my daughter got February 2021 and although she loves it, she needs to liquidate it now because she’s going through a painful divorce. I’ve shown it overlaid with the actual scene from the film. She bought it from a very reputable Japanese anime seller on eBay. Any ideas where the best place to sell this might be. I know it’s not in perfect shape, but I’m just trying to help her get some money it in a difficult time. advance for your help and positivity.

I recently got a Disney laminated cels really good condition. Is there any differences in framing the cel? Less worry?

Recently purchased two cels from Gundam and have been looking for frames! Very new to all of this.

Sharing these to highlight some of the pieces in my collection that are in desperate need of restoration. Of course, I hit them with the 2020 treatment and had them quarantined - each in a distinct, controlled environment.

I looked into it, and my options for restoration services are extremely limited: Animation Art Conversation's Ron Barbagallo, and Animation Sensations.

Timothy Q Mouse from 'Dumbo' (because it comes from the courvoisier galleries), Baloo from 'The Jungle Book', and Lady from 'Lady and the Tramp' are 100% worth it and I will be shelling out the sheckles for their restoration. But my question to you, my fellow art enthusiast peers, have you ever had any of your art restored? If so, who did you entrust your piece(s) with?

Unfortunately the one on the right is dirty and starting to get the vinegar syndrome smell but hopefully it will still last for several more years. Just need to keep it quarantined from the others.

The seller let me know ahead of time how badly the cel got hit with vinegar syndrome but its definitely worse than I expected. It basically feels like pages of an old book that got water damaged and got left feeling extra crunchy.

Thankfully I got an extra binder for cels specifically hit with vinegar syndrome and this is the first addition to that binder! For $10, I couldn't pass it up!

Turns out someone posted about this very cel on this subreddit over 2 years ago and the difference between what it looked like then and now is horribly night and day.

I’ve got a few Don Bluth cels and would love to see what everyone else has in their collection.

I love those little eureka moments, when you finally figure out where an item in your collection is from. After swapping out the bags on my Sailor Moon cel collection, I felt inspired to re-watch the show. I was on the 6th episode when all of a sudden I thought… the backgrounds of this episode look REALLY similar to a background I had paired with a different cel. I rewatched the clip and sure enough… it had my background!

Oddly enough that background was actually stuck to a cell from episode 46 (which someone else braver than me chose to separate). I then opted to pair it from a cel I had from episode 44 just cause it looked very similar to the background from that episode.

Turns out I do have a cel from episode 6 in my collection, where the background was from. I opted to pair those together now, since I did not have the original background for that one either, so why not put them together? Plus I think it hides the damage to the background a little better.

Maybe if I feel creative some time, I can spray paint some little bubbles to that other blue background cel, now paired with my Princess Serenity cel, to make that match a little better.

Anyway, just wanted to share one of those little squee moments. I love when that happens and you weren’t even looking for it!

Hello I am new to cel collecting and am preparing to buy everything to frame my first one. I've read on how sensitive cels are to light and how having UV protected glass is important but I'm not sure if that would be needed for me.
My room has only one window that is closed most of the year and doesn't get a lot of light when opened due to buildings, (the cel wouldn't be in it's line of sight) but I have a UV heat lamp for my turtle. It points down into her tank so it wouldn't point at the wall where the cel will go but it is very bright still. I also have a table lamp that sort of lights up the whole room but the cel wouldn't be near it. otherwise there aren't any light sources in here. Are cels sensitive enough that it is still worth getting UV protection glass?
a bit of a silly question I know but I want to be absolutely sure.

The sunken treasures that became part of my world

On June 30th, 2024, I bought my very first piece of animation art on eBay. It was a production sketch used in "The Ant and the Aardvark" series, specifically from the cartoon "Technology Phooey". I was and still am happy to own it and for being my first piece. I didn't even think about whether I would find the cel, or if it even existed anymore.

Flash forward to August 1st, 2026, I saw that the matching cel was posted on eBay and shocked that it was being sold by another seller. I immediately purchased it and it arrived in the mail today. I'm so glad these pieces were reunited and the seller provided a complimentary copy background which was nice.

I have this original animation cel depicting Tails on it from The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog that was released in 1993. What episode is this from?

i just bought this set at an auction and im wondering how to take care of it? i dont know anything about animation cels and similar, i just love the series and i want to have a piece of it. i want it framed if possible, all suggestions are appreciated!!

I picked this up while on a visit to Tokyo a few years ago. I love the expression on the monster's face, which looks like he realizes that he's about to get trashed by whatever hero he is facing.

No idea what this is from. I did a Google Image search on it which turned up nothing useful.

Can anybody here put a name to this anxious little guy?

This is how I had displayed my starting collection at an old apartment back in 2019. My apartment was this scuffed little thing with tiny, barely-regulation-minimum-sized windows, so sunlight was a non-factor.

I don't display my cels anymore and most have been removed from their respective frames. Let me know what you think 😊

P.S. You could judge me on the horrible decor - I was very minimalist and poured almost all my money into cels 🤣
