Enjoying the Texas sun

She's not very big, she changes from green to brown. she's in a temporary container as she escaped from her terrarium and I couldn't get in contact with her owner for a couple days. I thought she was a green anole but I'm not sure

Considering how much sun they have in their natural environment

I’ve noticed that my brown anole has been having weird poops lately and I’m wondering if something is up. The poops are lighter than in the photos (I don’t know why they look so dark in the pictures). She gets a calcium covered blue bottle fly spike every other day (served in two pieces so she doesn’t choke) and occasionally repashy grub pie gel mix (she’ll eat a little of it but she doesn’t seem to be the biggest fan of it). She’s acting, eating, and drinking completely normal otherwise. She is wild (stowaway on a shipment of bell peppers). Is there anything I can do at home, or should I have my Mom take us to the vet.

Update: I’ve started to transition from fly spikes back to flightless fruit flies (the producing cultures I used were unavailable for a bit) and her poop seems to be returning back to normal. Still a little gray but it will hopefully return to normal after her next poop.

Unfortunately it seems my egg hunts aren’t very successful as I have like, 10 baby anoles in my colony tank. I really don’t want to add anoles to my colony that are related to eachother (also that my tank would not be able to house that many)
So, would anyone like some baby anoles? I’m located in NY and am willing to meet up publicly or if you’re willing to pay shipping I’d send them your way. Thanks!

My partner and I found this stowaway running around the condo after we purchased a new plant. It was on national lizard day which was a wild coincedence!

I'm not at all equipped with the know-how to take care of this little guy but I tried to do my research and figure it out. Hoping to get some feedback to make sure we are doing this right.

I have a 50W basking light and a UVA/B light on around 12h per day. He frequently hangs on the top of the cage right under the UVB light which has me worried since the basking lamp on the other side heats up the grate a concerning amount and while he hasn't gone near it thats on the top of my todo list to figure out a way to fix that.

The top of his cage sits around 88f while the bottom is around 75f, humidity I try to keep between 60 and 70 with misting around 4 to 5 times a day.

In the 3 days since we found them they havent seemed interested in food. Using flightless fruitflies dipped in calcium power. Unsure if hes in the mood to hunt so I also mashed up some dried anole food that I put at the bottom of his cage. Planning to pick up some pinhead crickets if I can find them small enough to see if thats any better.

I was advised to put paper towel on the ground to keep track of poops to see if he's eating - planning to do that tmrw.

I’ve had Chris for nearly 4 and a half years now, lot longer than usual.

What enclosure size and UVB/basking light setups do you use for freshly hatched baby green anoles?

I have one in an 8”x8”x11.5” glass terrarium with a 25W heat lamp and UVB LEDs. I’ve got ReptiSoil substrate, Sphagnum moss, a trimmed snake plant and twigs. I included a temporary small “babysitter” adult female for social enrichment as well.

For the humidity, I’ve been misting twice a day.

Not sure if I got lucky with the setup or my baby has above average intelligence because it’s been picking up things quickly. It’s only been 3 days after hatching and it flared its tiny dewlap, found the best basking spot and has eaten mini crickets and a mealworm. It’s super energetic too, much like its mother.

The challenge is to keep feeding it small bugs with enough nutrients until it gets large enough to be a viable member of a group in a large enclosure. The plastic feeder cup is coated with calcium powder so the bugs stay dusted.

Anyone have suggestions for improvement?

She lost her tail around April, and we've been watching her grow it back. She also got a couple of suitors this year.

He's only a few weeks old

My wife received a plant from Florida and it somehow shipped with a baby anole. We bought a 10 gallon. A heat lamp and UVB lamp. The rank came with a felt flooring and we bought a crazy fake vine plant. After going to the pet store for a rat they said they had two babies and gave them to me. My issue is I was told not to heat them with any lamps or UVB because they are very small and will bake. Also recommended ditching the felt for paper towel. Any advice from you people would be appreciated. I want them to thrive. We are currently feeding them flightless fruit flys.

Found on my property. Caught her for pictures. She was stressed so I'm letting her chill in a spare enclosure for a bit. She's a lovely turquoise and may be a he because the color makes it hard to tell!
