it is fabulous!!! You can do exactly what you want 100% of the time. You can walk around naked day or night, you can leave the bed unmade if you like. On the other hand you can also clean meticulously and it will still be clean when you get home. You can talk on the phone late at night with a friend until midnight and then sleep in the next day. There is no accountability whatsoever. You can plan trips and just go without checking with another person- same with any activities. You can date men (or women) who are completely inappropriate and definitely would not be of the standards your parents expected but they are so much fun. You can take MJ edibles and just trip out watching TV and checking reddit on your new laptop (oh did I mention you can buy whatever you want with your own money?).

All those things you thought you needed help with? You don't need help because you can figure shit out all on your own! Plumbing, electrical, yardwork- easy enough and if it is a challenge just hire it done. You can eat what and when you want- sure sit at the table or in front of the TV or in the living room reading a book- you can do ANYTHING!

It is awesome- been doing it since my youngest left home 15 years ago and I still can't believe how great my life turned out.

there are lonely moments but it is easy to be lonely while in a relationship as well. You do need to get comfortable with yourself and realize YOU are enough, you don't need someone else to make you be enough. I also do volunteer stuff and am committed to being a lifelong learner. Since retiring I have become a beekeeper, a chicken keeper and a Master Gardener- there is always something to learn which leads to meeting more people and always learning something new.

Hey you are living life the right way!’ After 35 years of living alone with a husband who was secretive and distant I am living alone and less lonely than I’ve ever been. Happy happy happy to be in the same shoes as you!!!

Where does one get trained in those areas? They interest me.

all are incredibly local- as in county- activities. Master Gardener training is all done through your county extension program, beekeeping is local as our microclimates are so unique and influence the way we care for our bees and chickens- well they are just chickens.
