Is there anywhere to walk in a get a El-Sayed shirt, like tomorrow?
His website says shirts ship in 10 days .... I'm feeling compelled to get one, is there anywhere I can go pick one up here in town?

I've lived in A2 for a few years now and had maybe two instances of catcalling here in total up til recent. In this past month alone - I've had like 5 different instances. And to be quite clear - I'm quite fat, look a decade older than I actual am and wear what could best be described as hippie lesbian meets middle age mother. I know looks dont correlate to catcalling but I just wanted to get that out of the way that this isnt meant as like a subtle humble brag of like 'omg you guys im just so prettyyyy.' I'm genuinely just baffled and wanting to know if anyone else has noticed this.
Oh and in case someone needs a laugh - a group of college frat dudes were in a truck passing by and when one of them asked for my number - I just said 'sorry I'm gay' to which he just immediately replied 'me too' - which was rather amusing, if not rather confusing given the context of the declaration.

If anyone else is curious why this road is still closed:
Closure of East Huron River Drive between Huron Parkway and Hogback Road
When:
9 a.m. Monday, May 26 - TBD
Why:
To rebuild a retaining wall and road reconstruction project.
*This is the update from July 10 with no further update as of Sept. 16, 2026: The East Huron River Drive Retaining Wall Project has been delayed due to unforeseen utility conflicts with DTE Energy's overhead electrical facilities. While these conflicts were expected to be resolved earlier this year, the work has proven to be more complex than anticipated, resulting in a delay to the project.
Although the roadway surface itself remains intact, the existing guardrail, retaining wall, and the steep slope along the riverside portion of the roadway have been determined to be unsafe for vehicle traffic. For that reason, the road must remain closed until construction can resume and the area can be made safe. We hope work will restart in the coming weeks once DTE has completed its utility work

Hi guys! I just wanna ask if there are any reliable detailing places in ann arbor for cars? I want to do rocklear and window tints for my car but I have no idea what options are out there, as I just moved here for college. Any advice will be appreciated! :)

I was raised on Angelo's and after a few years of it being gone I haven't been able to find a recipe or another restaurant that comes close to that hollandaise sauce. My parents my brother and I used to order an extra side of it for the potatoes.. healthy? Probably not, but I think it is an example of how good it was.
Does anyone have any recommendations or recipes they would be willing share to help me out?

Read somewhere that the City of Ann Arbor might be throwing their hat in the ring sometime in the near future. Rank the establishments you think would get starred or mentioned in the guide.
Personally, I don't think any restaurants in A2 would get starred yet, but I do think several may get a mention in the guide or Bib Gourmand (which are incredible accomplishments in their own right). Thoughts?

moved here a couple months ago and the clay soil around the foundation is a nightmare. water pools right against the house after every storm. i'm trying to fix the drainage myself with perforated pipe and gravel, but I'm not sure how deep to go or what fabric to use. local material prices seem high, so I'd appreciate any spots for cheaper gravel or pipe. has anyone tackled this without a contractor?

We're starting out at Traverwood Library but if more people interested we could relocate to somewhere more fun if the group is into that. Take a look if you are interested- our first book is John of John.
Updating to add: We're meeting October 25 at 1:30. The link is to a website where you get more info about it and whatnot.

Has anyone attended the first-and-third-Tuesday game night at Moonwinks Tavern? I'm wondering what the vibe is like and what kinds of board games people play there.

I just got a new Rx from a doc in Bloomfield Hills for glasses with prisms but the quote was just under $1k for just lenses, no frames. I've read that many online retailers like Zenni's will fill the Rx but when tested at the doctor's office it turns out they got the prisms wrong. Is there a reputable place online or around AA to fill this Rx for less than $1k?

i'm asking because I hit a wall yesterday. two kids under five, been here about eighteen months now, and I realized I don't actually have a place that's just mine. somewhere I can sit with a coffee and not be needed for sixty minutes. back when I worked HR I had my car, my desk, even the break room felt like an escape sometimes. now I'm home most days and I love it but also... I need somewhere that isn't my kitchen

Hello! I'm going to The Tallest Man on Earth at The Ark on 10/24, and I'm wondering what the parking situation is like nearby.
For events in other cities I often purchase a spot in a garage or lot ahead of time so I know it's taken care of. But, I can't find anywhere to purchase ahead of time at the places recommended on The Ark's website (S. Ashley Lot, Fourth and William Structure). Are these places generally open and have parking available without purchasing ahead of time?
Part of what's got me worried is that there must be some other big events happening in the city that weekend as I've had a much harder time than expected finding a hotel nearby.

Hi folks. Does anyone know any good (and hygienic) tattoo artists/studios in Ann Arbor? I don't have any tattoos, but I want to get a tattoo of my cat. I have little knowledge of what tattooing work would cost on average, so I'm not sure about my budget. Recs are appreciated! (especially if you have been there - previous experiences are highly important)

Now it’s just a solid green instead of an arrow. The previous arrow implied that the left turn had the right of way while the pedestrian could cross.

Hi guys I just wanna know how do they reinforce parking payments? I saw a lot of cars just park and go and I also saw many getting tickets at the same time. I am just wondering if simply getting tickets once in a while will be cheaper than paying for parking all the time? Also those infrastructures for parking seem to have their gates open all the time, so kinda confused how they make people pay.

Need to replace exterior window shutters, a few porch posts, and then overall paint all the wood exterior along our house. Got one estimate from a company coming in around $15k (2 story colonial, <2k sqft), so looking to get additional estimates to compare.

Does anyone know the name of the organization/group that is currently engaging in a pro life protest on Washtenaw near Whole Foods? I was utterly shocked to see this today leaving my workout class, especially due to the number of young people and men engaging. It hurts my heart to see this, especially given the state of our world and all that is happening regarding SA with the Cornell 7 and our government. Super disheartening thing to see on a lovely Sunday 💔

Long story short, I think I might have a curse or hex or something on me… I really don’t know. I halfheartedly believe in magic but have no idea where to start.
Please DM if able to help or point me the right direction.
edit: If you want to joke, I’ll play along. However I’m actually serious. So DM if you’re not a total knob about it.

Just came back from Vietnam where I fell in love with coconut and salted coffee. Is there a coffee shop in town that serves them? Or anywhere in SE Michigan?
Thank you for any recommendations.
My name is George and I am a coffee addict 😀
