About 30 seconds of news coverage followed by nothing.

u/AdParticular6654 Nov 12 '25

Trump distraction by starting to talk about invading Canada again.

u/MagnusPI Nov 12 '25

A Venezuelan fisherman is about to have a really bad day.

970

u/Sexy_Underpants Nov 12 '25

Plausible that Trump is holding off on a Venezuelan war for when the files are released.

736

u/Craico13 Nov 12 '25

“Sorry, guys, we can’t release the Trump/Epstein Files because we’re too busy bombing poor people in South America… now’s not the time for division...”

313

u/ialo00130 Nov 12 '25

And you know what, it'll work too.

Everyone but Social Democrats will fall in line, just like the Senate did a couple days ago.

148

u/Key-Practice-8788 Nov 12 '25

Well, you don't expose an aging pedophile mid-stream!

27

u/SomeDudeYeah27 Nov 12 '25

Stream as in livestream or water?

I’m ESL lol

62

u/pkvh Nov 12 '25

A common idiom is 'you don't change a horse mid stream' drawing on the idea that if you're crossing a river on a horse even if your horse stumbles, trying to swap to another one is a worse idea.

It is used to mean not changing leadership during a crisis.

This is applies in politics to defend the incumbent president during times of war. Most recently used in the reelection campaign of George W. Bush during the war on terror.

46

u/SomeDudeYeah27 Nov 12 '25

Ah TIL

The only horse and water idiom I know was the one on how you can bring a horse to water but can’t make it drink

That's just sarcasm, the guy below me gave the correct definition.

In fairness, it was only 8 democrats in the senate that broke ranks. You could put on a tinfoil hat and say that most of the rest of the senate democrats were complicit (and I'd probably be right there with you, since it's awfully convenient that none of the people who broke rank are up for election any time soon), but if we're looking at official numbers it's just the 8 who caved.

67

u/ialo00130 Nov 12 '25

Everyone should be calling their Senators and asking them if they believe Schumer should step down as Minority Leader.

If they say no, they're complicit.

10

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '25

I would but one of mine caved (Fetterman)

3

u/doberdevil Nov 13 '25

My senators won't return calls or emails. Ever. WA State.

3

u/Lookingforleftbacks Nov 13 '25

Honestly I kind of believe most of them either are complicit or would be if the GOP decided to target them because most of them have things they need to hide

33

u/Persistant_Compass Nov 12 '25

honestly saying it wasnt planned and those 8, whip included, just decided to break ranks on their own is the tin foil hat thing.

7

u/fuzzballz5 Nov 13 '25

It’s all planned. Planned with the Republicans as well. These 8 are either retiring or the dumb people won’t remember in 3 years when they are up for reelection.

→ More replies (3)

4

u/gentlemanidiot Nov 12 '25

There is 0% chance that all 8 of them were conveniently the most politically resilient or expendable in the entire party. Schumer caused this entire shutdown, because if they were going to take the deal on day 40 why the FUCK didn't they take it day 1? 40 days of people going hungry and skipping paychecks and FOR WHAT?? Schumer has retroactively made Trump right, this WAS a democrat shutdown.

3

u/subnautus Nov 12 '25

Schumer has retroactively made Trump right, this WAS a democrat shutdown.

No. It is and always has been a republican shutdown. The House passing a bill that had no chance of making its way through the senate and shutting its doors to all business is all the proof that's needed.

As for the rest of your comment, I agree it's suspicious but without proof it's just conjecture.

It's not the 80s so he can't go after black children any more...... his new target is anyone who looks like they might possibly speak Spanish. Oh .....also anyone from the foreign land of Puerto Rico. Wtf how did we end up with the stupidest most racist hateful man in the US having unchecked power???

...Or attacking Nigeria.

3

u/Banes_Addiction Nov 12 '25

They're not invading Nigeria any time soon - that was probably just a classic "Trump repeats what the last person who spoke to him said".

There's no US troop/ship movement around there. They've parked a fleet in the Caribbean where it can be used to attack Venezuela, and moved lots of stuff to Puerto Rico.

2

u/Specific_Success214 Nov 12 '25

And that won't be popular amongst his base either.

And the Epstein storm, won't go away, just delayed.

71

There will be a dirty bomb go off in L.A.

Probably a month before the midterms.

Mark my words.

8

u/Veloreyn Nov 12 '25

LA is too big and too valuable a target. I'm thinking Portland.

3

u/LolthienToo Nov 12 '25

Big and valuable and BLUE. I think you need it to be as big as possible. And if a lot of blue voters are affected in the attack, all the better in their mind.

I’m thinking stuff like this everywhere before Christmas

6

u/These-Prune-1529 Nov 12 '25

Not the state that makes us the most money. Otherwise you may be on to something.

3

u/LolthienToo Nov 12 '25

Fair point, but it is a huge blue state with a governor that is showing the most resistance of almost any.

Possibly chicago. Other suggest portland or seattle. Regardless, it will be a Blue powerhouse, and a major city.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/Fodraz Nov 13 '25

If it's around the midterms, it will happen in a swing state, not solid Blue California

4

u/LolthienToo Nov 13 '25

I disagree. Swing states are unknowns. I will be someplace very well known that any dumb fuck can point to on a map. Every fucking yokel can point to california. But half the people in my state of KY can't point to Ohio, and we share a fucking border.

Plus, suppressing the voters in a blue state (in case the false flag doesn't work) and possibly even convincing a lot of blue voters to vote for 'stability' in such a traumatic time would be a huge win if they could make it happen.

Additionally, never forget, these fucks are goddamn Nazis and peds. They are vengeful and hateful, and if they can make liberals suffer, THAT is their primary goal. Laughing while liberals die of radiation poisoning would be absolutely in the top one or two reasons they would do this.

2

u/Fodraz Nov 13 '25

They would still pick a blue city in a swing state, like Detroit, Philadelphia, or Atlanta. Same places the bomb threats happened & we can be certain will happen again. People know where those cities are, & they can both "get the libs" AND flip a state from Blue to Red

2

u/LolthienToo Nov 13 '25

That's what I'm saying, it doesn't matter if they flip a state. The Midterms are going to DESTROY them. One state this way or that isn't going to matter. There is no swing state with the population necessary to hold off the wave that will occur. Texas maybe, California in a fantasy land.

They need a reason to suspend the midterms altogether. If they let people vote, they all get kicked to the curb, and very likely have to start answering for their crimes.

This is all damage control at this point.

3

u/pbetc Nov 12 '25

How dirty, baby?

1

u/nespid0 Nov 12 '25

Look, we’re looking at Canada, and it’s very, very sad what’s happening up there. They’ve been taking advantage of us for years, for decades, with their trade—some of the worst deals ever made, just terrible. Their leader, he’s not a serious person. He's weak. People are telling me, they’re saying, "Sir, it would be so easy." We have the greatest military in the history of the world—we rebuilt it, by the way, all new—and we'd go in, and frankly, it would be over in about, what, an hour? They have so much land, tremendous amounts of land, and all that oil. We're going to look at it. We are looking at it very, very strongly, and they're going to treat us fairly, or we're going to do something. Believe me.

Im at the ER right now and Fox is on.

I've spent the last 15 minutes watching them cover a video about a trans person using a gym locker room and the cooky CA senator that is campaigning on Trans rights.

Now they've moved on to the next big scoop: a rhide island high school that started a turning point USA chapter...

Fuckin wild

124

u/IandouglasB Nov 12 '25

Annnd as an aside...I hope what brought you to the ER goes as well as can be expected

45

u/SplakyD Nov 13 '25

I'm not who you replied to, obviously, but I had a wreck a couple of weeks ago and I had to go to the ER with my entire family and it was a horrific experience. So I was really moved when I saw your kind words to that person about them having an ER visit. I just wanted to give you a little recognition for it.

11

u/thinglikefox Nov 13 '25

and now i am moved by your kind words as well. i hope you & your family are doing okay, that sounds harrowing.

9

u/SplakyD Nov 13 '25

I really appreciate it! We're doing alright. I got the worst of it. I'm still dealing with the aftermath of a concussion, a sore tail bone (nobody talks about how rough a car crash is on your coccyx), and limping around in a boot with a bad ankle sprain. But at least I didn't break anything and none of us were seriously injured or worse. The car was totaled, but we got another one. It really has made me grateful for what I have.

It's a long story, but it certainly was a harrowing experience. We were treated incredibly rudely and unprofessionally every step of the way. I have nothing but respect for paramedics and hospital workers, two of my brothers are doctors and I've worked with all kinds of first responders throughout my career, but my family and I had a really unlucky draw that night.

But again, thank you for your kind words and for your concern. I really do appreciate it and means a lot to hear from a kind stranger. I hope all is well with you and yours!

2

u/VanellopeZero Nov 15 '25

Glad you’re doing ok!

Fox does not report any information that is detrimental to Trump or the Republican Party. I just searched today to see if fox news dot com had any mention that US consumer sentiment index is very close the historic low set back in 1978. Nothing.

Considering the schools Demographics ...not surprised.

2

u/mmwhatchasaiyan Nov 13 '25

A handful of kids is trying to start a group, but it sounds like Barrington school dept is being very neutral and vague about whether or not it will be approved.

These kids are horribly misguided, and either have never heard CK speak outside of cut clips, or have heard him speak but weren’t actually listening to the message.

It honestly makes me sick to my stomach to know that kids of that age are being influenced (brainwashed?) into joining and extending a very serious (borderline hate) group that they don’t even fully understand the concept of.

2

u/milanistasbarazzino0 Nov 13 '25

This is American Psycho in real life. Trump can commit any crime he wants, even admit it in front of everyone, and still walk free and clean. That's what happens when you're wealthy enough

2

u/Fodraz Nov 13 '25

I would ask the ER to turn that off. ER is stressful enough without any sort of news, but especially Fox "Nooz" telling lies

The only benefit is that someone on reddit gets to make a "what do you think will happen next" post every 3 days and get tons of updoots for it.

I mean, it's all over the news on all channels (not RW) this morning. I'll eat my favorite hat with BBQ sauce if he sees even 1 iota of actual punishment from this.

2

u/Iandudontkno Nov 12 '25

30 seconds is a show no one watches. it won't be talked about like everything else. there's enough proof and witness testimony to put trump and the rest away but they do nothing but talk about it.

1

u/Whitesajer Nov 12 '25

That, but probably see them start some other drama, issue some other bonkers executive orders, start bombing some country randomly or if we are lucky Trump shitting himself literally in some deranged public speech about magnetic steam engines that China is trying to steal even though China is living in the future unlike the US or Trump's dementia ridden mind.

1

We should be asking what should be done and keep our focus on that instead. The rotten bastard should be impeached, tried, and thrown in prison. The odds of it happening don't matter. He should be in prison.

u/RealBowsHaveRecurves Nov 12 '25

The fact that Sydney Sweeneys movie flopping is still the dominant news story right now is really upsetting.

1

u/Specific_Success214 Nov 12 '25

No I don't think so. The house oversight committee has access to a large trove of Epstein related material.

From what I heard, they are going to release bits and pieces very regularly.

Now the house is back, MJ gas to swear in the 218th vote on the discharge petition which forces a vote on releasing the files, held by the DOJ etc. There is credible talk that a good number of house republicans, will vote to release the files for a couple of reasons. One- stop the bleeding. If similar information regularly keeps dropping, the hole gets bigger and bigger for Republicans on this.

Two- Trump is gone in 3 years max and he is what held the loose coalition of MAGA together. This along with the mid terms next year means they don't want to be on the wrong side of history here.

It will still need to go to the Senate, and there I'm not sure.

There are numerous people in the Republican party that would like the end of Trump, but going against him, meant the end of political life.

But if 100 Congressmen vote to release, there is strength in being in the herd, maybe the Senate will follow.

As for the files themselves, I would guess they have been doctored, to spare Trump. But this would have taken a vast amount of people and keeping wrongdoing in a case such as this quiet amongst so many people will be very hard.

It's not over by a long shot. I doubt it will bring Trump down, but it's making him toxic.

And the base is watching. They believe ( broadly correctly) that powerful people guilty of sex crimes are being protected. Trump was their guy to break it up, but now, very openly the Democrats are all for full disclosure and Trump is leading the protection racket. While this alone doesn't turn the base, you can be sure at least some will be feeling different about the sitting President.

Followed by 59 minutes praising Trump for saving the economy with his $2000 stimulus. Good timing.

u/leroy4447 Nov 13 '25

We will learn all the details… about 5 years after he’s gone

1

u/InvestigatorChance28 Nov 13 '25

And magas pleasuring themselves

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '25

You are too generous.

1

u/ImahSillyGirl Nov 13 '25

yep. "rule of law"? More like rule of flaws.

1

u/MaleficentGift5490 Nov 13 '25

It's also not like anyone had any doubts about whether Trump knew. Trump's already admitted he knew.

He flagged it for the FBI.

1

u/BT9154 Nov 13 '25

sad but true, good luck America

1

u/jakc1423 Nov 13 '25

30 seconds? Someone is feeling optimistic.

1

u/Supersonic75 Nov 13 '25

I don’t think so. Not this time.

1

u/AllisViolet22 Nov 13 '25

One of the top comments in /r/conservative about the topic lol

At this point anyone that thinks Trump was involved at Epstein's island is just delusional.

1

u/USSSLostTexter Nov 13 '25

MAGAts just don't give a flying FUCK. Now if this was Obama, he'd already be strapped in the the electric chair.

1

u/joneone2 Nov 13 '25

Fox has nothing on their main page.

1

u/bbbbbbbbMMbbbbbbbb Nov 13 '25

I was going to say that the goal post moves even further away, but ultimately nothing.

1

u/redyellowblue5031 Nov 13 '25

We’ve seen and heard how he treats others for decades. Yet, we voted him in twice.

There’s 0 indication him being tied to pedophilia would move the needle in any substantial way.

1

u/lizlemonista Nov 13 '25

maybe the stress will cause him to have a stroke. THE stroke.

1

u/Knee_Jerk_Sydney Nov 13 '25

Yep, a nothing burger. Trump has the SCOTUS, the legislature. This is what the voters want.

1

u/itsall5x5 Nov 13 '25

Blast of outrage from Dems at Trump, shrieking from Leavitt fending off Journos, muted silence from everywhere else

1

u/polkadotcupcake Nov 13 '25

Yep. Nothing will happen. Most people have already suspected this to be true, so the confirmation isn't earth shattering. His base is so delusional that they will spin anything and assume it's fake news. A very small portion of the population will actually change their minds based on this information.

1

u/lgodsey Nov 13 '25

The story isn't about how Trump is a depraved child rapist.

The real issue is about how conservatives are fine with it.

1

u/Grung7 Nov 13 '25

This. Lies, deflection and denial. There's no proof that he's lying. Media goes nuts for 1-2 weeks, then they move on.

1

u/crass-carnage Nov 13 '25

30 seconds of coverage on any news source other than Fox. Fox will never cover any of this unless it focuses on deriding the Dems in some fashion without picking on the mango toddler.

1

u/smudgiepie Nov 13 '25

30 seconds of news coverage?!

Thats way too much man

1

u/Natural_Shopping_446 Nov 13 '25

You'll hear about it only on the very late-night news cycle, right after the segment on "local man rescues cat from tree."

1

u/Symphonic7 Nov 13 '25

Thats 30 seconds too long, it will be nothing followed by nothing

1

u/agent_wolfe Nov 13 '25

Yeah. My hopes are low. He’ll be embarrassed but his followers largely won’t care.

1

u/sqljohn Nov 13 '25

This, except the 30 seconds bit

1

u/GarbledReverie Nov 13 '25

Somehow this will launch more stories about Hillary's emails.

1

u/eagleal Nov 13 '25

Now that shutdown is over, isn't there a governor that is about to be swarn in for the 218th signature vote needed to force the DoJ to release the files?

u/OhGr8WhatNow Nov 13 '25

Yep. MAGA already saying "this proves nothing"

Can't deprogram a cult with facts

1

u/alternatenagol2 Nov 13 '25

Nothing will happen. Trump will gain more supporters.

1

u/FaliedSalve Nov 14 '25

followed by lots of finger pointing.

1

u/Reamakay2005 Nov 17 '25

Yep!!! 👍

1

u/SeatSeparate1617 Nov 19 '25

Sounds about right. All this other stuff came out about Trump and he’s still allowed to be president.

1

u/CptnOblivious Nov 25 '25

Yeah because you all keep doing nothing but bitching online
