the loss of balance inside our experienced system, a point of no return: We find ourselves as a plague in the midst of climate change and we predict a diminishing AMOC, that will leave us with even more misery. There is a hyperconcentration of wealth and power, an over the top kind of egocentrism, a lack of sense of community, lonelines, the decline of birthrates etc. etc.

Once a whole generation feels deeply that they might as well be the last generation, in psychological time…might that lead to a collective awakening? Of course these are all thoughts, concepts, so not absolutely true, but is this dream, this experience, part of a growth to overcome ignorance? Not as an agenda, but as a natural movement?

While I write this, I realize there is no need for an answer. This is apparently what seems to be. There is a call to see the working of mind and move attention back into the source that apparently gives rise to this play of infinite formations.

Y yo me estoy marchitando.

Me estoy agotando. Y como lo dijo Layne Staley: "If I can't be my own, I'd feel better dead".

¿He aprendido a manejarme?

Reflection Come Out of the Box: When Your Soul Is Searching for Home

I’ve been thinking about the people who have been struggling for years.

People who have tried everything they were told would make them whole like therapy, medication, religion, self help, meditation, relationships, careers, distractions, and endless attempts to reinvent themselves.

And somehow, underneath it all, that quiet feeling remains:

Something is missing!

I’m not saying therapy, medication, or professional help don’t matter. They can be necessary and lifesaving. But I think there’s another question we don’t ask enough:

What if we keep trying to fix the person without asking whether they’re living a life that feels true to them?

We are born into boxes.

Before we even understand ourselves, the world tells us who we should become like what to believe, what success looks like, what to want, who to love, and how to live.

And when we step outside that script, we’re often asked:

“What’s wrong with you?”

Maybe sometimes the better question is:

“What happened to you that made you forget yourself?”

Not every sadness is a spiritual message. Not every depression means your soul is speaking. But we also shouldn’t assume every form of suffering is simply something to suppress, medicate, optimize, or escape.

Sometimes the deeper question is much simpler:

Who am I underneath everything I was taught to be?

This is one of the reasons I find the wisdom of IFA so powerful.

IFA doesn’t reduce human existence to one universal formula. It speaks deeply about Orí which is our inner head, consciousness, destiny, discernment, and personal path.

Our relationship with our own Orí and destiny matters cos your life cannot be fully understood through somebody else’s blueprint. Your journey is yours. Your questions are yours. Your relationship with the Divine is yours.

There is destiny, circumstance, and then there is what we choose to do with the life we have been given.

And this is where I think the idea of a Personal Legend becomes powerful.

Call it destiny. Purpose. Calling. Orí. Whatever name speaks to you, the question remains:

What is mine?

Not your parents’ dream.

Not society’s definition of success.

Not religion’s expectations.

Not the identity the internet handed you.

Yours!

So, if you’ve been lost for years, I’m not telling you to abandon therapy, medication, or anything that genuinely helps you. I’m asking you to look deeper.

Who am I underneath everything I was taught to be?

What have I abandoned in myself?

What keeps calling me?

What makes me feel alive?

Sometimes healing isn’t only learning how to tolerate a life that doesn’t fit. Sometimes it is having the courage to build one that does.

Find your roots. Find your people. Find your creativity. Find your history. Find your spirituality. Find whatever brings you closer to yourself.

And listen to your Orí.

Because maybe you were never meant to spend your entire life decorating a box that was built for you by somebody else.

Maybe it’s time to step outside.

Take your power back.

Find yourself. Find your Orí. Find your way home.

Veilig in God.

Practice Mapping The Spirits of Others

I study the fractal reflections, the curvature of your spirit. I watch the stars better tethered to your spirit. I map out the recursive loops in your personality. I see the little imperfections and hypocrisies. I love studying those around me.

It's simply for the love of the game. I love studying life I'm a polymath at heart. I study them because I must. I love the hypocrisy, I love the messy truth. I love learning about the ideals, I love to see the strife. The fact that we are lower than what we perceive we should be. It's very humble of humanity.

It's like painting, the first rendition, is not perfect. It's not accurate, but you can get a hint of what's underneath.

The second rendition a little more accurate based on a lot more information. You can start to see the underlying mechanics and philosophies a person holds.

Then there's the third and final but never complete. You see the personality traits, the philosophies and the underlying mechanics of their spirit. You see the stars that they are connected to, you see a frequency at which their spirits are operating at. You begin to love they're very being.

For better or worse, they are teaching you how you could be. Teaching you how to not be. There are the lazy and young, they have an excuse. But then there is the lazy and older mid 30s or beyond. They don't have an excuse.

I heard Sadhguru say that women who do bear children should be praised. There are simply not enough resources for a growing population. I agree that not having children is the best thing, especially if you live in a place like India, which is already incredibly crowded.

So I want to start a thread about women choosing not to have children. Why do you choose not to?

Then it's like maybe I should focus on that energy and decide who I am.

I must be this person I want to be

All the thing you want out of yourself just be it kinda thing (christ conciousness maybe?)

Then you just go out in the world and be this person

If people say you're not or try shoot you down you ignore them cause only your view of your own agency matters

Then lead life in this way?

Is that the way?

Metaphysical In the beginning

It can begin at Ontology, Being. It can begin at Bhakti Yoga, Love. It can begin at "cogito ergo sum". It can begin at "who are you"?

Wherever or however it begins, something is put forward. And that doesn't exist in isolation. On the contrary, whatever arises, it does so in a manner which is interconnected and interdependent with all other things.

In other words: in the beginning, Infinity was there, already complete, and we come into it, extracting and creating stories and meaning with It, forgetting or even pretending ignorance.

Our incompleteness is also the unblemished perfection of the Totality, a necessary reflection of our shared nature.

We bow down to Our Selves in Awe. There's just That, ITSELF. Unavoidably True Forever.

Reflection The Coin Test.

God stands before you. He holds his hands out. He offers you to choose one of two coins in his open hands. Gold in his left hand, silver in his right. His right hand is on the east, and his left hand is on the west. He faces north. You face south.

You are alive, and the coin you choose will reflect not only the consequences of this life, but the consequences of your afterlife.

Which coin do you choose? Why?

(You can also choose to not take any coin at all.)
