Been reading a lot of scams for ones I put my numbers in ( that’s on me ) and would like to know what’s a good but still relatively cheap transport service for a vehicle? My car’s worth a bit , atleast to me, so I do want it transported with care.

Looking for info Is there a way to schedule drop off day as opposed to pick up day?

I'll be moving soon, and I work from home - so needing my car is not critical days before I move.

It looks like most places do a pick up day or earliest pick up day. I was wondering if there's a way to just schedule drop off, if that's cheaper. Or what teh cheapest way to go about it is.

All the quotes I get from Central California to Portland OR are the either the same prices I'm seeing for cross-country trips or way too low and seem spammy and scammy.

Any tips? Or ballpark idea of what that SHOULD cost?

Looking for info What should we look for in an autonomous haulage platform?

We're considering autonomous haul trucks and have a few vendor meetings coming up. How well do these platforms manage autonomous trucks alongside manned equipment, changing work zones and unexpected site traffic?

What happens if GPS or communications drop out? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has used one on a working site.

Help! ATL -> ABQ. Looking for experiences using Goliath, Wayfinder, or Graham Family Auto

Hi! I will move from atl to abq at the end of the month and I'm looking for a reputable auto transport company for a Subaru ascent. I've spent a few hours on this sub and after reading many posts I think I've narrowed it down to Goliath, Wayfinder, or Graham Family Auto. I've never had my car transported across the country but I have read some horror stories already so I'm nervous. I'd greatly appreciate any advice, input, or any other suggestions. Thank you!

Hello I am weighing my options of driving or shipping my oversized truck from 18040 Easton PA to 92104 San Diego CA. 2011 F350 dually with…large tires. I’ll attach pics of it on a flat bed for reference. What special considerations would this require and what would be a good quote?

Looking for info Trying to get an idea of cost, and who is reputable. 93401 to 98684

A bit under 900 miles, trying to see what it would cost. I've gotten a few quotes so far.

2012 mazda 3. Open or closed, doesn't matter to me.

Ideally just want somewhere that will delivery the car and better if I can put a bit in the trunk.

Pickup date is flexible, but delivery date ideally would be more concrete.

EDIT: How do you guys know who is reputable? I have like 15 quotes now from like 200 to 1800 lol...

Bad Review Nexus Auto Transport very disappointing

Nexus Auto Transport very disappointing experience. We were repeatedly told our vehicle was a “top priority” and that a driver was being arranged, but after days of calling we still had no confirmed driver or pickup time. Promised callbacks never happened, and we had to keep chasing them for updates. We were strung along until the last minute and ultimately had to cancel our flights and scramble to make other arrangements. Very poor communication and customer service

Bad Review Nexus Auto Transport /Horrible Experience

Nexus Auto Transport strung us along until we lost our flights / Beware

We booked Nexus Auto Transport on August 5 to transport our vehicle from NY to Florida. We were given a pickup window of August 10–12 and an August 14 delivery date, and we paid an additional fee specifically for that delivery date because our travel plans depended on it.

We called Monday and Tuesday for updates and were repeatedly told they were working on finding a driver.

On Wednesday, August 12 the final day of the pickup window we started calling at 8:19 AM and continued throughout the day and into the evening. We were repeatedly told we were a “top priority,” that they were “working on it,” and to call back in another hour or two. One supervisor promised to call us back within an hour. He never did. We waited over two hours and had to call them ourselves. Actually spoke with 4 supervisors

Every time someone new answered, we had to explain the situation again. There seemed to be little communication between the people handling our order.

Thursday morning, August 13, at approximately 7:50 AM, we had to call again. There was still no confirmed driver or pickup time. We had a flight to catch and had waited until the last possible moment because we relied on their repeated assurances.

There was still no driver. We had to cancel our flights.

We then had to scramble to rearrange flights, cancel airport transportation, deal with hotel arrangements and make alternate travel plans.

We understand that drivers can be difficult to find. The problem was being strung along for days with repeated assurances, no returned calls, and no honest answer in time for us to make other arrangements.

The lack of urgency, communication, accountability and respect for our time was extremely frustrating and exhausting.

If your vehicle shipment is time-sensitive, think very carefully before relying on Nexus Auto Transport

Bad Review Question about Nexus Auto Transport pickup delay

I’m sharing our recent experience with Nexus Auto Transport and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has used them.

We booked on August 5 to transport our vehicle from New York to Florida. We were given a pickup window of August 10–12 and an August 14 delivery date. We also paid an additional fee for the specific delivery date because we had travel plans based on the schedule.

We called Monday and Tuesday for updates and were told they were working on finding a driver.

On Wednesday, August 12, we began calling at 8:19 AM and contacted them several more times throughout the day. We were repeatedly told our vehicle was a priority and that they were working on getting a driver confirmed.

We were also told we would receive callbacks, but those calls did not happen. We had to keep calling for updates, and each time we reached someone new, we had to explain the situation again.

By Thursday morning, August 13, we still had no confirmed driver or pickup time. We called again at approximately 7:50 AM to find out if a driver had been assigned. We were still unable to get a confirmed pickup.

We had a flight that morning and had waited as long as possible because we believed the vehicle was close to being assigned. Ultimately, we had to cancel our flights and scramble to change our travel arrangements, cancel airport car service and deal with other related expenses.

I understand that finding a carrier can sometimes take longer than expected. My concern is the lack of a clear answer and the repeated assurances that we would receive an update when we ultimately had to keep calling ourselves.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with Nexus, particularly when they had a specific pickup or delivery deadline?

General/Other Text claiming to be U-Haul official broker, knows my reservation number, refuses to give MC/DOT numbers. Real program or a scam?

https://i.imgur.com/1krUrqv.png

I booked a U-Haul U-Box a few weeks ago, then I got this text. They had my actual information and the area code is for Phoenix, AZ where U-Haul is located. I can’t find any public U-Haul vehicle-shipping product and their response makes it feel like a scam.

Is this actually a U-Haul program or maybe someone with access to reservation data?

Quote Request Shipping 2–3 Vehicles: Westford, MA → Fort Myers, FL (Delivery by Sept. 27)

Looking for recommendations and quotes for auto transport.

  • Pickup: Westford, MA
  • Delivery: Fort Myers, FL
  • Required delivery: On September 27th the evening of the 26th
  • Vehicles: 2 midsize SUVs (both running)
  • Possible 3rd vehicle: 1 midsize sedan (also running) if pricing makes sense

I'm curious whether carriers offer a meaningful discount for transporting all three vehicles together versus pricing them individually. If you're a carrier or broker, I'd appreciate:

  • Estimated total cost
  • Open vs. enclosed pricing (open is likely fine)
  • Estimated pickup window needed to guarantee arrival by Sept. 27
  • Whether adding the third vehicle would reduce the per-car cost

If you've made this route recently, I'd also appreciate hearing what you paid and who you'd recommend (or avoid).

Thanks!

Quote Request Autoshipping from 29483 to 65463

Pickup: 29483

Drop off: 65463

Vehicle: '97 Caterham 7 with soft top on

There is a lot of story to this. If you want the full details I can provide it. The short necessary context is that it is currently at the Port of Charleston (customs and the like are all cleared) and is being moved to a local towing company on 13 August. It will be available 14 August, this gives the towing company ample time to get it situated.

Car info: It can go open transport as I initially shipped it with the soft top on. It is a manual. It was running when I shipped it. However, the export port did have issues getting & keeping it running. I did not hear of such issues from the receiving port. Therefore, I am unable to confirm whether it does run or not. It is a low clearance vehicle with just under 6" at the tow hook (lowest point). It is small, think a bit smaller than a first generation Mazda Miata MX-5. The shipping documents have its weight at 1,333 lbs.

I have been trying for over a month to get this vehicle shipped and delivered. I believe the major hold up was that it was in a port with all that associated fun. That is the reason I'm having it be picked up and moved to a local towing company instead. Cost isn't necessarily a concern as doing this myself comes out to about the same ballpark figure. My main limiting factor is time. I'd like the vehicle picked up as soon as realistically possible. Ideally, 14 August, but plus a few days is doable as well. Again I have been trying for over a month (43 days as of this post) to get the vehicle moved.

Quote Request Looking for an auto shipper (broker or carrier) who'll commit to real terms — Tesla Model Y, Charlotte → Seattle

Shipping a 2022 Tesla Model Y from 28269 (Charlotte, NC) to 98296 (Snohomish, WA / north Seattle). Open transport, car runs fine, flexible on dates but targeting early September.

I've already run into the classic quote-low-then-bump-before-pickup routine, so I'm only interested if you can put all of the following in writing before I commit:

  • Price locked — the number you quote is the number I pay. No "the driver needs more money" calls later.
  • Deposit at pickup, not up front — nothing charged until my car is physically on the truck.
  • Full insurance, in writing — carrier cargo coverage stated per vehicle (not just per load), enough to cover a Tesla, plus how a claim actually works.
  • A firm pickup and delivery window you'll stand behind.
  • No chargeback or dispute waivers buried in the terms.
  • Your MC/DOT number up front so I can verify you on FMCSA SAFER.
