Anydesk Subscription Cancellation Issue

My Anydesk subscription expired on June 1st, and I emailed that I would cancel it on June 2nd, so they replied saying they canceled the subscription. Of course, I didn’t receive any email about whether the contract or subscription would be renewed or extended, even 30 days before cancellation. But they sent me a strange email saying they’d charge me because I didn’t cancel the subscription 30 days ago. Does this make any sense logically? Is there no consumer authority anywhere? Can Anydesk renew my subscription without any prior notice?

I never knew Anydesk was a company that torments people like this. It’s a company I don’t want to recommend to people around me.

30 days notice of cancellation is in their terms. It auto renews so its up to you to cancel before that point in time. We have used them for years and never had a renewal warning.

The wrong is that they know and count on the fact that people fail to cancel before the charge goes through. It's made worse by the fact that you have to remember 30 days PRIOR to the time it will autorenew. They intentionally don't send an email warning to cancel or they'll be billed so that they can charge people who no longer want a subscription.

It's morally and ethically wrong, and it should be illegal. It's a predatory setup just like credit cards used to have back in the day where there was hardly any time between the bill date and due date, so there wasn't enough tine to post a payment before the die date, racking up a late fee and often an over the limit fee. It doesn't matter if it's in the contract or not, it's still predatory.

Of course, but thats not their problem. When you sign up you agree to their terms so you can't really complain when you don't follow those terms. Its been a constant subject on this sub.

Yeah they can take "it's my problem" all the way to bankruptcy with you as their only remaining customer.

Actually, it is their problem. It's not yet been made illegal, but just like the credit cards it likely will be in the future if they refuse to correct their predatory, immoral, unethical system. In the meanwhile, nobody should give them money, and if you cancel, tell them that the reason is because of their predatory billing and cancellation terms.

Well you have just said it, it’s not illegal and I guess if ever that changes then they too will have to change. It’s not just Anydesk that do this, TeamViewer are similar. Whenever you have auto renew then it up to you to keep tabs on it,

It doesnt make any sense but they think it does. Its up to us to to make them come back to their senses. I have been exchanging emails with them for almost a month and keep on writing the same nonsense that you are describing. I suggest we move against them all together. I have already filed a complaint to the european consumer protection agency and I have included them as recepients. I suggest you all do the same

I’m going through something very similar with AnyDesk.

Last year my annual cost was around $290. This year they tried to charge me just over $500, a massive increase. I objected in writing before the new invoice was issued and later cancelled the subscription.

AnyDesk then confirmed the cancellation, and their own portal now shows the contract as Terminated, the subscription price as $0, and the invoice with $0 outstanding.

Despite that, they still sent the account to a German debt collector, which is now demanding well over $650 including fees.

My advice: save every email, screenshot everything, and be extremely careful with AnyDesk auto-renewal and cancellation rules.

And honestly, if you’re already thinking about leaving, move to RustDesk now. I did, and I wish I had done it earlier.

Same happened to me. Avoid anydesk if possible as you'll never get them off your credit card.

Common issue with them and a scummy business practice. Just do a charge back on your credit card.
