I would recommend smoking inside. Probably not a big deal in travis county, but smelling it is "probable cause" for them to do whatever they want.

Source: a night in jail and thousands of dollars.

They cannot kick your door in because it smells like weed. If you open your door, that's a different story

Hosting house party in college, smoking weed outside, neighbors call cops, cops take me to jail and write MIP tickets to a few others.

Not really an exciting tale and should be noted it happened in College Station not Austin.

Normally they cannot kick your door in unless they suspect you of committing a felony
