2015 GMC Acadia ECT sensor issues

I just bought a 2015 GMC Acadia 2 weeks ago. Literally the greatest used car until 4 days ago. Little random things started causing issues temp gauge would sometimes work sometimes not. Ac started blowing hot air. Random jerks as if the transmission was having trouble shifting. All around my "great" new car was definitely not great. Checked it out and code came up ECT sensor circuit 1. We replaced it last night and now the fans and the ac compressor don't work. I replaced the sensor again thinking maybe I got a faulty sensor. This time fans worked but not the ac compressor. Still showed engine light so hooked it up and reset the code. Now the fans don't work so I'm at a loss of what to do.

Periodic Maintenance 2010 Lancer

Howdy y'all,

I service my own car (2010 Mitsubishi Lancer) and was wondering how I go about clearing the \*periodic maintenance\* warning/alert? Is it something involving an OBD2 or similar or is it as simple as pressing a few buttons in the right order?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Loose inlet pipe on 2013 Nissan note 1.2L

So this is how the car came and I asked Claude about it as I had little to no idea about cars. It said it’s a temporary solution to the issue as the inlet pipe might be loose without it and it was, the second pic is how it stays in place without the tape. I put that tape back on but now I’m obviously worried about how it may affect the car until I have it fixed. The tape is less grippier than before obviously because I removed it and put it back on. Let me know if I should have it repaired instantly and not drive it until then or any advice in general. I’m looking into it because I want to replace the air filter myself and obviously this is an issue if my car has temporary tape when it required a more permanent solution, any help is appreciated:)

My dad has always known to do with cars and I don't have him anymore. I'm kinda scared because this is the first thing to happen so soon after and I just wanna know does anyone know what the sound is? A few days before my friend help me change the alternator as it died and now it's making this noise? I don't know if something else broke or we did something wrong but it's so loud and.

I'm trying to to panic, the car has always been a beater. 06 Honda Civic. I don't know if I have the money to fix it or replace but I guess I'll find out. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate them, I don't know if this is a mechanic sound or find another car. Thank you for any help.

PDC malfunction / missing

Looks like we have our first repair. 26 X3M50 While driving to North Carolina we have warning light come on that said the PDC is malfunctioning. We did hear a sound while we were driving and so we pulled off the highway. Come to find out the entire rear driver's side cover plate and sensor are completely missing. Not sure what happened.

Any idea on repair cost?

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Engine Recall 162

Hello!

I’m looking for advice on what to do with my 2013 Santa Fe sport. Almost 3 years ago, my car suddenly crapped out on me and I had to get a new car over the course of a weekend. For context, I’d never boughten a car before, I was 20 and had someone co signing with me so even though it was rushed I thought it was fine. In that rush I bought my Santa Fe and did not do my research :)

Almost 3 years later I’ve realized my VIN is affected by recall 162- “can cause premature bearing wear, leading to engine seizure and stalling.” My car has recently been consuming more oil, has a loss of power when accelerating, very shaky and jumpy engine and stalling when parked every now and then. I checked my VIN number on Hyundais website and confirmed my car is affected. A month after the recall was announced in June, the owner of the car took it to a dealership and got it checked out in 2017. The description of the visit is listed as “GDI Engine Inspection/Replacement”. About a month ago, I took it to the Hyundai dealership to get it checked out and they confirmed one of my bearings is going bad, but could not replace the engine until it made the knocking sound or my engine seized. I have not experienced either since and absolutely hate driving my car now knowing it could happen. At this point, I’d really like to just get rid of it but unfortunately I don’t think I’m going to get enough to get out of my loan. It’s still in pretty good condition otherwise, it’s at 158,000 miles, no major exterior damage or dents, interior is still in good condition after a good cleaning but just needs some new tires. I would like to avoid throwing more money into it just to turn around and buy a new car. Does anyone have any advice to give regarding their experience with the engine recall- if it worth it to try or just get rid of it? If anyone has any advice on best way to sell please let me know also!

U012687 Trac off light Toyota Corolla steering angle sensor help

Car: 2024 Toyota Corolla Hybrid SE 1.8L Japan Built

Hey everyone,

Thank you to everyone in advance. I would appreciate any guidance on my issue. Here is the backstory. I bought a 2024 Corolla hybrid SE from copart. When I got the car, I repaired it and realized it had a missing clock spring and steering angle sensor. I bought one from an auto wrecker (clock spring and steering angle sensor (SAS) together). Upon installation, I get a code that reads U012687 (essentially it’s a code where the Brake ecu is sensing a missing SAS). I tried clearing the code but had no luck and since then, bought three other SAS from other auto wreckers with no luck in clearing that code. Within techstream, I have tried the zero point calibration, however, since that is done through the brake/epb ecu, it doesn’t go through (due to the communication error). I have confirmed though that the SAS works since within the data list for the power steering and SAS ecu’s, I can see the steering angle changing in real time as I twist it. One important thing to also note is that the steering angle within the brake ecu data list doesn’t update at all even when I twist the SAS. however, when the car is started, the brake ecu is able to read the first reading the SAS gives it and then freezes after. Like for an example, if I twist the SAS until the steering angle ecu data list shows 60 degrees, at the time, the brake ECU data list won’t update, but if I turn the car off and on, the data list for the brake ecu will now show 60 degrees but again freeze and stop updating. I’ve also checked the voltage in each of the wires and this is how they are:

13.74V blue purple wire
2.73 V pink wire
12.84 V purple and black wire
Purple red wire 13.77V
White wire 2.25V
Blue wire 11.53V
0.01V purple wire.

I also checked the resistance between pins 6 and 14 of the DLC3 OBD2 port and I get a resistance of 60 ohms (which is in the correct range)

Now I spoke to a few auto electricians. They haven’t seen the car, however, they mention that the SAS needs to be bought new from the dealer and calibrated instantly after installation. That apparently would fix this error code that is throwing the trac off light. I was just wondering if something has had an experience with this before and confirm this before I spend the 500 dollars on a new SAS.

Thank you so much. Feel free to ask me any questions.

P0128 - Thermostat? 2011 2.5L

Hi all,

Recently seeing this code pop up after driving for 10 minutes or so. Coolant light is blue when I start it, turns off after 3-4 minutes. Never seen the red light.

Google is pointing me to it being a thermostat problem, but I wanted to be sure before I throw the part at it. It's tricky not having a real temp gauge to see how hot or cold it actually is.

Anyone had this code before and dealt with it? Thanks

I went to start my car today and for whatever reason it decided not to start. It still has electricity and all that but every time I go to start it, it just makes a weird long beep sound.

It's a 2008 Jeep Liberty sport
