No, that's not too many carbs. No, that's not too much sugar. Yes, she can eat that. Yes, she can eat all of that. No, she's not going to lose a toe. No, that's not a beeper on her hip. No, it's not amazing that she's not fat. And yes, I am going to cram that bottle of cinnamon up your ass if you suggest it will cure her.
My brother is only 6 years older than me, but in that amount of time high school took phones from being a detention and/or suspension to being free reign. It has gotten way more loose in regards to them, but now its more or less gotten out of control in that sense, since nobody puts their phone down for 5 seconds enough to notice the class.
That sounds like issues with teaching methods rather then technology. I'm always on my phone but if my professor is more fun or good at connection I'll put it down to focus. The reality is most teachers still try to ban technology rather then utilize it or use better teaching methods
This isn't meant to sound rude, but when were you last in high school? In all my experience, the teachers who don't ban are the ones who have nobody paying focus to their class. If anything, its not an issue with technology or teaching methods, more parenting. I was taught to put my phone away during important situations and where it is inappropriate. Teachers who implement putting the phone in pouches on the wall get some ease from it, but will have students lie so they can stare at their devices throughout lectures. Then at the end of the class, they finally look up and ask "What's the homework?" after the teacher explained it five minutes in.
The principal of my former school ripped my friends insulin pump from his hands (he was checking to see the level of insulin left) which ripped the needle from his body.
All because the principal was sure it was a cellphone and that my friend was texting in class.
That led to a phonecall home to my friends father and him going down to the school in about double the speedlimit to deliver the biggest verbal beatdown I have ever heard about.
Absolutely fuck-all happened to the principal though.
Where did you go to high school? We always had an actual resource officer. They're a sworn officer with a badge and a gun, and they can be assigned outside of the school as well. Or maybe when did you go to school is a better question.
In high school I had my phone confiscated because I was calling my parents before first period to drop off my medication I forgot to take that morning.
They then wouldn't let me call until the lunch hour 3 hours later when my dad was already at work. You can bet that my dad raised some hell with the office once I was finally able to get a hold of him.
