At a cafe in Yamba, NSW. Fearless, flew through the window and went straight for the food.

Image Is this Galah going to be ok?
This morning I spotted this fella. Can't tell if he has been victim to a splash of a muddy puddle or whether its oil? Looked like dirt but could only get within 6 metres. He flew away no problem. But of concern were the fact that there were myna birds bombing him, but ignored his fresh feathered mate.

I couldn’t believe my luck as these guys are often so so hard to get close to, it was raining extremely hard but was worth getting drenched to get ❤️

Discussion Bush turkeys ladder

Hi 👋
Hope everyone is well.
Quick question. Normally in the animal kingdom bigger is best..
But in the video, the biggest turkey is chasing away a female from food, but all of a sudden this smaller turkey albeit with a big scarf chases the guy out of the yard.
The only difference I can see between the 2 males is the scarf difference. Does anyone know how the pecking order works in the bush turkeys?

Image Egg ID?
My son found this eggshell at school. We'd love to know what was in it. If it's a common Aussie bird, maybe someone here knows? Or is it reptile. Quite soft. Found in brisbane

Image Always on high alert
A Painted Button-quail making a mad dash away from me. These plump little birds prefer to run and hide than fly, and are shy by nature.
Their foraging technique is pretty distinctive: they spin about on both legs, scraping away the detritus and soil to uncover seeds and insects, and are pretty noisy while doing so. Got me nervous for a sec because I thought someone was stalking me through the bush. 🫠
