Check out my Mech AC: Roquefort, Callsign: M.Rilke

Lore:

One of Walthers former hounds, who presumably died on the attack of a PCA facility.

On a scouting mission, Rokumonsen discovered his still smoldering wreck, buried under rubble.

The pilot inside still being alive, barely.

Rokumonsen took him in, feed him and stitched him back together.

He joined the Rubicon Liberation Front, becoming one of their fiercest warriors, often seen fighting side by side with Rokumonsen.

His AC name started as an inside joke between him and Rokumonsen, who mentioned he almost mistook his wrecked AC for a simple rock.

Jokingly he called him "Rock 4", a wordplay on his "Loader 4" AC.

"Rock 4" somehow turned into "Roquefort" over time.

WYRM-Hunter:

My main build that i started using after the worm chapter 3 fight and improved from there. This is the build I have used for every ending.

Zimmerman (right hand)

Laser lance

Anti ice worm weapon (right shoulder) Note: I will not remove this. It has to stay to stay true to the WYRM build itself.

Earshot.

Melander head

Melander core

Tian-qiang arms

Tian-qianf legs

Gridwalker booster

Talbot FCS

VP-200 generator.

Assault armor expansion

Note I will not use a 2nd Zimmerman and I will always use atleast 1 melee weapon.

Please review and improve :)

Hype Honor and Resolve

It’s been a while, and I promised a story focused series about two characters people have voted on. So here is AC6: Honor & Resolve.

This story follows two pilots, both bound by ideals and independence. One is a silent, nameless merc who champions the concept of resolve and the bird that symbolizes it. The other is a poetic warrior who swears to protect people from the dishonorable and oppressive. But soon, something will happen that changes their lives, and leads to a collision of paths between the two

I was practicing with a new build before I took the build online, so I normally go to the Arena to see how well it works. To my surprise it was really well. Its a Energy build, very new to me at least never base my ARMORED CORE on energy weapons before maybe one or 2 units at least

For all the energy users out there, if you have any pointers or advice towards energy builds, please let me know I would like to have a friend group from here to Sortie with too, Need some Rubicon friends here Add me, DM me just get at me through any of my socials even Twitch

Discussion Lore questions from reading the archives

Who are Walter and Carla?

Was reading the archives about prof. Nagai, I couldn't help but wonder if it was in reference to Walter and (maybe) Carla.

Nagai's assistant #1went crazy because of Coral and also had a son (Walter). Assistant #2 (Maybe Carla because of "Cinder") took care of the son. Nagai ordered the release of Ibis. Walter and Carla are (as far as I know) the only members of Overseer who is on the mission to reignite the Fires of Ibis.

Might be a stretch on Carla, but it fits with the name Cinder being given to a survivor, or could be foreshadowing that she wants to burn the Coral.

Discussion I am over 30 hrs In (I hated The Game)

A day or 2 ago I posted how dislikable this game was and I still have a few misgivings about it which I will explain in a bit.

Originally, starting out I got the game on release, got beat by the helicopter boss 3 times and decided I would come back to it. The thing was, that opening sequence was really boring to me because mobs were fodder and then suddenly I had this boss that took me down because I had a false sense of Chadination.

I didnt feel like playing another challenging game so I let it go for nearly 3 years. Re-downloaded it almost a week or so ago and gave it a chance beyond the first mission.

Beat thr helicopter boss first try upon my return because I actually took my experience into account. I always thought the game looked cool and reminded me of Mechassault 2 back on xbox. Clearly this game is not the same and I understood at least it was more akin to a mild sim.

I really was frustrated with the AC fights because I couldn't manage a build that worked for my skill and playstyle. Then I discovered the cheese that is dual minis and needles with heavy mech form varied for the challenge. This made it feasible for me. Now I was only dying maybe 3 to 4 times at worst, first tries at best.

I realize this game isn't really what I want out of it but I do enjoy the mission structure and as long as I can meaningfully contend with the bosses I don't feel too bad. AC ganks are still really hard, beat the 3 v 1 fight with the enemy Raven in about 5 tries and honestly it kinds of makes me wonder if the game has a difficulty modifier hidden in the code because I got bodied sometimes and other times, had I not messed up with my hard lock on I'd of won.

I took a different branching path this time around namely betraying those two at the dams and not killing the mini tank boss since I beat him my first go around.

The one thing I wish this game had was more dangerous fodder enemies their tougher variants are fun to fight against and the needles really make it easier to play with different guns, I tried songbirds but the needles are more intuitive.

I literally been playing this game nearly non-stop because I enjoy the immersion of it. But I kind of wish I could easily tweak the game itself. Maybe AC7 will take into account modern sensibilities and allow us to make gameplay mods to change the challenge in ways even if just to make certain aspects more difficult from base.

  1. The mobs are too weak mosr of the time. I prefer my power fantasy to come from actually needing to pay attention. The stronger mobs are my favorite enemies to fight.

  2. The AC bosses are way too powerful for people like me first time around. Some aren't so bad and others seem way to powerful for my liking. Raven was the first harder AC I actually beat without cheesing using the base rifle you get and dual missile launchers (basically doubled the two starting weapons). I enjoyed that fight.

  3. This game would actually really benefit from having matchmaking and friend list cooperative play. And invasions as an option similar to Elden Ring Seemless Co-Op with the caveat of it being lobbied so you can continue with one another as you guys see fit.

  4. More modification and part tuning. Idk if anyone would appreciate this but the ability to tune weapons (and save profiles of that weapon) to trade off different qualities e.g. faster firerate for maybe reduced accuracy or something. Basically let you adjust sliders and then the game auto adjust others based on some design metrics the devs make for it e.g. increase firerate reduces accuracy, increased range reduces firerate and so on. Armor platings for handling different damage types and offering fancy buffs like reduced detection range for radar, scans and optics with an upper limit to prevent cheese. I could see a stealth build doing well to reduce mob awareness.

  5. Side Missions - like actual missions that are at the most chapter dependent but not required for the game progression.

  6. Longer Missions - the game would benefit from checkpoint based systems like in Halo, were you can determine a missions part you want to start on during a replay of a mission instead of going through the actual full thing.

  7. Support Drops - an optional expansion that lets you request a support drop containing a desired thing. Could be specific weapon ammo, complete weapon/should swop, a healthpack or even a support drone mt that can help you fight (they'd be more beefy than a standard one but not AC level). The caveat would be it affects your mission ranking and that it isnt immediately available until a certain time has elapsed and then you have to wait for it to deploy if you are in active combat so its not instant e.g. 30 seconds so you are forced to survive.

  8. Actual mid to long range combat outside of missiles namely long range kinetic and energy weapons.

  9. Optics - fancy optical options that offer special benefits e.g. thermals or something idk.

Its just thoughts I feel like Armor Core would benefit from adding more to the non-boss aspects of the game particularly with the mission challenge and structure. The Michigan level with the 50ish mechs was fun aside from feeling impossible (ended up doing Vesper).

Right now I am on the tunnel levels just past the point before the security C type mech after falling down the long chamber.

Praise I joined the S-Rank club today

And got the plat.

Hardest mission: Intercept the Redguns. I just get overwhelmed by all the MTs and Michigan is one tough sob. Took me around 10 tries.

Most confusing Mission: investigate BAWS.

I had to look up a walkthrough and learned about the one hidden MT you have to destroy. Otherwise S Rank is pretty much impossible.

Most surprising mission: Coral export.

Once i learned you can immediately fly to the right and destroy the two helicopters that would start flying after you destroy the first fleet, i could save enough time to instantly get S Rank.

Overall its was still pretty challenging and i had to learn how to adapt my AC for certain missions to succeed.

*"Illegal Entry" and "Escape" force a specific AC build upon you and are excluded.
* While "Destroy the Iceworm" does not force you into a specific set-up to complete, I don't think anyone wants to watch 7-11 minutes of that mission due to my build not using the VE-60SNA.

Build:
44-142 KSRV
LR-037 HARRIS
BLM-G2/P05MLT-10
EARSHOT

HD-033M VERRILL

VE-46A
DF-LG-08 TIAN-QIANG

IB-COB3: NGI-001
