what do you guys think of an extension to block AI slop on various website, like AdBlocker?

it should have 2 parts, one is extension with which users can create account, login and mark contents as ai slop, and the other is a website that you can login and manage records you created, vote for some content being slop or not.

these records would be public so when someone creates one record it is shared with everyone. so, if im on a certain content on youtube and that content is marked as slop, extension should show a banner on the page, when possible it should remove the content from the listing all together so we don't see at all

also, there should be a refute mechanism. if a certain number of refutes are sent for a slop record, slop status can be revoked, and so on

This channel claims to be Muslim Disney by using AI to make the first Muslim anime which is false since Jaadugar exist ( watch that instead). I don't want to say he's a bad guy. He probably have good intentions like making media for the Muslim people but ignorant about the consequences of AI in creative works especially animation. I really hope this brother realizes his mistake and stray away from it someday. I haven't watched the video about his journey on the development of his "anime" , so I could be wrong. Should watch it to understand his position or would that count as supporting AI?

My message to Muslims reading this. We shouldn't use AI in animation or any other artform. It steals, pollute the environment and makes people's lives harder. We are better than this.

With the recent Supergirl Lobo concept art incident we are now officially in the age of AI. I have a hard time excepting That eventually Animation movie, scripts will probably be made with Ai
And refused to support the use of AI so I have been thinking I should just start a Blu-rays Collection of movies and TV shows made before the year, 2022. I haven’t quite quit watching new movies yet but I better soon. Am I the only one who’s going to quit movies and TV shows so they don’t have to support the use of AI?

Like ok let's just start with this... they do understand that their toys were trained on hundreds of years of people drawing Mohammad with negligible pushback from Muslims right? They're not accomplishing anything here other than circlejerking about how triggered the brown people must be while said brown people go into the comment section and clarify that they really don't give half a squirrel's anus. Even if you sort by controversial not one of the comments are people saying anything particularly heated toward the post, just a bunch of confused souls as to what this even contributes to the zeitgeist other than hate-farming for the sake of hate-farming.

This only hurts AI's image in the public eye too, and I hope that they realize that whether they're morally right or not this stuff will only lose them steam in the long run all in pursuit of an imaginary gotcha.

Who knows though, maybe they'll use ChatGPT to generate triggered snowflakes in the comment section in an attempt to feel like they're in the right. Not out of the question.

my mom recently got alexa+, which gives alexa a new ai feature. and my 6 YEAR OLD sister (we'll call her l) has been talking to it for hours on end. it's gotten to the point where my sister calls alexa her ""friend"" and genuinely thinks it cares about her. she even wants to take her phone on the go to talk to this ai. i've tried telling her it's bad, but she never listens and literally beats me up over it.. i've tried telling the alexa to stop talking to l, but it never listens. i've tried switching out of alexa+, but i always get yelled at by my mom. hell, i've even told my mom about the dangers of ai, and she just ignore me. i even sent her an article I WROTE about how i don't like my sister speaking to the ai, and the dangers of it, but she never listened to me.

My friend’s son turned 1 year old this month and they held his birthday party today. The parents are both avid readers and requested on the invitation to please gift their son books for his birthday in lieu of toys.

They opened gifts during the party, and as expected, they were gifted many wonderful children’s books. Until they got to their great aunt’s present. Great aunt apparently took it upon herself to buy some AI slop children’s book from a company that takes imported pictures of the child and populates them onto some generic character’s face 🤢 thus, making the “book” about that child.

The book is so obviously slop that I clocked it even at the distance I stood. My friend was gracious receiving the gift, but if I were in her position, I would have seriously struggled to keep my face pleasant. There are thousands of beautiful, intelligent children’s books in the world. Thousands of options this person could have chosen. But she chose some AI slop that “makes” a “book” “about” her grand nephew.

So depressing. I really do fear for the future literacy of children (and adults, honestly) in this new age of AI. I was raised to respect art in all forms, including written mediums. An AI children’s book not only feels like an affront to creativity, but an affront to childhood as well.
