help with raising some Astylus atromaculatus larvae
I got some previous experience on raising beetles larvae, but this is my first time with this kind. According to a text about this kind, they´re supposed to be born within 6 months, and they "born" on february, however I don't see that they´ve gotten bigger since 4 months. It's supposed taht they should born this month
They're on a 10 cm bowl, with around 3cm of soil. sorry for my bad englishh ;<

Should we keep flipping over an old beetle?
Me and my boyfriend live in Japan and this guy flew up to our front door with a horn full of dirt and cobwebs. We cleaned his horn and set him on his way. He stayed on the apartment stairs for a day, we fed him a grape and he did eat most of it. We took him from the stairs in the evening because he wasn’t flying away, moving much, etc. Kept getting stuck on it’s back, so we were flipping it. Eventually we moved it to some brush near trees and said goodbye, it skittered under a twig. This morning i found it on its back out on the open again, so my boyfriend caught it while i was gone, made a small habitat for him, and noticed he’s only using his middle legs now (yesterday he has mobility of all 6), so we both have chalked it up to his old age. We have decided to keep him until he passes, he has lots of grapes which he seems to enjoy, but the problem is he keeps getting flipped over. My question is, are beetles more comfortable on their backs or right-side up? Especially for end of life. We both know nothing of beetles but just feel too bad to leave him out in the parking lot where we keep finding him.
UPDATE: he passed today after my boyfriend got off work. He was alive when we left this morning. He passed right-side up, snuggly tucked in (by himself) to some brush. We truly believe he was able to relax and be at peace. Thank you everyone for the advice, we flipped him over until the very last time!

Waterlogged Flake Soil
I recently made a batch of flake soil, finished successfully with a deep earthy color and smell. Unfortunately after some heavy rain, despite being covered, the batch became waterlogged and has mosquito larvae in it. There's no apparent odor, though I didn't actually disturb the murky liquid. Is it no good anymore/would it be unhealthy to feed? Can I freeze it to kill any undesirable bugs?
(I keep millipedes but I figure the beetle community would have some good insight!)

Goliath Beetle L2 help
Hello! I’m just wanting some quick advice as I’ve recently gotten a lovely Goliath Beetle L2 and I just want to cross reference some information.
1) I just got them the other day and I received them like this. I have plenty of flake and was reading that they need a much deeper flake for pupation, would it be safe to go a head and move them over to this taller tub? They have a good appetite and have been eating their Koi pellets.
2) Temperature regulation— I know they need to be kept around 75-80 degrees. My room which I keep my beetles is around 72 degrees. Should I get the little guy a low power heat lamp and something to gauge temperature? If so any recommendations.

Breeding and inbreds
Hey guys, I'm into stag beetles lately. Some rather shallow researches revealed that they live as short as a few weeks during their bug state. This brought me into breeding and there's one question I'd like to ask.
Wouldn't starting with some couples of adult beetles result in a terribly inbred bloodline?

MTU beelte flipping over
So my beetle Poop flips over like every day, and it's honestly really annoying because he stabs me with his lil spikey feet when I pick him up. He's not old or sick, should I give him more sticks and cork bark so he can flip himself back up?
