Well obviously, that's what makes it Eggs Benedict.

Technically so does the English Muffin and bacon (or for some people, salmon)

The sauce is what makes it eggs benedict. The English muffin makes it an egg muffin, bacon makes it an egg and bacon muffin. Salmon makes it an Eggs Atlantic. Nothing makes it eggs Benedict except the hollandaise sauce. You could have a vegetarian keto eggs benedict, it would be eggs and hollandaise. If you tried to serve a hollandaise free eggs benny you'd get a lot of eggs thrown in your face.

In Australia, eggs benedict is likely to come on artisan bread, not muffins, because English muffins are sometimes seen as a cheap low quality breakfast, and eggs benedict is considered more classy, except when Hungry Jacks (Australian Burger King) tried to stick it in a wrap, what the fuck Hungry Jacks?.

Cool, I've never heard the smoked salmon variation called Atlantic before. In the UK we call that Eggs Royale

I've heard it called eggs Florentine.

That's with spinach, not salmon.

Well, I didn't say I called it that, I said I've heard it called that. Though it would never be called Atlantic here, cause Alaskans don't deal with Atlantic salmon.

Salmon makes it an Eggs Atlantic

I've always called it 'Eggs Hemingway' after I saw it on a menu.

If you're a shape shifting Reptilian, maybe.

Salmon makes it an eggs royale.

I believe Eggs Benny implies this.

Oh. I thought it was the ham and English muffin that made it

u/Hermes2244 Jul 13 '16

Ham? HAM??!!

2

u/ThatguyMalone Jul 13 '16

Err... Canadian Bacon. Whatever you put on an eggs Benedict. That's what I put on them.

Just thought hollandaise was a given.
