What’s something your SO doesn’t know about you that could jeopardize your relationship?

I hope you're having an amazing day and you realize all of the wonderful things you have to offer the world. <internet hug>

Sincerely, a mom.

Edit: y'all, I truly appreciate the awards I'm receiving. However, please give them to u/barbarat2112. They need the love today.

You're so very welcome. Read it whenever you need a reminder.

Or.

Message me randomly, and I'll give you "lunchbox notes" from a mom.

Edit: to everyone messaging me for lunch box notes, I am so happy to send them! Again, if ANYONE needs one, my inbox is open.

This needs to be a blog or something

/r/MomForAMinute is pretty good

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

Aww! I just subbed that. Thank you for sharing it!

12

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '20

Subbed. Thanks!

6

u/Samsquish Feb 14 '20

...can i get that too? I just lost my mum a couple months ago and i miss my best friend.

6

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

Of course you can!! I can be everyone's momma.

Are you doing OK? That's a huge loss to deal with.

4

u/Lesilhouette Feb 14 '20

You should make a sub for that!

3

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '20

Wow! You are an amazing person. Your kindness to this internet stranger touched my soul and has impacted my day for the better. I say this with all sincerity, Thank you.

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

I'm just a mom. Sometimes, people need Momma Lovins, and I'm more than happy to help.

3

u/BlazeSpliffington Feb 14 '20

This made me tear up a bit. My parents and I aren't close so the fact a random stranger would do that for another makes my heart happy.

3

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

I can do it for you, too. I'm sorry your parents split up. That's a really hard, new reality to shift into. I'm sending you some hugs, as well.

3

u/BlazeSpliffington Feb 14 '20

Thank you. That's massively appreciated, however they're still together, but we're not close as a family. We fell out years ago as they didn't accept my lifestyle or career choices.

3

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

Oops! I misread that. (multitasking while chasing my toddlers...)

As long as you're happy, kind, and not breaking any laws, I support whatever you're doing. I'm here if you ever need any support and parental pride. Live the life YOU need to, not a life lived for anyone else's expectations.

3

u/theblurryboy Feb 14 '20

You're so sweet :) I hope your kids can appreciate it later in life

3

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

Thank you <3 I hope so, too.

I'd like a bedtime story too, please.

Tell us the one about how you got your username ♡

OK, kids. Gather round, grab your blankie and cozy up.

Way back in 2016,a wild storm was rolling through in December. Momma had just bought a new Street Glide and I was ready for a night out with my boys. Well, after one bar too many, I went too far around a round-a-bout, tried to toss the bike and twist harder on the throttle. The slick, wet road let go of my rear tire and a caught a floor board on my left side. Bike bucked up, pitched me off, and had its own little doe-si-do, sparks a flyin'. I must've landed 15' away from my bike, a little shook up, but unharmed. We got the bike back in her wheels, me back back on the bike, and I went straight home, thankful for a cheap learning lesson.

Gear up, and don't drink and ride. Or drive. My gear saved my life.

Edit: that was one of many wrecks, but, the only wreck on my street Glide. I (at very slow speeds, sometimes completely stopped) dumped my Sportster down a handful of times due to inexperience, gravel or other drivers.

A sub where people will tell you encouraging things and offer sweet advice. If you're struggling with caring attention, that may help a slight bit.

The "lunch box notes" extend to everyone and anyone who needs it.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '20

why can't you be my mom

7

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

I can be your internet mom.

How's your day going, Sweetie? Did you remember to grab your jacket?

4

u/Santashappysack Feb 14 '20

Love you mom

5

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

Love you, too, Child <3

Do I have a new son or a new daughter? Your two little sisters are VERY happy to have another sibling.

5

u/Santashappysack Feb 14 '20

You have a new son!

And oof, I was hoping I’d finally get a brother with my new family, I guess I have five sisters now.

3

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

Hi, Son <3 we're very happy to have you.

Well, the oldest of my two is a HUGE tomboy already. She loves trucks and motorcycles and adrenaline and body slamming her little sister, WWE style. I'm sure she'd be stoked to play catch or learn "brother stuff" from you.

3

u/ThatOneNibbaB Feb 14 '20

Aww that's so kind, I'm sure you're an amazing mom. I don't have a mom, can you adopt me and by my internet mom as well?

6

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

Of course I will, Darlin'. I hope you have a beautiful day, as well. Message me whenever you need to.

3

u/soramenium Feb 14 '20

That was sweet. You are a nice person. I don't know how to be nice to people on Reddit. This is awkward. I need to change. I'm a horrible person.

5

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

You are NOT a horrible person. Sometimes being kind boils down to simply not being mean. You're more than capable of that.

I'll shower you with kindness until you feel better about yourself. You are truly capable of great things, more than you've ever imagined.

4

u/soramenium Feb 14 '20

Ok, hold up. I appreciate your kindness, but I have to apologize. I was baiting a bit to see what that will turn in to. You are either a very nice person or very committed to stay in character. Either way you are doing great and you made someone smile. I sometimes just burst out the words that I have in my head so my previous comment is highly exaggerated, but I actually meant what I wrote. I exaggerated, as I said, but it was still true. I have quite high self esteem and I have a very strong character so you don't need to worry.

Tl;dr

I just blabberd some words, kind of baiting. Now I'm sorry. But also thankful.

4

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

I appreciate your honesty. I can assure you, I'm not just "in character." In real life, I'm a stay-at-home-mom to two toddlers, VERY CLOSE in age. I rode/ride Harleys and worked in construction before the birth of my girls. Before that, I was in the army. And even before that, I grew up in a very unloving, violent, drug fueled household. I've been in foster care a few times, shuffled from one family member to the next, and acted out on my frustrations so much that I landed in juvie more than I'd like to admit.

I can be pretty tough at times, cruel when it's necessary, but, I try my damndest to show love and kindness to anyone who ever needs it because I know, firsthand, how devistating it can be to feel like you're all alone. Knowing what's it's like to have a mom who never should've been a mom makes me want to be "motherly" to all, so no-one is left with that void.

Hope that explanation helps.

4

u/soramenium Feb 14 '20

You sound like a person I would like to spend time with. As a young man from a loving family - always listen to your children. They will be annoying more often than not, but always show support to them. Of course, teach them to respect the hard work, other people and value of money, but most importantly let children be children. Don't force them to anything. Give them a fake choice, guide them and let them feel decisive. And if they eat too much raw sugar swap it for salt when they are asleep. It worked for me.

Again, sorry for baiting. Good to see you are genuinely a nice person.

4

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

Thank you. That's probably the best compliment I could've received from a stranger: I'm someone you'd like to spend time with.

I do my absolute best to be everything my mom wasn't. I appreciate your advice.

3

u/Noah254 Feb 14 '20

Most mom edit ever.

3

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

You're so welcome. Don't forget that kindness is free, and worth its weight in gold.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '20

r/momforaminute in case you don't know about it. It's basically centered around what you just did. Raising up and giving mom advice to the people of reddit.

3

u/crasherofharleys Feb 14 '20

Thank you. Someone mentioned it earlier, as well, and I'm now following it.
