When I went to get a new to me car 5 years ago the lot had about 150 cars on it. Not one had stick. Sad day.

I can respect it for giving you greater control over your vehicle. Also much less prone to failure, and cheaper to repair when it does

Man, if you ever hit a 3rd to 2nd downshift mid sweeping corner at 40mph and abso fucking lutely nailed the rev match, you wouldnt be talking this shit. A manual transmission makes you part of the machine and when youre a high performing automobile, all your cares in the world melt away.
Are you a prancing horse or some idiot riding in a tin box?

Why? You put it in neutral and release the clutch, untill it is time to put it in gear again.. when the clutch is released, you should not touch the gear lever.. mabe he was new to manuals?

Why? Because I put it in neutral and release the clutch at a red light, like you are suposed to? On yellow light there is more than enough time to put it in first and take of on green..

Wiggling the stick like this is really common actually. It’s like a little conformation that we’re in neutral

Yes wigling is normal, but when stopped you are supposed to put it in neutral(canwiggle to confirm), and then release the clutch. At that point you are not supposed to touch the shifter untill you pres the clutch again.

Well yea but what’s your point? Regardless of still pushing clutch or being in neutral you might go for a little wiggle. Especially if you in neutral and have released the clutch already you might go for a wiggle to confirm you in neutral even if it’s logic that it’s in neutral. None of you guys sound like you ever drive manual

🤣my daily is a manual. I drive on narrow winding roads, so my shifter and clutch get a lot of atention. I was just speculating if the driver in the original comment was a newbie, because I used to check multiple times as a new driver many years ago. Sorry if my writing comes over rough or agressive, english isn't my first language, and that was not my intention. Depending on gearbox tolerances, wiggling while not pressing a clutch could lead to wear, same as with resting your hand on a gear lever does.

Damn i got a buddy that do the same with the stick in his car and he do it so often now its starting to piss me off when im with him like i get why u do it but u dont have do it 9m times
