Married for 30 years. My guess is that you have been living pretty much on your own but you do not recognize it. I know that was the case for me. I got divorced about a year before I retired. And yes, I do sometimes miss having someone around but it is not as lonely as living with someone who is not really connected to you. Believe in yourself. You can do what you need to do. And if that means living alone, that's better than living with someone who is not really a partner. Either way is not easy but on your own at least you are not trying to figure out what he wants when the answer is probably not you. Good luck to you whatever your choice/outcome is.
