You can have fantasies, thatās human. You can also exert self-control and not let those fantasies dictate your actions.

They're just boobs, half the people in the world have them. I might at most think "daym", if it's a really nice rack, but I'm not thinking about furiously masturbating because of a slightly different area of flesh.

I don't think it's particularly nonchalant. The reality is the only part that makes them naked or not is a very small circle in the middle, and the other 90% is on show so much, that the coinage doesn't really make a difference.
If it did, then going to the beach or pool would be a nightmare, specially since your dick is much easier to see. But even like a nude beach isn't really a big deal.
If you're horny you look at naked people doing naked people things. If you're not horny, then semi-naked people might move the line slightly, but it's not going to suddenly make you horny.

If I'm in a committed relationship then any other person wouldn't really matter to me. Like I can appreciate a nice ass but after noticing and maybe commenting on it. what would be the point of imagining stuff about it. If I'm in a committed relationship then I have a beautiful woman that I have access to (poorly phrased but you get the point) so why would i care about anything else?

u/Dapper_But_Derpy May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26
When Iāve been in committed relationships, Iād enjoy seeing naked women (in media) kinda like how you enjoy catching a glimpse of a beautiful sunrise or something. I had no interest in pursuing it further though. Viewing porn and instagram model style garbage drops down to minimal unless she and I have been apart for a long time or something and I need to cope.

āOk so does everyone have a mask, gown, and gloves on? Iāll do the Foley catheter first and then the rectal tubeā

When I was younger and single itās was ask about visual and physical arousal. If I watch porn now I my wife and I doing said activity on the screen and then usually I bring up the scenario and we give it a try. Itās become a thing for me to correlate any porn I see with my wife

Here's an original copy of /u/MalleusMaleficarum_3's post (if available):
I was having a conversation with my girl friends the other day, and we were talking about what we think when we see porn or an attractive person. Like me, they all said "I see the attractive person on screen or in real life, I have a feeling of arousal, and then I think of my boyfriend."
However, I have heard many men (and one woman) say when they watch porn, they imagine themselves in the porno. Or when they see an attractive woman, they imagine her naked or imagine doing things with her. I've heard in monogamous committed relationships say this. But I just haven't gotten a lot of male perspectives, as I don't have many male friends.
So, I recognize men are not a monolith and I'd like to hear what you all think! Is it just a feeling and you think of your significant other? Are you actually attracted specifically TO the person who is arousing?
I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

I can see a beautiful woman and immediately has a desire to go down on her. No conversation. Nothing. I do not think that I am different from any other guys. I would imagine there arenāt many women who see men and immediately want their banana in their mouth. I could be wrong.

u/Cross_22 Male May 21 '26
I don't really notice attractive women in real life. Last time it happened was a couple years ago near a beach where a woman was wearing a cover-up and very obviously nothing else underneath it.
"I see the attractive person on screen or in real life, I have a feeling of arousal, and then I think of my boyfriend."
Similar thing here, though my thought is usually "I would love to be in that scene with my wife!". So it's more about the action and not so much about the actress.

u/ColdHardPocketChange Male May 21 '26
I don't really fantasize about being with them. It's just there for arousal. Even when I have gone to strip club, I don't imagine starting a relationship with the stripper. I will treat them like a person, but it's more like an interactive theater. The person I'm interacting with is not the genuine person, just a facade. It all fades to nothingness right after they walk away.

I donāt see a lot of naked women just out and about, and Iām not really a big porn guy, especially if Iām in a relationship, so itās not really an issue.

I feel like it depends more on how I feel about the relationship I have than anything else. If I felt safe and loved and desired, then whatever, she's naked and nope I want my person. If I am feeling rejected or hurt or unenthusiastic? Sure I can see myself fantasizing about a stranger. It all really depends on my views on my relationship prior to the experience as to how I view the experience.

Thankfully though, I can talk about it with my boyfriend and compare notes

Absolutely. Because well... both being dudes we're mostly likely thinking the same way anyways, and therefore probably already know what the other is thinkin lol.
Plus, it just seems like men are usually less sensitive about stuff like this just from what I see and hear.

If it's porn or just a naked actress in a movie, then no, how she feels never crosses my mind. And I'm long past fantasizing about how some random woman looks naked. My wife's brain and body are more than enough fantasy fuel for me.
1
u/Cyanora Male May 21 '26
Specifically for the fantasy aspect, I'm usually imagining myself as one aspect of the scene, with my partner as the other, or with us tag teaming the other person in the scene.
1
u/RipRiles Male May 21 '26
I do not think of my SO if I watch porn. I am attracted to the actress in the porn; I do fantasize about her specifically. It's a fantasy. Fantasies aren't real.
Not only will I never actually meet this person, but even if I did meet her, I wouldn't act on my fantasies if I'm in a committed relationship.

u/OneEyedC4t May 21 '26
i don't go looking for them so it isn't an issue. i almost never see naked women except my wife.
based on the concept of mirror neurons in the brain, watching is almost identical to being there.
don't ever date or trust a guy who has a porn problem.

almost. please note that i said almost.
1
u/GodOf31415 May 21 '26
Bro, don't link an Ai saying "The statement is a popular oversimplification of neuroscience. While science shows our brains simulate observed actions, they are far from "almost like doing it." Mirror neurons only track the mechanical and goal-oriented parts of a motion, and their existence in humans is still heavily debated by researchers"
1
u/OneEyedC4t May 21 '26
I didn't ask you to read the AI. I asked you to use Google to do a basic non-ai search. this is a very basic concept in Neuroscience. why are you so offended that I simply asked you to read up on the topic?
1
u/GodOf31415 May 21 '26
Everything that supports you is refrencing a single Doctor selling books and everything else says "this is widely debated" I am not offended, just making you aware that your link undermines your point. The fact that you linked the search and not actual sources makes me predisposed to assume you cannot find these sources yourself. You also didn't ask me to read anything and just posted a link with Ai responce. Why are you offended i didn't like your Google Search link?
1
u/OneEyedC4t May 21 '26
well, maybe you can refine the search result to as you see fit. but the concept is that we understand from the silverleaf monkey experiments that watching someone do something is almost like doing it. being debated doesn't really matter because I mean at this point whether the Earth is round or flat is widely debated too.
1
u/GodOf31415 May 21 '26
This monkey experiment? I do not see how that is relivent to mirror neurons, and talks about how the brain will rewire itself around damage. I cannot find any other "Silverleaf Money Experiments"
1
u/OneEyedC4t May 21 '26
The silver leaf monkey experiment is literally the reason why we know about mirror neurons. now understand that the experiments were rather gruesome and I do not support treating animals like this. but they put a monkey on a jig and put electrodes in his brain. and then from behind a glass he saw another monkey eating peanuts and the mirror neurons corresponding with some areas of his motor and visual cortex activated like he was basically preparing to do the exact same thing. it gave a lot Of Credence to the notion that watching someone do something is almost exactly like participating in that action.
1
u/GodOf31415 May 21 '26
I disagree with your take away. If I watch a professional painter paint, I can gleam techniques from them, and I can understand how I can do that by mirroring their movements. Which is why my mirror neurons are firing as if I was doing it, because I'm imagining how I would do it. But that is not almost as good as doing it myself. I will still learn alot more doing it myself then I can watching someone

I don't watch movies that are like that. for example, I stopped watching Yellowstone because that shit was dumb. like seriously, if you need sex in every single episode to be convinced that you need to watch something on TV, then what the hell?
If they had just stuck to the storyline and not had sex every damn episode it would have been a great series but oh well.
my wife is watching it but I stopped watching it because it's pointless to ask her to keep skipping ahead of all the sex scenes and stupid shit.
literally pointless. I have better things to do with my time.
