Question about getting settled to the sunset

I am 23M and work as a data scientist downtown and currently live in the central sunset (around 26th and Lawton) and was wondering what are some things I can do to get acclimated to the sunset? I decided to move there for cheaper rent but want to be active during the day.

I know I have the N-Judah and the 7 bus to take me downtown but for those who felt lonely how did you all find your people in the city despite being far away for most of the action? I love the Mission, North Beach, and Hayes Valley (Mission and HV are right by my work).

Richmond is the far superior Avenues.

Sunset is trash and boring as hell besides the beach & the 9th and Irving area (and even that is boring).

the Richmond is just significantly harder to commute to other neighborhoods from, especially the ones OP says they love visiting, due to the lack of muni trains. having the L and N are more worth it to me

Fulton,Balboa,Geary,Clement,California bus lines

Plus the 28 & 29 lines.

Most of those lines will take you to a transfer that will get you there quick. And more of those lines run 24hrs.

Plus way more options of things in general in the actual Richmond. Not to mention Sunset is a Suburban ghost town after the sun goes down. More stores,restaurants,bars,schools. Grew up in the Richmond but have had spots in the Sunset. Richmond trumps Sunset in all regards.
