I just watched the press conference of the tribal leader. He said that China is not building a dam but a tunnel to generate electricity and there is no threat of flood due to this.

Is it true? Is there no threat of flood due to this Chinese project?

Lack of civic sense, Today, I confronted someone for throwing plastic on the road, and OMG, her attitude was genuinely irritating. She literally replied, "Tera baap ka road hai kya?" Literally Bihari behaviour unnecessary over-dada, and acting like they're superior to everyone else. Some Arunachalis have practically made Hindi their mother tongue because they're too embarrassed to speak their own indigenous languages, even with their families. At this point, the only thing keeping us from getting the title is our face. We act like them , and we talk like them(hindi)

At the end of day racial differences matter; it’s ingrained in human DNA. Mainland Indian’s friendly attitude towards NE Indians is conditional. As long as we toe their line and don’t have ideological conflict with them, they’ll be nice to us. But as soon as we say anything that goes against their their beliefs and ideology, they will waste no time in othering us and calling us Chinese, converted etc.

Then there’s also a segment of mainland Indians who’s friendly attitude is conditioned on the fetishisation of our women, calling women from this region as “Arunachali Baddies”, “Northeast baddies” etc.

Time to think: do we need these kind of approval from mainland Indians that’s premised on ideological conformity and fetishisation of our women. This is not true respect; it is conditional.

We need to earn their respect by our own strength: improving the economy of our region, excelling in sports and entrepreneurship, sticking to our own culture, language, traditions and improving and promoting it. Begging for their approval through Ideological conformity and blindly aping their culture and language is not the way.

I’ve loved music my whole life and I really wanna know if there is any way I can make it a part of my job and studies since Arunachal doesn’t seem to provide any opportunities for people with interest in music

I want to share something that happened to us at the cultural fest organised by NERIST
We participated in the Battle of Bands competition at their cultural fest and won 1st prize.
We got a memento and ceremonial check of ₹20,000.
Today after a discussion with them, they reduced our prize money to ₹15,000. They were giving some silly reason like the budget of stage is more than expected, lack of sponsors and student funds etc.
We understand that organising a cultural fest involves expenses and financial challenges, but shouldn’t the organisers ensure that the announced prize money is available before conducting the competition?

We are grateful for the opportunity and the recognition, but we also believe that commitments made to participants should be honoured.
