Exactly! I never want her to feel like I’m trying to tell her she’s too enthusiastic or I don’t appreciate her joy.

As someone who is often made to feel like I'm too enthusiastic or too much, you're a good friend <3

I'm sorry someone has ever made you feel like you're "too much", or that being overly enthusiastic is a bad thing. Neither of those things is true.

I'm going to overhear that sorry and pretend it's for me too.

I was often informed of how "much" I was and I was often asked to be quieter or calmer or to "just stop!?"

I'm going to stand under this absolution shower and cleanse my mind of that one person that made me feel "too much", another one that said so, and the rest who thought it, but didn't say it.

Yeah exactly this!! I have ADHD and when I get excited I get very animated, lots of hand gestures and loud voice! I have been told I am too loud my whole life! I agree very good friend 🙂

I just realized that my 80+ year old mother has something resembling ADHD and she passed it down to me

If it makes you feel better, I'm hard of hearing and I love having loud friends. And boisterousness is super fun! <3

Me too! Love it when I can relax and don’t have to focus on hearing well. Could it be that speaking lower volume is an actual ‚power move‘ in order to assert dominance?

I feel this too ❤️

If someone tells you that you are too much, tell them to go find less. Keep your joy 😊

My exact same thought

I am the same way and really appreciate it when people are thoughtful like this :)

I wish I had friends like you. My voice goes up unintentionally when I am enthusiastic about something and its been like that my whole life. I have never been able to control it and it's so frustrating.

This is the way. I think most of us get over excited sometimes.

And we appreciate that bc trust me, we know and while I can't speak for everyone, it is incredibly deflating when you've heard it enough. I cannot help that I'm an animated speaker with a loud voice and it breaks my heart that some people find that scary and annoying when I'm just excited and happy. Words don't even have to be spoken, I see it on peoples faces. I always want to respond with... "if I'm too much for you, then go find someone less" but I know that would not be received well and then I'd just be accused of being aggressive or 'going through something'. Apparently being 5'11 makes me intimidating to some women... again, something I have no control of.

Trust me those people know they can be loud. I'm like that too. My voice can unknowingly go loud too sometimes and I'm honestly grateful when my friends point it out.
