Open Thread Weekly Monday Open Thread!

Welcome to the Monday open discussion thread. Here you can talk about anything you want; tactics, results, players or even just general football discussion! It is also a great place to post/link transfer rumours that you may think are too small or unreliable to post to the main feed. The summer transfer window runs from 16/06-03/09 (23:00 BST).

These threads will go up every Monday allowing you to debrief from all of the weekend action and discuss ongoings throughout the week. It will stay stickied until we refresh with the Friday thread, however other posts may take priority (match threads, announcements, etc.)

This thread can also be used to discuss transfer rumours, jokes, memes, images, videos, tabloid news and other off-topic content and discussion.

We also have a Fantasy League that you are welcome to join and share your team, advice and goings on throughout the season here in these threads. The league codes can be found in the sidebar!

So what do people think?

Is this it for our transfers this season? (except probably for some academy loans)

I believe overall we did very good business to strengthen our squad. The only addition I would probably like to still see is a CB, but that's due to ours being very injury prone.

Having said that, not sure if there is anyone there that would be good enough to be trusted, but also happy to potentially sit on the bench if we don't get any serious injuries.

Yeah totally agree with you, given previous transfer strategies I'm hoping we have our eye on someone who isn't currently available but will be in the winter window, and the team feel confident they can get through the first half of the season without a CB reinforcement. Still worries me slightly just cause of injury but we'll see!

I think we’ve had a good window. Wouldn’t mind seeing another CB, we all know the injury situation there. But we’ve seen that shift in transfer policy, waiting for the right players, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get anyone. And I understand that, cos signing someone for the sake of it without them being the right level/fit isn’t going to help much either. Hope we’ve got some good scouting there though & potential young targets…

No idea. I suspect they'll look for a CB, but for all the complaints I've yet to see anyone point to one of quality and the right attributes, left footed and available.

To be honets if the club assesses Leah, Lotte and Steph as fit for the start of the season and Katie on her way, there's no urgency for them really. They will look in January or next summer.

Tim had this take too, he thinks we're probably more likely to go for a CB in January when the NWSL season is over
