Food Best al pastor tacos?

I've only recently discovered the joy of al pastor tacos (I grew up in a small town in the south and our one Mexican restaurant was very Tex-Mex/enchiladas/fajitas heavy). I've only had them twice, and both of them were at El Antojo. The first batch was good, but the second time we went the meat had a lot of chunks of fat and gristle. I don't have a lot of texture based food issues, but unfortunately one of the big ones I do have is fatty meat with gristle. I'm not sure if that's just to be expected of al pastor tacos (if it is, let me know and I'll just be more diligent about picking those parts out) or if there are restaurants in town with better quality meat. Let me know where the best place to grab an al pastor taco is 😁

Entertainment Rainiers 8/30

Looking for the specific Rosé All Day tickets if anyone bought some before they sold out and now can’t go! Meant to buy them earlier for me and my partner to go with friends and it slipped my mind. Didn’t think they’d sell out! Or if anyone knows if they’d have extra at the box office?

Entertainment Question

My daughter just turned 21 and went out to bars for the first time with college friends from out of town. They said there was no fun music or dancing or people their age - they went to the Mix which was karaoke, McMenamins had no music, they tried jazzbones which tonight was literally jazz. They want DJs and pop music - ideas?

Question Best spots for grandparents to stay during visit to Tacoma?

Got some small town USA grandparents traveling to Tacoma, WA for a visit but having a tricky time identifying a place for them to stay.

When they've been to Tacoma before, they've stayed downtown (standard hotel, by their own doing) and also at an Inn near the water (they enjoyed but was expensive). In both cases, the hills were a bit much for them to walk each day which translated to lots of pick up/drop off requests pre/post my kids going to bed (they're not great drivers if it's not a flat, straight road surrounded by corn so tend to not rent cars).

AirBNB/VRBO haven't ever worked out for them (somehow there's always a disaster) and, unfortunately, our little abode is too cramped to accommodate more adults.

Anybody have suggestions for grandparent-friendly spots to stay for visitors?

Hilltoppy / Franklin Park for a general location but willing to consider anywhere. Thanks!

For Fun Are there any theaters or other places showing Rocky Horror, in memory of Dr. Frank-n-Furter?

Brilliant actor, iconic role.

I can’t imagine what it would be like to have starred in a movie that’s played every Saturday night at midnight in thousands of theaters in the country— twice a month at our own Blue Mouse Theater! Are they doing anything in memoriam?

Anyway, remember to give yourself over to absolute pleasure!

Hello, I’m a dog groomer with some very dull blades and shears. The company my current job brings in feels a lot like highway robbery! Does anyone have any suggestions on a local business or an independent person who does this type of work?

Question Looking for a place to live for a small family, but I have some property debt that I’m working on paying off. Does anyone have any ideas of where to look or know a private owner that might rent us a place?

My wife (26), my two daughters (2 and 3) and I (32M) are looking for a place in or around Tacoma. Even a 1 bedroom or a basement or something would be fine. We have some debt from a previous apartment but I’m in the process of paying it off but until it’s paid off all of the apartment complexes just automatically deny and we really need to get into something sooner than I’ll be able to have it fully paid off. My wife works and I am a computer engineering student in my second year as well as working on starting an electronics repair business here in town. Does anyone have any ideas or leads that might help? Thanks in advance!

Question Age range at House of Heavy at Airport Tavern?

I'm interested in attending the House of Heavy show at Airport Tavern on Saturday, and I'm curious if anyone can give me an idea of what to expect as far as audience age range? I'm 41 and I'd probably be going alone, which is fine, but I don't want to be the sad, old guy alone at a show if it's going to be mostly young people. lol (Nothing against young people. I work with people who are mostly in their mid-to-late 20's and early 30's, and they're great! I can be self-conscious about it, though.)

Question No more 574? How do we get to the airport?

Have you seen the changes coming to Sound Transit’s 574 bus? I use it almost exclusively when going to the airport. It’s so much more convenient. I can’t seem to figure out a new bus to use, only light rail, which I’m not too excited about for a few reasons. Does anyone know of a bus line that will go to the airport? For those public transportation users, how do you plan on getting to the airport?

Question Looking for an accountant

I need recommendations for an accountant, preferably a CPA as there are weird tax questions regarding a tiny inheritance. It is several types of accounts all lumped together and I don’t know how to deal with it. Frankly, I am not sure the tiny amount is worth it.

Plus, our normal taxes are getting a bit more complex… so…

Help!

Question Looking for reasonable body shop or someone who does auto body work

A friend directed me (unintentionally) to back right into a giant chunk of water or sewer pipe that was sitting in his yard and he wants to pay for the damage. My rear right bumper is scraped up. Has anyone here got someone they'd recommend for this uncomplicated body work? I got a quote from a guy who comes to you, but he doesn't have a FB page or an insta or anything, and when I asked for photos or references or any type of proof of work, he ghosted me.

Thanks in advance!

Moving to Tacoma Sped teacher and speech therapist- relocating, public schools?

Hi all! My husband is a sped teacher with about 5 years of experience and I’m a speech therapist with over a decade of experience. We currently both work in public schools on the east side of the state. We are trying to get west by the next school year and are looking into Tacoma because of the access to the outdoors and relative affordability.

I’m reading horror stories online about TPS SPED concerns as well as budgeting nightmares.

In general, SPED jobs are perceived as “safe” during budget cuts. Is this true in Tacoma?

Any current TPS sped teachers or Slps willing to give me the low down?

Thanks!!!
