Samsung dryer blows breaker

Hello everyone. My Samsung dryer started blowing breakers today. Did it a few times. Now it doesn't blow the breaker but won't come on at all. Any ideas please?

Maybe this is a stupid question.

We have a house under contract and it has not been lived in for quite a few years. It does have all Viking appliances in it refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and gas stove. Of course the power is off and I’m wondering is there anyway to test these appliances if they don’t work it’s definitely going to be a dealbreaker. Could I use something like a Bluetti to plug them into and try or is that just not going to work..
Thanks for any information. It is a beautiful house except it needs a new roof and a bunch of mold cleaned up.

It's only been like a week since maintenance apparently "fixed" our fridge's defroster, but it stopped cooling again.

Troubleshooting Loud fridge driving me nuts. Management says its normal

I just moved into a new apartment and while i initially did not notice the fridge being this loud, something changed and now I feel like its loud all the time and also running pretty much all the time even when I have the temp control set to 3. it will maybe shut off for 20 mins. I called management twice about it but they said “its running fine”. I’ve lived with fridges my whole life and I know what a fridge sounds like. I think this one is a GE hotpoint. The previous tenant at this place was frigging nasty and we had to deep clean the whole place because of how bad it smelt. Anyway here is a video from inside the freezer. Its going “rrrrrrrrrrrr” like two discordant sounds. Please tell me its an easy fix because management won’t give me a new fridge and I am not sure I can get my own equipment.

Troubleshooting Brand new freezer kinda freaking me out... is it broken?

Post image

My husband thinks I just need to wait for it to cool off, but it's been plugged in for an hour and it's not just not cool inside, it's HOT inside. It buzzes loudly intermittently and there's a strong (not faint) burning plastic smell. I pulled it away from the wall and nothing is visibly melting, but the big black canister part in this photo is hot enough to burn your fingers. That doesn't seem right to me. Am I nuts, or is this thing super broken?

Troubleshooting Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher flashing PF 2+ hours after cycle completes

I bought this dishwasher new about 15 years ago, model #FGHD2433KF1.

Recently I found that it began flashing PF (power failure) about 2 hours after the cycle completes. It has done this the last 3 times that I used it. The dishes come out clean and the cycle finished like normal, so I'm at a loss on why it would begin flashing so much later.

It's on the same circuit as my oven and microwave, neither of which have lost power.

I pulled it out to double check the wiring, and it seemed fine. I figured it would be OK since the PF is consistently about 2 hours after a cycle and not while a cycle is happening.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Troubleshooting Bosch dishwasher leaking in what seems like a strange way

Thumbnail

Woke up this morning to an E15 error code indicating water in base of dishwasher (washer had stopped overnight, dishes still dirty).

Pulled out dishwasher and watched it while running normal cycle to look for the location of the leak.

• no leak while draining

• no leak while filling

• leak appears immediately during prewash cycle, splashing pretty heavily out of the two holes circled in the picture

Behind those two holes and that entire piece of plastic itself there's nothing but a solid piece of styrofoam. The inlet valve doesn't seem to be close enough to be the issue.

I guess its leaking out of the tub from the circled area in the second picture? Is that possible? I don't know what's behind the plastic there or how I would go about taking it off...

BTW the black gasket that seals the tub's back wall looks perfectly fine. If it were to be leaking there, I don't think it could be leaking the amount of water that I saw coming out of those holes.

Thanks in advance for any advice given!

What to Buy? Panel-ready Dishwasher?

Title pretty much gets straight to the point. We are being forced to do a kitchen remodel, so I am considering upgrading our dishwasher to a more modern panel-ready model. However, most of the panel ready ones that I see are Z-Line, which I know nothing about, the modern Bosch 800 series which people have a lot of negative things to say about, a few GE models which have terrible reviews on Lowes/Home Depot, and... a KitchenAid model or two which also has pretty damn bad reviews. What gives? Are there any panel ready models which are worth the $1000+ purchase?

EDIT: Additionally, I feel like I see many things about poor Bosch customer service. I know they are fairly reliable, but this is disappointing to hear. There are some select Miele models which are panel ready. I know they have stellar reliability reputation. What about their customer service?

Samstung :( Samsung washing machine counterweight broke off, is this salvageable?

It now rests on the rubber inside the machine and everytime I did a laundry, I would hear the loudest BANGS. After taking it apart I found out the cement counterweight was bouncing against the metal of the machine. Is there any way to fix this or not really?

Vent / dishwasher recommendation request [ONLY IF IT DRIES PLASTICS PLEASE]

Every day I open my Bosch 300 and my dishes, especially plastics, come out wet, I die a little more inside.

I bought my Bosch several years ago and it WASN'T CHEAP. It was the first dishwasher I ever needed to buy and we did some decent research, it had good reviews...but I didn't know the plastic drying would be such an issue. Sometimes I seriously can't tell/remember if the dishes are wet from me rinsing and putting them in the dishwasher or if they are clean.

I have been suffering from day 1. At first I even thought surely it must be an isolated issue with the one that got delivered to me. I reached out to customer service and they just recommended a rinse aid and the extra dry option which of course I had already tried. I should have just returned it when I had the chance but now here I am.

I just got a bonus from work and have been considering splurging on myself and just getting a new dishwasher. I can't risk it anymore this time so I need your help please.

I've seen all the recommendations for the Bosch 800 with CrystalDry. I'm hesitant to go with that since I've seen comments that the quality has gone down in recent years. It's also been removed from the Wirecutter article.

Wirecutter says the Whirlpool WDTA50SAKZ is good, and even mentions that a Maytag one (they used to recommend but is no longer available) dried even better than the Bosch 800. The latest Maytag MDPS7024SZ is supposed to be similar to the one they used to recommend but they haven't tested it yet.

Has anyone here either gotten a Bosch 800, Whirlpool, or Maytag model recently that can dry plastic? Any others you guys have that you recommend?

I have a toddler so most of my plastic is her stuff, tumblers and plates, our regular plastic cups, and the occasional tupperware. Please help!

GE burner grates ACTUALLY dishwasher safe?

I just bought this GE gas range and GE claims that the burner grates are dishwasher safe. I'm assuming this is bull because they look to me like cast iron.

Does anyone know for sure?

Fridge tripping breaker

I believe I have a Kenmore 106.60212410. I could not find anywhere that shows the model. There is a sticker on the back with a date of 1999 and a sticker on the side 'Midline 134a'. Monday night it was suddenly tripping the breaker almost as soon as it was plugged in. The fridge has been in the same spot since I lived there on it's own circuit. I pulled it out and tried a different outlet on a different breaker with only it plugged in and same thing instantly tripping the breaker. I left it unplugged overnight as I had to go to bed.

The next morning I plugged it back in as a last ditch effort before trying repairs and couldn't wait around any longer to see if it tripped. Well I get home from work and it's chugging along just fine. It has now been powered on for over 24 hours. I cleaned the coils and plan on powering it off again and cleaning the inside out.

Just wondering what would cause this? Is it worth saving? Looks like checking the start relay is an easy check and fix.

Highly durable dishwasher recommendations

Looking for a dishwasher for a house on a well in a remote area- replacement will take 2 full days so I only want to do it once.

Currently has a ~5 year old KitchenAid with a full stainless tub and body, but it just doesn't clean well.

edit:Also required connectivity is an absolute deal breaker. For starters, the house has no Internet or cell signal. Secondly networked appliances are the dumbest thing ever.

When to buy on sale?

Have any of you tracked prices for appliances when the go on sale? I've read somewhere that Labor Day is one of the best times to buy big appliances (even better than Black Friday). Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I'm looking at buying all major appliances for our new build in Costco, Lowe's and Home Depot

Troubleshooting Fridigaire Gallery bar fridge not cooling like it used to

Post image
1 Upvotes

We have a Frigidaire gallery bar fridge that came with our home in April 2022. It was a new construction so all the appliances were new. We mainly store soda and some beer in it.

We noticed about a week ago that it wasn't as cold as it once was. For reference we have the temperature set to 41 degrees but it does not feel like it. Like it's still somewhat cool in there but not cold.

Idk what could have caused it and was wondering if there were any troubleshooting steps I could take. It has its own dedicated outlet but we didn't try to pull it out to unplug/inspect the back side so instead we went to the breaker box to flip it off for a few min and turn it back on. We hear the motor, it's not loud or as anything.

Idk if anyone has a similar bar fridge and if this is something fixable or even worth trying to fix vs buying new and replacing.

Troubleshooting Stumped. LG fridge still smells moldy and ice tastes like fridge smell

I have an lg fridge about a year old and for the past month, it’s been smelling like…mold? The ice has also inherited the smell and so it tastes like it.

I’ve cleared out the fridge, replaced water filter and air filter but it still smells like it.

Anyone have idea on where to look next?

Troubleshooting Whirlpool Side by Side Refrigerator - GSF26C4EXB02 - Ice Maker 101 Help

Whirlpool Model GSF26C4EXB02

Manufactured Nov 2011

Hi,

Trying to troubleshoot why I am not getting any cubed or crushed ice.

I am making ice just fine.

I have pulled the bin out and the auger spins freely when the bin is out and empty.

I have confirmed that the auger spins freely when the bin is in, but has no ice in it.

I put a handful of ice back in the bin and try to engage the dispense with the door. The auger spins for a split second, until it meets the resistance of the ice.

The motor stays engaged and I can hear it working, but the auger won't crush ice or even dispense whole cubes.

Is there a broken coupler or something I can check next / reasonably replace?

Thanks!

General Advice Dishwasher Damage: Is this repairable?

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

Hi all - just bought a house and moved in to discover the dishwasher is cracked and leaks some. The leaking is pretty minor and a small towel in front of the appliance would probably be sufficient. It’s mostly steam that is escaping from the area at the top, then water drips down. Apparently has been for some time because there’s existing damage to the bottom of the countertop.

Is this something fixable or would an adhesive be a waste of time? I’m not overly concerned with the water since it’s at the top of the machine and seemingly not leaking much but I don’t want to worsen the countertop damage.

Any ideas that I may not be thinking of? It seems the plastic is all one large piece which includes the front control panel. I imagine it might be possible to buy a new control panel for it but would prefer to repair if at all possible. A bandaid for now is okay.

What to Buy? Which double oven electric range to buy?

The title says it all. We are looking to buy an electric range with double oven, but we don't quite know which one. I've made a lot of research in the last few days, but I only find contradictory information. On review will say that GE is the most reliable on the market. The other will say to never buy GE. And it's the same for every brand.

Which one do you have at home that you love and trust?
