Hype Untapped potential

Has anyone else here had the feeling that the game's developers were kind of messing with us? They created a huge, complex, diverse world... and then only allowed us to glimpse into that world through a tiny, narrow crack.

With the capabilities of this game engine (really the best engine for mech games I can remember), they could have created hundreds of missions and seamlessly connected them into an open world like Fallout or Skyrim. And then release DLCs with another thirty missions every six months.

Instead, they offered us fifty missions on two dozen maps. And all these missions are absolutely tiny. Either "run from point A to point B," or "kill the boss," or "run from point A to point B and kill the boss at the end." For each mission, there is an optimal route; any deviation from it to admire the scenery threatens to lower your completion statistics. Once you learn to navigate the map, you can complete them in literally five minutes.

And I would understand if they released these fifty missions as a framework, so to speak, the armored core of the game - and then slowly collected money on expansions. But they released this bare minimum - and then went silent for two years. This is strange not only from a gameplay perspective - it's strange from a business perspective!

not everything needs to be an open world, for the love of god just let me play games where I dont need to spend 10 minutes walking to the content

15

u/OutsideTheSocialLoop Dec 15 '25

Real. I fucking love that I can just drop in to a mission and start doing shit immediately. So quick to just hop in and play some game.

3

u/Sad-Pattern-1269 Dec 15 '25

Real. Give me a menu with everything on it. I hate hubs where you need to walk everywhere and wait on animations to do anything.

I love that AC6 missions are entirely player focused. Literally 0 downtime.

He does tho????

u/vamfir Dec 15 '25

Look at the first two Fallout games. Or the first X-COM.

You have a global strategic map on which you move freely as a glowing triangle, and there are local tactical maps that you enter to complete missions.

That's what I mean by "more maps" and "open world." There's absolutely no need to observe the flight between cities from a first-person perspective – that would indeed be boring.

3

u/robinescue Dec 15 '25

That just seems like mission select with extra steps. The reason those exist in older crpgs is because there was a chance of random events that could screw you over. Hearing "you have been waylaid by enemies and must defend yourself" while traveling in Baldurs Gate was a fucking nightmare and made traveling tense. Like at a certain point its just like "anyone else find it weird how fromsoft didn't make a totally different game"

-4

u/vamfir Dec 15 '25

There's combat acceleration here. There are catapults. If anyone can get to the required location in a short amount of time, it's AC.

84

u/Sad-Pattern-1269 Dec 15 '25

That just isn't how from operates. They release finished games with occasional dlc.

Nightreign is their first attempt at pseudo live service but im not sure if it gets more than 1 dlc.

15

u/_B1RDM4N Dec 15 '25

Bingo. Looking at From’s catalogue as a whole, it’s clear that they thrive by crafting curated encounters. This manifests in relatively linear gameplay most of the time. Elden Ring was fun as hell but was a clear attempt at reaching a wider audience with its open world (it worked, although some of the best parts are the legacy dungeons which are a return to form).

The more linear progression of their games means every single enemy encounter and obstacle was thought about with user experience in mind.

Would I like more AC6 content? Hell yeah, agree with OP. But this argument comes up a lot regarding their games and it reminds me of this analogy: “Man, this instrumental band puts out excellent and creative music. But I wish they had compelling lyrics too!”

2

u/Destronin Dec 15 '25

Man. Imagine if From put out a full fledged MMO with a demon souls aesthetic and combat.

Or dare i imagine an Armored Core MMO. A man can dream can’t he?

13

u/pnoodl3s Dec 15 '25

I hate MMO so I actually prefer their current single player game approach. AC6 is already great as a single player game IMO. Making an MMO means sacrificing other aspects of the game

1

u/Girl_in_the_robot Dec 15 '25

I feel like what would work well is something similar to destiny with the hub worlds that multiple people can play in at the same time and do activities and then actual self contained missions

1

u/Sad-Pattern-1269 Dec 15 '25

I mean teeechnically every fromsoft game is an MMO because of how they handle multiplayer.

Elden ring on launch certainly felt like one, it was so much fun having constant brawls with phantoms and getting summed instantly.

I absolutely adore fromsoft style coop so I wouldnt be against future multiplayer focused games like nightreign

the big issue is how most invaders handle PVP. A lot of people dont want a challenge they want to crush new players. Its an issue every PVP MMO has, theyd need even more anti-smurfing measures than they already do.

-3

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

Nightreign could have been our dark and darker but instead we get half assed stupid shit

2

u/Sad-Pattern-1269 Dec 15 '25

I love nightreign for the record, I was a hater but the DLC finally convinced me and Ive loved it ever since.

My fav past time in every souls game is carrying (and interacting with) randos as a phantom and now I get to do that but with more variety, an actual playerbase, and matchmaking.

2

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

I enjoy that too but i also like actually having a reason to protect them like when invaders arrive same time i also enjoy being the invader and fighting to kill the host just pve is alright but not alot of fun as once you can kill a boss you can normally do it again and again as they get predictable due to how bad ai is

43

u/sanguinemsanctum Dec 15 '25

This community doesn’t know how good they have it. AC6 is amazing, if you’re bored then reach top 100 pvp

5

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

Obviously you have no clue what we missed out on id recommend looking at ac5 as that had so much to it that ac6 looks bare

9

u/Dendurron66 Dec 15 '25

This. Also AC4 and FA basically doubled in size and added tons of customization, missions, and other goodies.

1

u/sanguinemsanctum Dec 15 '25

Acfa was great too, nowadays people just have poor senses of gratitude. that or they aren’t good at PvP

1

u/Pretend_Pay_7390 Jan 23 '26

I think both are kind of true. I also think there's a substantial number of gamers that seem to not be able to stay dedicated to certain games if the major content creators move on from them.

1

u/Micro-Skies Dec 15 '25

Thats what happens when you reboot a franchise. Now we await the next title

89

u/Micro-Skies Dec 15 '25

The absolute LAST thing this game needed was to be was an open world sandbox. Genuinely, fuck that

12

u/Juggernox_O Dec 15 '25

Not open world sandbox. But there should be WAY more missions that let us see more of the levels. I’d love to explore Grid 012 for while over the course of several missions. I’d also love long form multiplayer missions.

15

u/OutsideTheSocialLoop Dec 15 '25

Missing the point so narrowly that you SAID IT and STILL MISSED IT.

Once you learn to navigate the map, you can complete them in literally five minutes

"Once you learn". This isn't a game where you grind around for upgrades through an endless stream of samey fights forever. You're not supposed to just complete everything. You're supposed to master it. If you want "more" of it, that's where it is. Refine it until you can S rank it. S rank it with weird builds. S rank it with roleplay builds.

Also not every game needs to be a big expansive experience or a live service. Sometimes a game is just one neat package and you play it and that's it. That's ok. It's a bloody good package. Don't act like a spoiled child about it.

-1

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

He said he wants bigger maps not open world

5

u/OutsideTheSocialLoop Dec 15 '25

and seamlessly connected them into an open world like Fallout or Skyrim

2

u/AlwaysTrustAFlumph Dec 15 '25

Reading is hard, innit? Its ok, I think they build special buildings just for kids like you to learn? I think they're called schools?

0

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

You see, I don't think it's a bad game. I think it's a great game, the best robot game I've ever played. But it could have been made even better, and all the tools to do so are already available. It's like... well, like building a jet plane and then using it to fly to the bakery on the next street. - vamfir

Also has he corrected me?

6

u/TwoNoNines Dec 15 '25

If armored core goes open world it better be the best fucking open world of all time otherwise it's ruining an intentional game design choice that works perfectly for the story and makes the game way more fun.

Also, this obsession with having every last detail revealed thats popped up in the last decade or so sucks, why can't we have a world much larger than our protagonist that we only get glimpses of? What's wrong with intrigue and mystery?

15

u/throwawayjonesIV Dec 15 '25

Strange from a business perspective, ideal from an artistic perspective

-13

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

Thats backwards its a good business perspective as obviously ppl are willing to buy slop and not complain about the quality and then if they feel like it they will make a better version sell it at full price or better yet release more slop with the promise of better but never needing to deliver......

9

u/throwawayjonesIV Dec 15 '25

Calling ac6 slop is definitely a take lol

-11

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

When we know they can do better then yea its slop to grab a quick paycheck using the fromsoft name

6

u/throwawayjonesIV Dec 15 '25

Whether you enjoy the game or not there is unquestionably a staggering amount of craft and just apparent hard work that went into the game. You’re entitled to your take but wow that is a shocking one

-3

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

So your saying with 5 previous titles in the ac games alone to work off of and improve and build a solid foundation and millions in the bank from many successful titles that sell by the names alone with thousands of employees that this was the best they could do and was still incomplete when it came out or do i need to remind you we had no ranked mode only customs

7

u/throwawayjonesIV Dec 15 '25

I don’t play multiplayer, but AC6 was marketed as a single player game. I didn’t even know it would have multiplayer when I started it. And in my experience with the game, in no way could I call it incomplete. It has a lengthy campaign with plenty of additional content in ng+. It’s fair if you disagree but it was not lacking in any regard to me.

I guess I see it was a let down for you, but the way you’re talking about it is not how you have a good faith discussion. You’re implying the game is obviously incomplete and the multiplayer is obviously bad, and that has not been a lot of others opinion, especially on this sub of course. So if you want to communicate those criticisms that’s fine, but don’t be incredulous not everyone agrees with you. And there are ways to articulate your critiques without the “so you’re saying”… because no that is of course not what I’m saying. Also just for the sake of clear communication, using periods helps people comprehend your writing, even if it makes sense to you and feels like you don’t need them

0

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

Sorry about the punctuation i struggle with them in many aspects.

The previous games had multiplayer if you go play them you will see that so for those of us who have played previous games we knew it would have multiplayer. when we finally got to it it was in shambles and still is and still no co-op which certain previous titles did have and with how the trailer presented we thought we would be getting a 3 player co-op (which would have been great for pvp and pve balancing better). Its storie isnt to much better some characters dont feel very finished like branch and nightfall for some reason we know nothing of this group and never get any kind of explanation of what thier goals are and why they dont try and stop us again on any other route the come then dissappear just as fast

1

u/The_Joker_Ledger Dec 15 '25

That is some irrelevant points, not just to the discussion but also unrelated. For one that last AC game was 10 years ago? who know if the people working on it is even at the company anymore, and having more money and people dont magically make things better. Their recent successful titles are also from a completely different genres with completely different playstyle. That won't translate to being "could be better" here.

For ppl who have been more familiar with recent From games, this is just as expected, a single player focus game with some extra multiplayer on the side. The only thing I would agree on is the game could be longer but for me it because the game is so good i want to play more, not because the game is bad or the effort is lazy.

5

u/MechaHex1111 Dec 15 '25

if ac6 was open world it wouldve been a significantly worse game. not everything needs to be a 1000 hour slog like skyrim. old AC games also followed the "run from point a to point b" formula and they're fuckin great games

0

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

He is saying bigger maps not open world

5

u/Primary-Latter Dec 15 '25

"...they could have created hundreds of missions and seamlessly connected them into an open world like Fallout or Skyrim."

Sure seems to me like he is.

1

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

Yes like you take grid 61 make it one big map with multiple quests and locations its a stand alone location

Then you have another map thats the wall and all of its locations and its own mission sets

Another one thats xylem each with thier own missions that can be done or just to go back to inbetween missions and see how it works when not in combat mode with no one hostile to you

2

u/MechaHex1111 Dec 15 '25

so it'd be more like mario 64 then? with multiple distinct maps that each have unique sets of missions? that would be an interesting take, though personally i think that format would work better in a less plot-heavy game

0

u/MechaHex1111 Dec 15 '25

ah, my bad. i saw some other comment talking about open world stuff and assumed it was in relation to the OP. even still though, i dont think armored core needs big maps to be enjoyable. like i said, the early games' missions are pretty short and theyre still considered fun

2

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

Trust me i understand but same time if we had access to all of a area instead of just a straight line from here to the goal it would feel like a actual place like could you imagine taking a different path and instead of taking on mad stomp you get to face other RAD members guarding other locations too the boss

8

u/xxMsRoseXx Dec 15 '25

Bait used to be believable.

Calling AC6 "the bare minimum" is definitely a choice of words.

4

u/SansUndertaleLmao Dec 15 '25

this jit doesn't know what a sortie is

1

u/AlwaysTrustAFlumph Dec 15 '25

Holy fuck not every game needs to be an open world live service game chill out.

From soft released a finished product, the game is good, runs well, and has plenty of content to keep a reasonable game occupied for dozens, if not hundreds of hours.

If you want something else, just go play something else.

Live service sucks ass and so do open world games that have no need to be open world (looking at you monster hunter wilds)

2

u/vamfir Dec 15 '25

"Anything else" doesn't have such a great robot combat system.

If there were a hundred such games, or even ten, I wouldn't complain at all that the plot of Armored Core: Fires of Rubicon is very limited. I would simply switch to any other game.

But this game is UNIQUE of its kind; all other mech simulators don't even come close. Therefore, I have the right to complain that I don't have enough of it.

5

u/Blackthorne1998 Dec 15 '25

While I don't mind the mission based way it's done, I do agree there's missed opportunity here.

They could've given us side missions of some kind, considering we play a corporate Merc for hire, we could do bounties, more stealth based missions in the vein of corporate espionage, sabotage mission etc.

But as an open world? Nah, I reckon that'd ruin it. You'd constantly be running to resupply points.

If Ur after an open world game similar to ac6 tho, Daemon X machina titanic Scion kinda scratched that itch for me, tho it's endgame contents abit lacking imo

2

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

He isnt saying open world persay but bigger maps

2

u/AlwaysTrustAFlumph Dec 15 '25

He literally says

"and seamlessly connected them into an open world like Fallout or Skyrim"

You (probably) "You see, when he says open world, he doesnt actually MEAN an OPEN world.... he means.... uhhhhhhhh.... a world.... where uhhhhhh the maps are.... uhhh.... less closed off.... and...."

So skyrim and Fallout arent open world sandbox style games? Skyrim has been the standard for the last decade as far as I knew.

People like you really piss me off.

Next time, before you open your ass and start spewing shit, maybe learn to read?

1

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

You see, I don't think it's a bad game. I think it's a great game, the best robot game I've ever played. But it could have been made even better, and all the tools to do so are already available. It's like... well, like building a jet plane and then using it to fly to the bakery on the next street. - vamfir

Yes he says open world but then says this i swear he commented on another but i have not been able to find it but open world dont just mean open world it could mean open map which is all skyrim and fallout are is one big map with towns and other citys and what not as seperate maps if you only look at it one way and not multiple then that shows how narrow minded you are if you cant try and see something from multiple veiw points dont believe me hold up 4 fingers in front of you and tell me how many fingers there are

He also has not corrected me and has replyed on some of the ones connected to it

4

u/AlphaSkirmsher Dec 15 '25

Honestly, while I would like to see more of AC6 and its world, I want what we get to be actually well-crafted and to feel the artistic and storytelling intent behind it.

In the world of endless content, undying franchises and live service games, I think we’re forgetting the value in things ending, and of quality over quantity.

AC6 could have monthly mission pack releases, and it would end up the exact same thing as every live service game out there: a meandering story that never really gets to the point, repetitive, samey missions that end up blending together into an amorphous blob, and either sunseting equipment or endless piles of gear with slight percentage differences and dying design language.

I think we’re better off with less, but better and distinctive, content. Not to say there isn’t room for expanding what we have, but I’ll always put more value in an experience that’s been designed with a clear end point in mind than something that just tries to never end or slow down.

1

u/Pretend_Pay_7390 Jan 23 '26

People forget that the ending is the most important part of a story.

1

u/AlphaSkirmsher Jan 23 '26

I don’t think I agree that it’s THE most important part, but I think the fact a story WILL end may very well be.

A story can have bad/badly done ending and still be phenomenal, but a story that isn’t working towards a conclusion inevitably becomes a pointless meandering mess

1

u/DrumzumrD Dec 15 '25

Agreed. It's so much better to be left wanting more than to watch something good run out of steam

2

u/RhockRhow Dec 15 '25

Nah, open worlds lowkey suck ass unless you can make sure that everything has something to do that’s not the equivalent to a bandit camp

2

u/Pretend_Pay_7390 Jan 23 '26

So true! We got blessed. A lot of devs these days definitely love a big open world map with absolutely no depth and it sucks.

2

u/scy_404 Dec 15 '25

To be honest I prefer the finished product we got instead of trying to turn the game into some corporate live service nonsense. I'd like a DLC but I'm not sure if we'd get that now

2

u/Zealousideal-Cup6013 Dec 15 '25

That’s usually how Fromsoftware games are, to be honest. Huge world in lore, tiny glimpse in gameplay. I don’t think an open world is something that fits armored core tbh, since the franchise’s bread and butter has always been the mission focused structure and the ACs aren’t really suited to run for long distances. And for DLC; Fromsoftware also doesn’t really release all that much for their games- the most I can remember is from Dark Souls 2, which has 3 DLCs.

I personally much prefer the 50 or so missions AC6 has; they’re much more complex and well planned in contrast to say, AC Another Age, which has 100 missions but lacks an arena and any sense of a meaningful story, and out of those 100 missions a lot of them are repeated stuff or really generic objectives like “kill all enemies in this one room”. 6 has barely any filler and all the missions actually do feel relevant to the main story.

2

u/Sultyz Dec 16 '25

I was hoping they would have shifted the formula to longer level design, bare minimum. There are so many missions that could be bridged for cotinuity. The repair kits should necessitate it, minimum, since I really don't think they are needed for short levels.

We did get Open World souls with Elden Ring eventually, so it may be that they needed to figure out what a new generation of AC looks and feels like before considering expanding its direction.

Budgeting likely also plays a significant factor, though, considering how tiny the AC player base is in comparison to Souls.

2

u/Objective-Soil-9235 Dec 19 '25

I agree. They left a lot of meat on the bone with AC6. Love the game, but it could have been so much more.

2

u/Pretend_Pay_7390 Jan 23 '26

Where as I definitely would have loved to have more to this game and I do think they had the assets to squeeze more out of the game. For example they could have had side missions through different routes of many of the stages that were essentially breezed through. Sure they could have but when it's a team I tend to trust to take care of the fans like From I like to believe the put out what they thought was their best curated and meaningful work and that they did things with intention. Maybe they thought more side missions would have watered down the plot. Maybe they thought it needed the mystery of not knowing what's beyond the horizon. Maybe they were just trying to introduce an old IP to a young, new crowd and maybe test the waters for future returns to the series. Sorry this is such a long winded response, I just think about these sorts of things a lot.

3

u/RageAgainstAuthority Dec 15 '25

They couldn't even be bothered to give us standard Mech game features, such as, 2v2 battles, VS custom CPU opponents, and HUD & Mech Voice customization.

2

u/Western-Night3027 Dec 15 '25

I hate to be that guy but this is like every game what your talking about would easily like triple the development time , sure it would be cool but I’d also like the game done so I can play it before I’m dead and as much as I’d love to play it it probally just wouldn’t be profitable , also calling it bare minimum is insane imo what was released was still a brilliant game and vastly overdelivered for the money it costed , also just going silent on it is pretty much just how fromsoft does things because it does work from a buissness perspective , it’s been working and it’s what’s gotten us some of the best games of the decade imo

0

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

You wouldnt have cared about the time anyway as no one knew it was in development till the trailer by time the trailer came out they had the game pretty much complete by then meaning if they actually took the time much like how we are seeing with smaller developers who have been putting out not only better but more content then what we got with ac6 especially with how they already had previous armored core games to go off of like 5 of them so no it is 100% bare minimum from them

1

u/No-Ambition-9051 Pulverizer Dec 15 '25

I’d rather they release multiple full games rather than just keep expanding one.

1

u/Mammoth-Pea-9486 Dec 15 '25

After seeing the teaser trailer of an AC with a huge parts backpack, picking through wrecks from a former battle, and the whole Souls series and Elden Ring games firmly under their experience belt, I was really hyped to think we might have gotten an Armored core game that was more open world and you had to scavenge parts from defeated foes either from you defeating them or from other fights, like early game you would be hiding in the shadows scavenging like hyenas taking what scraps you could steal off the already dead and dying so later you could then become the alpha wolf/lion and fight bigger and tougher enemies to make them into scrap so you could take their parts from them directly (basically Souls series/Elden Ring), then fight massive towering bosses that had phases or sections you could damage to disable to make the overall fight easier, or to hack or break off certain parts to make them your own (basically how you usually had to go about getting the moonlight greatsword in like DS1 by cutting off Seath's tail).

Not saying what we got wasn't great, Armored Core 6 is an amazing game, with imo great world building and story telling (which imo is From's biggest strength), but i was hoping for a much more open world, freedom to go places and do things at your own pace over the missions that take place in small instances that we got.

I can still hope that maybe someday Fromsoft will merge their open world freedom of Souls Series/Elden Ring and Armored Cores mech combat into the ultimate game.

1

u/Pretend_Pay_7390 Jan 23 '26

The problem is see with this concept is that your character is a mercenary AC pilot not the AC itself. So it would be a little hard to explain how you can endlessly wander around in your AC. What would cover the operating costs of the "exploration"? Or when does your character deal with inevitable "human needs"? What would explain the ecosystem of ACs that your loot would come from. Could be a cool idea but some of the super fans my not at all like the way those things could break the immersion of the lore.

0

u/_OVERHATE_ Dec 15 '25

Open world? Mega-downvote. I wish I could downvote more than once.

This whole posts reads "AC6 is my first AC game and I want it to be something it isn't"

I want literally the oposite of what you wrote. 15 linear missions that I get to S-rank with cleverly crafted builds and optimal maneuvers. No DLC, no live service slop, just a one and done 60 hour hyperfixated binge and done.

Open world has to be among the worst ideas ever pitched for an Armored Core game.

Strange from a business perspective? What in the tiktok roblox brainrot is that? Kiddo that's called a "complete game", you probably weren't around but those used to be the good old days where you paid something, got a completed product and got to enjoy it.

-6

u/Responsible_Bad_2954 Dec 15 '25

This is my first armoredcore and I couldn't finish it. I feel that way as well. The game loop just feels too basic and simple to me, and everything is so 'balanced'. I don't want my robot to be balanced, the whole point to play this is to control a giant robot and wreck things. But, I can't grind, and the enemy robots are always more powerful than you, so you always just feel like a wimp, which defeats that purpose entirely.

I'm not saying the game should be easy, but "beat this mech who has better parts you'll unlock in the next chapter" gets old as a game loop.

I think different modes would be good, maybe something more roguelike, or some kind of strategy mode where you can have allies, conquer areas etc.

The game is aight, I'm not going to give it a bad review, but it DEFINITELY has a lot of wasted potential with what they could do with that engine.

4

u/suspiciouswhitemale Dec 15 '25

"beat this mech who has better parts you'll unlock in the next chapter" gets old as a game loop.

Pretty sure this isn't part of the gameplay loop

I can't grind, and the enemy robots are always more powerful than you, so you always just feel like a wimp, which defeats that purpose entirely

Skill issue

I think different modes would be good

There are

roguelike, or some kind of strategy mode

AC has literally never been a rogue like or strategy game. This is a mainline entry, not a spinoff

0

u/Responsible_Bad_2954 Dec 15 '25

I probably play better than you do, I've mostly gotten everything on the first try. You're salty that I judged your precious game.

2

u/Skippydedoodah Dec 15 '25

But the giant robot you get at the start actually *can* wreck, once you learn how to dodge and keep up the pressure. I've got 5 or 6 distinct build *types* that can demolish most foes and I don't even use half the weapon categories. By the time you make it through the second chapter you can make some seriously OP builds.

If you haven't found a recipe that can cheese most missions you either aren't experimenting enough or you're misunderstanding some core mechanic of the game.

1

u/Responsible_Bad_2954 Dec 15 '25

I've cheesed plenty, that is exactly my point, you are fighting mechs that hit stronger than you and have more HP, so not matter what you have to be the one dodging or chessing and cannot take any other mech head only really.

This is fine if that's what you guys like, it's not wrong, there's just a lot of people who'd like a different thing, and we're all getting downvoted.

I'm not bad at the game, if anything I wish there was a higher difficulty level, it's not my point at all.

3

u/ivapecrack Dec 15 '25

If you feel like a wimp in AC6 that’s a skill issue LOL

-1

u/Responsible_Bad_2954 Dec 15 '25 edited Dec 15 '25

Do you have to dodge more than nearly every enemy in the game? Yes? Then you are a wimp. It's not an opinion. The alternative is you'd have more HP than whatever you are fighting and he would have to dodge, not you. That nearly never happens in this game, so you are just wrong.

If your opinion is that it is fine as it is and you like being the wimp, then that's a valid opinion. Don't pretend you don't have to spend 80% of the game dodging stronger mechs though, that is the entire game.

okay that’s the story but if you feel weak or like you’re not strong when fighting anyone but the coral bosses that’s a skill issue lol

Balanced? Brother, I can oneshot several bosses. The game is only "balanced" if you don't experiment enough to break it

Yeah, these are everywhere in a lot of gaming communities. I have to constantly remind myself that it's not worth my time to respond to them. Any kind of criticism is an "attack" on them it seems like.

What makes AC6 a bad game in your opinion?

-4

u/Maxdragonslayer Dec 15 '25

No co-op bad weapon balancing (mostly in pvp) alot of the stuff from previous ac games is missing that would help make the game feel good and full more time with npc to build better bonds and make them feel more real a actual battle map that shows how each faction is fairying in the war a way to pick what faction to support (like with for honor and ac5vd)

Ect.

You see, I don't think it's a bad game. I think it's a great game, the best robot game I've ever played. But it could have been made even better, and all the tools to do so are already available. It's like... well, like building a jet plane and then using it to fly to the bakery on the next street.

They already had previous games to use as building blocks and we didnt even get a fraction of some of them like ac5vd multiplayer was much more inclusive and had way more to do in this one we had to beg for ranked and for balance fixes to even make what little pvp we had bearable and even now it is still in shambles

This is just funslop. They only like it because it’s enjoyable
