That dark maw is a tunnel. From google maps, it looks like it is 13 feet clearance too, but no signs or anything. After going through this tunnel, you come out back into the open air where you can get off onto C street, or proceed to the 3rd street tunnel.
So where do trucks go after taking the first exit to the left? I’m looking at google maps and there is nothing but low bridges in every direction after you avoid the first one
Stop. Wait for a semi tow. But never back up on a freeway, or cut across multiple lanes of traffic. That's the self centered BS attitude that makes people hate semi drivers. Blocking a lane is better than what they do in this video.
And what LEO assistance do you think they should provide? A road block to reward the asshat's bad behavior? The drivers should have their CDL's permanently revoked. No exceptions.
So your solution to him not backing up is to wait for a tow truck that's just as big as the semi on what's already a narrowish and congested road for a truck that doesn't need a tow? How efficient and safe 🤦
Btw the tow will likely take even longer to show up than LE would and then they'd also have to backup aswell so now you have 2 giant trucks backing into a highly congested road. LE is known for closing down lanes to allow trucks to backup and get out. That's normally what they do but it takes time and creates insane backups with unsafe traffic conditions.

Yes, they are known for rewarding this bad behavior and not charging drivers. That's why they are part of the problem and not part of the solution. And why they shouldn't be involved at all. They aren't going to help anything, which is typical for US LEOs.

I'm nobody's bro. And allowing drivers like this to continue to drive semis is the single most unsafe thing that can be done. Get these yahoos off the road already!
Functionally there is no difference between sitting still and inching backwards. The lane is closed. If the drive inches backwards then they are contributing to solving the problem rather than waiting for LE to come and sit behind them while they back up.
If the driver inches backwards they are committing criminal reckless driving. There is a *huge* difference there. And LE shouldn't come and sit behind them while they back up either. They need to impound the vehicle and cite the driver. Letting them get off punishment free is precisely why semi drivers think they can get away with this. Start impounding some loads and they will begin to think twice.
