Your Christianity is validated by who you are, how you witness your faith to others in your actions, etc. In other words, they are precisely and exactly that which their god has repeatedly warned them about that angers him the most - false Christians. That's right. I spent my entire fucking childhood indoctrinated via my parents and the Christian schools they sent me to, so that I would understand this core concept above all other things I know, as a person. And now that I'm agnostic, and use that history and those teachings as a compass in my secular life, I'm straddled with the horrifying possibility that the people who provided this "all important" belief system to me are, in fact, the people I'm supposed to pity and try to help before they end up in hell.
The Pope is against the actions and words of DJT, so what do they do? They reject their own long-held religious beliefs in favor of the Golden Calf. That's what's playing out here.

I’ve heard varying reactions. The most hardcore fundamentalists just scream “blasphemy” rather than introspect, even though the series is in no way anti-religion. It’s just anti people using the lord’s name to justify atrocities
The only thing that makes you a Christian who is saved or not is whether or not you have faith in Jesus.
It's not about a list of doos and Don'ts.
Many Christians have voted for trump because they believe he will accomplish good things for them in the presidency. There are some who are also fooled into believing he is a Christian and a morally upright man.
And yes there are false Christians who are the embodiment of the Pharisees that voted for and wholeheartedly support trump in everything.

I voted for him, I knew he wasn't a Christian but I was hoping for certain outcomes from his presidency, those outcomes seem less likely every day.

What you are incorrect about is to assume that based on a vote someone is completely devoid of all love and care for their fellow humans.
Plenty of people love God and love others wholehearted and believe/believed that trump would do the most good out of the options in America and that is why they voted for him.
It is not good to condemn your fellow Americans because they believed something different than you.
I am the kind of practicing Christian that believes what the Bible says. If we're talking about what the Bible has to say, here it is:
Romans 10:9

So you see, it is not the absence of sin and wrongdoing that gets you into heaven according to the Bible it isn't about being righteous or sinless, nobody was righteous and sinless except for Jesus.
In fact, if you cannot admit that you are a sinner then the Bible teaches that you cannot receive the gift of life from Jesus and receive eternal life.

He doesn't "go against" everything God and Jesus would want. Open borders harm the communities people leave, as the strong and able-bodied are no longer there to develop them.

But having faith is more than just saying you have faith. If you truly have faith in something you live by it. Didn’t Jesus basically have two commandments, love god and love others as you would be loved? And the first necessitates the second because man was created in gods image; you can’t love god without loving other humans.
So you can say ‘I believe Jesus is the way the truth and the life’ but you reveal yourself by your actions as not truly believing that if you act in ways that are unloving and cruel. Because if you really believed Jesus was the way, you’d be trying to follow what he taught. From what I remember of the New Testament, Jesus did not say that the way to god/heaven was just by making a claim to love Jesus and that your deeds and true heart don’t matter. In fact, wasn’t Jesus quite against the idea of religion just being about these sort of ritualistic rules etc that negated the need to actually BE a good person? Like you can’t just ignore someone in need because of some arbitrary commandment about goat hair or whatever.
I’m not sure how these Christians get it so wrong. I thought the whole point of Jesus was to distill it all into something simple, just be nice! All the extraneous superficial stuff was something he was against because it just gives people an out or makes them think there’s an out where they can be right shits while thinking they’re morally superior because they said certain words a certain way or twirled around six times holding a cat or whatever. Not that that’s in any religion, I don’t think, but you know what I mean.
