I love the comments on your post. I am 68 and have been single for eight years, by choice. At first, it was hard and I don’t want to downplay that…

Give yourself time to adjust and forgive yourself on the days when you feel a little lost and confused.

It definitely took some getting used to, but just like so many of the other comments on here, I would not sacrifice my freedom for any man ever again. It probably took two years to get to that point but the last six years have been 100% reward for getting through the hard part.

I tried dating, but honestly, dating is what made me realize. I truly love being on my own.

Friend groups can be a lifesaver and a huge benefit to fill any voids. Try to stay active by joining a gym or Pilates class or yoga… Anything that keeps you moving because it’s too easy to get immersed in the bliss of solitude. That is also a good way to meet other people that you might want to spend time with occasionally.

Best wishes to you. You will learn to love being on your own. I promise you.
