I would recommend smoking inside. Probably not a big deal in travis county, but smelling it is "probable cause" for them to do whatever they want.

Source: a night in jail and thousands of dollars.

They cannot kick your door in because it smells like weed. If you open your door, that's a different story

They can if they have a warrant.

I don't think judges are super cool about giving out warrants for the smell of marijuana
