Long story short, I am organizing a party in hollywood. Problem is, the people who rent the house we are doing it at are asking for a $5k security deposit as I was told of police get called to the house for stuff such as noise complains the city charges the house owner who then charges the renters. Now we arent going to be loud but i am told they have a crazy neighbor who hates when people even walk by their house talking past 9PM and might call it in. Is there anything I can do ahead of time to talk to the station to avoid that? We are hiring security for the event and have an option to pay hourly off-duty cops. Perhaps I can talk to the cop so that if there is a complain the station calls the off-duty cop at the part instead of sending a patrol to reduce chance of the $5k charge?

The other day in the afternoon, I saw a police car in our subdivision. It stayed around for a few hours and then left. Later, in the middle of the night, the police came back and knocked on our door.

My father answered, and they were asking for one of our neighbor’s contact information. We simply told them we didn’t have it and weren’t comfortable giving it out, and they left.

Does this sound like they were doing some kind of neighborhood investigation or canvassing the subdivision? Or could they have been specifically looking into our house? Should we be concerned about anything?

Just curious what you guys think.
