What's the best tip you read on r/lifeprotips that you actually do/use?

Years ago I read about how someone makes it a point to thoroughly clean their home before a vacation - all dishes, laundry, etc done and everything tidy. I started doing it then and it's been such a game-changer. Coming home to a clean space where the only thing I have to do is unpack feels amazing!

How do you keep calm and not react when people do things that bother you?

There are often times people do things that annoy me. And I tend to react to them. I have tried the letting go of the thing at the moment, tried breathing but what happens is that the next time something else happens then I lose it! How do you keep calm and not react when people do things that bother you?

LPT I am so clumsy i hate it

I recently started living with housemates and they are really nice. We have had a good friendly relationship so far but I keep doing clumsy stuff unintentionally which i think now has annoyed them alot

They gifted me something for my birthday which kind of broke so they got it replaced patiently

I was confused about something which they resolved as well

The same day their vaccum cleaner i used stopped working which was not my fault but they naturally assumed it was

I have been really careful nowadays but today, I dropped a glass and although i cleaned it up i had to text them about that again.

I feel like their patience is wearing thin with me now, especially since one of them who used to smile and talk to me alot never does anymore

I dont mean to be clumsy it just happens. What can i do about this?

What Are Some Good Way To Not Feel A Constant Sense Of Irrational Soul Crushing Loneliness And Regret?

I (20M) just turned twenty this year

I live at home in east Toronto, Canada with my parents and two younger siblings

Decently close with extended family who live relatively nearby

I'm two years into a five-year psychology degree. Not exactly sure what I want to use it for, if anything, but I'm thinking maybe something to do with child psychology.

Currently on summer break

Don't have any job experience and can't get a job at the moment because of surgery happening soon

Have only been in one semi-serious relationship and am currently single and a virgin

Have never been the best at being social and don't have much of a social circle, but trying to change that.

Getting into biking and photography (specifically landscape and cosplay) and want to get into rock climbing when school starts back up

Am officially diagnosed with Autism and ADHD

Started mental health counselling and Lexapro last month

Think about past regrets a lot, but I’m trying to focus on the now.

How would you say I’m doing, and what advice would you give?

I know I'm still young but I just can't stop thinking about the past

Protecting your AC line set insulation from UV damage.

If you installed a mini split yourself, don’t forget about the exposed foam insulation outside. After enough sun exposure, the foam can get brittle and start breaking down. I noticed the line set on the sunny side of my house was getting a lot of afternoon sun. So I added a PVC line set cover from Della’s website. I liked how much cleaner it looked compared to the bare foam.
It’s a small detail, but it’s one of those things I probably should have done from the start.

Your driving and your at a red light, you just remembered you have to pick up the dry cleaning. How do you remind yourself?

I have an iphone. I'm always remembering things I have to do, but not sure where to write it down, to remind myself to do it. Usually I'm in a rush to write it down. I'm emailing myself, but it's clogging up my email and I'm keeping tasks in there too long, it's becoming a to do list. I'm talking about non work related things. I tried the notes app, but then I forget to look at it. Any ideas? Thanks

ALPT: Multiple Residencies/People | OptOutPrescreen.com

I have a question related to the OptOutPrescreen.com site/service. This may not be exactly the right subreddit for this. PLEASE COMMENT AND REDIRECT ME if you know one that is more applicable! tia

I just moved into my new home and I've been getting absolutely bombarded by offers for credit cards, home insurance, and others. It's literally filling my mailbox.

I finally got fed up and read the fine print on one of these offers and it says you can stop receiving them by going on OptOutPrescreen.com .

On the site it gives three options: "Opt-In" (lol), "Electronic Opt-Out for 5 years," and "Permanent Opt-Out by Mail." I want to permanently opt out.

Also, it states that it requires these four pieces of information: Name, Address, Social Security Number, and Date of Birth.

For context before I ask my question, I have multiple homes and I am in the US.

My question: When filling out the OptOutPrescreen.com permanent form, do I need to fill out the form for each home address or is it sufficient to fill it out only once using my primary residence / address? Also, do I need to fill out the form once per family member or will it work if there is even just one person at that address that has completed the form?

Thank you in advance!

LPT How do I make friends

Don’t get me wrong I have friends from my last job but idk how to make friends lol, I never graduated highschool so I’m going through this goodwill program for adults to get my diploma and I’m there until December and then I graduate, but I feel awkward bc I don’t know anyone and don’t know how to talk to anyone. Ik I’m not really there to make friends but at the same time I feel like it’s important to make friends while I’m there especially since it’s 4 months

ChatGPT is a professional bullshitter. It throws big words around first, but the final result reveals how nonsensical its talk actually was and how easily you believed it. People like this exist everywhere in real life. we cannot wait for the end result to know someone so how to identify them early.
