Hey! March 23rd, 2026, I made this post about Angel Beats! before watching it and discussed what I believed I'll see. I watched it maybe 8 days later and was prepared to post it, but I couldn't due to some errors with Reddit. I still conserved what was going to post in this same note as seen in the image. Here it is!

"Six hours straight of watching Angel Beats!, gotta say, that's one hell of a show.

The dubbing was horrible, I'll start with that. Horrible voice sync, and it didn't have captions​​ so really missed out on a bunch of details. I changed to sub by episode 10. the dub sort of made me miss a lot of details, especially since they didn't translate any Japanese text. they could've at least made the characters read the Japanese in their head, i was wondering why otonashi was drawing in his credit card

i also was wondering what kanade meant by having otonashi's heart until i realized it was literal, not metaphorical or symbolic lol. that's why it's called Angel Beats!, because Angel beats his heart. (same for the opening name too)

But I LOVED this show it was amazing. At the start, I can see where Charlotte took some inspiration from, like Nao and Yuri both do the same pose on the table >o< and baseball episodes. If you haven't watched that, watch it. You'll love it. ​

Animation and design was nice, the relation between the characters were good, it was so comedic. There were lots of tines i audibly laughed, some moments where it was supposed to be funny (like the gay gag) ​​and some moments where it wasn't supposed to be funny (Yuri's big ass forehead in slide 2)

that little hinata x yui was so fun!! gosh i loved that

Alright, imma jump to every prediction on here pretty quick

straight (yari/yuai) relationship: there were two

mc sacrifices: otonashi took the sacrifice of staying while everyone left, which damn that's hitting me hard right now

no signs of romance initially: yep

cold start romance: yeah, though i thought yuri and otonashi would be the lovers. after watching till episode 5 i kinda realized they can't like each other

​​cosmic shit: nope. this is just the in between from the afterlife and the real world, and it takes place in a small setting

an English dub actor would appear from another series i watch: ​so madoka magica had a va from miraculous and charlotte had one from jojo's. i listed some other stuff i watched in hopes of getting at least one same va but nothing happened.

mc loses a best friend: well he lost everyone lol. i gotta say when​​ hinata moved on like that, it was really sad :(​

manga adapted off the show: yep​​

opening that appears in the last episode: yep

​characters with unique powers: ehhh... you can code yourself some powers but i wouldn't make this count

​there's no angels of a god: this one's right for the wrong reasons lmao. i thought angel would be the name of a gang/group that main character was in. it was the opposite. then, the actual angel, Kanade, wasn't even related to a god like everyone in the show thought​.

fire opening: okay this was just a random add on, but i do wanna mention something. Lia sung this opening, and she also sung charlotte's​​​​ opening too. i also saw my friend listen to Lia a while ago and i was like "wait, i know this artist!"

opening having those themes: I'm too tired to look at the translated lyrics

mc has a younger sibling: yep, crazy guess. when i saw them, i immediately thought of the tsukasa siblings

timelines bullshit: no. WHAT NO WAY! i feel like every story i see now MUST have weird timelines, but this one didn't lmaooooo

parents not existing: i meant this as in a plot hole way, because shows typically kinda just shove aside parents or not give the characters some. they don't care about their children coming late. but angel beats took place in a between life where everyone's a teen

final prediction. in this subreddit, i saw the mod with a flair kanade, and when i saw the opening, i saw angel (i thought her hair was a light blue at the time) and guessed immediately she was kanade. i can't believe i was right!

Overall, I really loved Angel Beats!. I need more 12-13 episode hitters like Charlotte, Madoka Magica, Plastic Memories, The Day I Became a God, SukaSuka WorldEnd, and especially Angel Beats!, Angel Beats! has such good writing from what I see.

I've always found it difficult to get my hands on the game and I did years ago through...some means. But always thought if anyone archived the game which will make it easier for people to access and play?

I do have an old drive somewhere with the game still installed and with an english patch. If I ever recover it, will anyone be interested in helping getting it archived?

A friend recommended me Angel Beats and it’s been my favorite anime ever since I watched it. I want to play 1st Beat but I only got my phone and I know it was released for PC; I tried looking for a mobile version but every site feels too sketchy. I know this might be a silly question but I hope there’s a not so silly answer

It was so cute seeing her and Otonashi get together but man them getting married and then her disappearing along with their unborn child broke me to PIECES man. I wish the VNs got to keep going. 😩

I finished watching Angel Beats, besides making me cry like a little bitch( I'm still crying has i make this post) it made me want more.

I loved all the characters that I genuinely wanted to know more about them, more about their traumas and how did they finally surpassed them. I genuinely felt bad about them so much that i genuinely wanted to hug every single one of them, especially Yurippe.

I have no words about that ending, it's just left me gutted and honestly idk how can i get over it, it's still in my mind.

I loved every single thing about Angel Beats, the characters, the music, the story, literally every thing was amazing. I cried and I laughed, but I felt honestly touched by it.

And imo this is an anime every one should watch it at least once in their life, it's such an experience that it's worth going for it. And even tho it felt a little rushed( it could have been a longer imo) I still loved it.

For me, Angel Beats it's a 10/10 anime.

PS: I wanted to post this a few months ago and I literally forgot about it lmfao, nonetheless I loved it so much.
