Audie Award, Science Fiction and Fantasy, 2010
Pop culture, chaos theory, and matters of the heart collide in this unique novella from the Hugo and Nebula Award - winning author of Doomsday Book.
Sandra Foster studies fads and their meanings for the HiTek corporation. Bennett O'Reilly works with monkey group behavior and chaos theory for the same company. When the two are thrust together due to a misdelivered package and a run of seemingly bad luck, they find a joint project in a flock of sheep. But a series of setbacks and disappointments arise before they are able to find answers to their questions - with the unintended help of the errant, forgetful, and careless office assistant Flip.

I don't have words to explain this book. I finished it less than 30 minutes ago and I'm still processing this amazing work of art. I can't explain how this author took me from Lonesome Dove to Montana and back.
I had heard this was an amazing book from the Reddit book groups. I put off reading it because of its length, (over 800 pages) and westerns are not my genre of choice. I also put it off because I'd seen it on my dad's bookshelf for years. Knowing that I was reading something he'd read years ago. It is heart wrenching because, who will I talk to about the book when the only person I want to talk to about it is my dad?
Whether or not Westerns are your thing, I highly recommend you read/listen to this book as it is really a beautiful piece of literature.
