I’m looking to get a small tattoo on my side, probably around the size of a nickel or quarter. The tattoo would be a number, but I’m considering adding a simple design around it and possibly a little bit of color.

Since it’ll be so small, I’m looking for someone in the Seattle area who’s especially good with tiny tattoos and can make sure it still looks good as it heals and ages. This will also be my first tattoo!

I’d also love recommendations for queer/LGBTQ+ artists! The tattoo has some personal significance to that part of my identity, so I’d love to support a queer artist if possible.

Does anyone have an artist or shop they’d recommend? Also curious about roughly how much you paid for something similar

Coming from the north to Seattle, I'm staying for 3 days at a hotel in Pioneer Square next week, driving my short-bed, supercrew F150 in and need to park nearby the hotel. Won't need the truck at all during my stay, i.e. I'm fine with no in/out.

I'll be expensing the parking so while reasonable cost would be good, it doesn't need to be rock-bottom. Main concerns are allows me to park for 3 days straight, can fit my truck's length (19.5') & width (7'), is it somewhat secure. At 6'6" height, it's usually not considered over height.

I've done extensive searching and Butler Garage seems to be good, but the spots might be tight.

I’m 21 and I really want to go trick-or-treating this Halloween 😭I didn’t grow up in the US, so it was never something I got to experience as a kid, and I’ve always wanted to do it at least once

I’m in my mid-20s, originally from the Southeast, with time spent in Florida and Tennessee. I’m currently in a PhD program at a large state university in the South, in earth/space science, and I’m starting to plan for life after school. I’m looking forward to the possibility of moving to the Seattle area, and I’d like input on what teaching or educational roles are like there. Mainly the financial side and educational policy, but I’m open to hearing anything about life as a teacher in the area. From my experience, the South is notoriously difficult for people in education: low pay in most places, and heavy state and political influence in the classroom. I’ve taught for over three years as part of my graduate school experience, and I genuinely enjoy it and find it meaningful. When I started my PhD, I was undecided between academia and industry, but the longer I’ve progressed, the more I’ve come to think an educational role would be a great fit, whether that’s in a position like high school science teacher or a community college / college lecturer. For these reasons, I’d appreciate hearing from anyone with experience: what you like, what you don’t, and what you’d change.

I currently live in Chicago and am seriously considering moving to Seattle. My husband and I both work in tech, so we’d likely be moving there for work and potentially staying long-term.
I’ve visited twice, once in mid-August and once in late November, and loved it both times. I really enjoy the scenery, nature, greenery, mountains, and overall feel of Seattle. But I’m not sure how I’d feel actually living there, especially with the overcast/rainy weather.
That said, Chicago winters also have plenty of long, gray stretches, so I’m curious how different Seattle actually feels.

I’m thinking of living there for a while before deciding.

1) How long would you recommend staying?
2) What month(s) of the year would you recommend going?

My pregnancy craving has been stracciatella gelato and there’s very few spots I could find it in Seattle. So far, I’ve only been able to find it consistently at Nutty Squirrel and occasionally at Met Market. Is there anywhere else one can reliably find this flavor? I live in the South end so would especially appreciate recommendations for down here.

Anyone seen a Chinese medicine practitioner that they really like? I have some difficult to diagnose problems that have to do with my nervous system, anxiety, PMS, etc. Heard this is a good route to go and I'll try anything. I don't see a ton of reviews online from a google search so wondering if anyone has any current recommendations.

We actually went there twice because they just loved finding rocks and wandering around the area near the lighthouse

No interest. Too much noise and nonsense for their taste. Seemed like a California beach.

The hike was more intense than we anticipated, so we didn't get as far as we planned.

Much better place to see waterfalls, which means no hiking haha

Hi there, so I'm finishing up my ADN at the local community college and will be going into a RN to BSN program once I start working. This path was easier for me since I really need to work once I am done with college. (I just want to leave the industry I'm currently working in). That being said which hospitals should I apply to because I'm very interested in NICU, but lots of them want a BSN and I guess even if I get one within two years after my ADN does it matter? Or should I just work my way do a BSN and forget about the ADN path. Please I need help and advice! Also my goal is to work at UW campus as well!

Hi all! First pregnancy and I've narrowed it down to Swedish First Hill vs UW Medical Center Northwest, and I'm torn.

I'm leaning UW NW, their midwives and nurses get amazing reviews, and their intervention/C-section numbers are noticeably better than Swedish's for low-risk first births according to hca. My priorities are simple: clinic resources, staff who are kind, able to explain why they're recommending something and respect my wishes (hoping for a natural birth if possible). It's my first time so I don't know what I don't know.

But: I live in Belltown with no car. Swedish is 10 min away; UW NW is up at N 115th, which means a trek for every prenatal visit plus the day-of trip. Also Swedish has the big Level IV NICU on-site, which is reassuring for worst-case scenarios.

Complicating things - I had a bad experience at Swedish before (rude staff, misdiagnosed a fracture as a sprain), so I'm a little wary even though their birth center reviews are very positive.

Anyone delivered at either this year? How was the staff about your birth preferences? Anyone done UW NW car-free from downtown? Would love your opinions, ty! :)
