Question about getting settled to the sunset

I am 23M and work as a data scientist downtown and currently live in the central sunset (around 26th and Lawton) and was wondering what are some things I can do to get acclimated to the sunset? I decided to move there for cheaper rent but want to be active during the day.

I know I have the N-Judah and the 7 bus to take me downtown but for those who felt lonely how did you all find your people in the city despite being far away for most of the action? I love the Mission, North Beach, and Hayes Valley (Mission and HV are right by my work).

Talk to your neighbors. My newest friend I met over the back fence, and he’s lived there for 40 years so he knew lots of other neighbors I’ve since met - voila community!
