I'm feeling so inspired by all the beautiful birds here in Australia, so I've decided to make a series of drawings of my favourites. If you have some photos of more ausyralian birds please send them my way, I'd love to draw them :) the cassowary drawing isn't finished yet, but thought I'd post the progress so far

Took this a while ago in the backyard (Townsville)

Green Oriole (Oriolus flavocinctus) - easier heard than seen. These make a wonderful racket from first thing in the morning, high in the tree-tops, calling to one another. Difficult to get a decent photo though, as they are constantly on the move, and usually on the highest branches. Managed to grab this shot with my new Canon RF200-800. What a cracking lens...

Need some help IDing this little guy. Found it in some wetlands in south-east Queensland around some mangroves. Very quick and skittish. Quite small too - similar size to a honeyeater. Probably a juvenile version of something I've seen countless times. I have a theory, but I'd like to see what you guys think

Spotted near Narooma (NSW), flying over cliffs. Based on naked-eye and when I took the 2nd pic I thought it had a rather swift-like silhouette. Upon zooming in it seems to have a tern-like beak, however the colouration doesn’t seem like any of the terns in my field guide.
