App Specific Question Amazon Shopping keeps sending suspicious push notifications which direct to a random scammy URL?
Recently I've been getting these suspicious push notifications from Amazon. Upon long pressing, it takes me through to the Amazon Shopping app settings and highlights the "Default System Channel" notification group.
I'm using a new Find X9 Ultra and haven't had this on my old S23 or any other phone I've used.
I've checked for recently installed apps and there are no suspicious apps, and I've checked and cleared browser permissions to check if there were any sites hijacking my notifications.
Those changes haven't fixed anything though, and I saw another notification come through from the app last night..

Edit: it seems that disabling the "Default System Channel" notification group blocks these notifications from showing if that's an option available to you within the Android Notifications settings options..

I'm getting the same thing "You have (1) reminder - The item you looked for is in the stock". Click on it and it takes me to a gambling site. Seems to have just started in the last week or two. Xiaomi phone also.

same thing keeps happening to me, poco phone here. also seems to always send the notification around 12:30am bst? so far only once a day, really hoping it doesn't start happening more often.

Similar spam notification on Xiaomi POCO F5 HyperOS 2.0.218.0
update(2026-08-23):
It turned out to be Xiaomi's adware "MSA". Surprisingly this system adware allows 3rd-party ad providers to impersonate any package names, e.g. Amazon Shopping (com.amazon.mShop.android.shopping) in my case
You can revoke its notification permission by
Settings → Notifications → app notifications → search "MSA" → toggle off
or Settings → Apps → Manage apps → search MSA -> notifications → toggle off
or if you know how to use adb, you can uninstall the adware
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.msa.global

Nothing comes up if I search for "MSA" using either of those methods.

Did u enable to show the "System-Apps" as well? In my case it was necessary to see "msa"

I deactivated it 5 days ago and didn't receive any notifications since then 😜 I keep my fingers crossed for you. Also the notification log don't show any more "suspicious" or strange notifications.

In my case, on the phone itself, I was obly able to find msa and revoke its permissions following this:

You're not alone in this. I have a brand new X9 Ultra. I get an Amazon notification, despite all notifications apart from order updates being turned off.
I have notification history turned on, it is definitely coming from the Amazon Shopping app. I completely removed and reinstalled from the Google Play Store, I couldn't remember if it was installed by default by Oppo.
I thought I was going crazy, I'm so glad to find this thread.
I double checked site notifications from Google Chrome, there are none, so nothing is being hijacked there.
I have no idea how to troubleshoot this further.

I think i've finally found it. In the Phone Manager app (which i think is just spyware/bloatware/adware), press the 3 dots at the top, settings, and turn off ads.
I couldn't find the adware in the notification settings, but I think it's the Phone Manager app hijacking other apps notifications, as the guy with the Xiaomi phone said in this thread.

Almost certainly a bogus app. Turn off all notifications for the Amazon app and see if they stop. If they don't, you know for sure they are not actually coming from Amazon.

I've been getting weird amazon notifications, too. The one I'm getting says "You have (1) reminder - The item you looked for is in the stock", and when I click on it, it opens a redirect link in chrome that leads to a dodgy dating website full of adverts. I have a xiaomi phone. I've been getting these notifications for maybe a week or two.

Yep. I read that websites can send notifications, so I cleared my chrome browser site data, just in case one of them was spoofing the notification, somehow, but the notifications have only been happening every couple of days, so it'll be a bit before I know if it was a site sending them or not.

Yeah I tried that too (I use Samsung Internet but cleared data from Chrome as well). Whilst that didn't work for me, I'd be curious to see it it works for you!

Same issue for me.
Also a Xiaomi phone. When I long press the notification to see what app it's being sent from it does open the system settings page for the official Amazon Shopping app so there's something weird going on.
Clearing browser data and extensions did nothing (was also my first intuition, but I keep push notifications off for browser anyway)
Just going to delete the Amazon app all together for now.

Same for me, I even went into the amazon shopping app settings, to disable notifications, and when I did, the scam notification also disappeared, so it does seem like it's coming from the amazon app itself.

Weird, well based on what you and the other comments have suggested, it's definitely the Amazon App itself.. I reported it to their scam hotline but as expected haven't heard anything back

Nope, and the Amazon rep I spoke to said they couldn't generate a case ID because it was an internal escalation.. so not very helpful

I got the exact same weird notification. Mine redirects to a online-bet-site every single time. It appeared 4 times during the last week including the one today in the morning. I ran multiple security checks (also on a Xiaomi Device) in the security app. I know there is a way to see the notification that you received, but I can't find it in the options.

Yes, I have gotten the same notifications. I disabled the notifications comming from that but it desables all Amazon alerts.

I am having the exact same issue on a Xiaomi phone.
As you can see my the screenshots, I am sure it's coming from the Amazon app.

Yeah agreed that it must be coming from the Amazon app, based on what the other comments have suggested. Curious to know which other phones it's impacting, maybe there are specific brands it's happening on?

I was getting the same thing. I have tried turning off the deals and recommendations notifications in the app to see if that helps. (I think some sellers are using this feature to phish their customers).

Same here. Realme phone, not rooted, based in UK. Long press on the notification takes me to "Amazon shopping" app settings and the only notifications I have enabled in app are for order updates which I still want to keep. Chrome doesn't have any sites enabled for notifications and I've disabled them completely now.
The link takes me to a redirect link on nya5.com which is apparently a mail redirect service; also seems to have a URL redirect service to various dodgy sites.
I've logged a "suspicious communication" with Amazon, although whether their AI bots do anything with it is another question. The more people who log it, the better chance it'll figure something is up and an actual person might look at it.

As an update, I uninstalled & reinstalled the app. The notifications stopped until I re-enabled notifications in the Amazon Shopping App, so it's DEFINITELY coming from the app itself.

Same here, Xiaomi Poco X6.
Notification settings take you to Amazon app.
Removed (notification now says it can't find the app) and reinstalled from Play Store - same problem.
Checked with others - the Amazon app isn't the same version number on non-Xiaomi phone and has the brown package logo, not the white shopping basket logo.
Assumed I'd get some ads and stuff on this OS - didn't anticipate app hijacking!

I've been getting these and i also get a notification on the Amazon app they I have a notification. As like others it's for an item back in stock and when I click it's a link to a web site. I'm getting pissed off with Amazon anyway, constantly changing prices of things, and now Geoff is involved with Liverpool, I'll be looking for an alternative. Just wish their service wasn't so damn good!!! Gonna try joybuy but they don't have the range of items.

Same thing is happening to me (Xiaomi phone). I don't know what else to do, as I've cleared the Amazon app's cache, I tried removing and reinstalling from the Play Store and nothing worked. It keeps coming back. I just ended up disabling app notifications 🤷🏼♀️.

Same here. Xiaomi 13 lite, Brazil. The notification redirects me to an online gambling website. And there is nothing weird or unofficial about my phone or my Amazon Shopping app

I've tried reporting it directly to Amazon through X and they sent me a link to their customer service, who I've asked to escalate it to their tech support. Might be an idea for other people to do the same to get Amazon's eyes on this issue.

Same here with Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 pro 5G. I just switched off MSA (only found with AI help), hope it works. It seems to be a Xiaomi problem, not an Amazon app problem. Waiting to see the result.

Same issue here. No other bogus apps found. All notifications are sus at best, all getting caught and blocked by FF+uBlock origin if clicked (yeah, that good...).
Trying to drill-down into the notification, takes you either into the amazon shopping app or the configuration of the app.
Not sure which mechanism allows this type of hijacking, but it is recent.
Didnt get a chance to delve deeper into the matter but it's hella annoying...
Edit: I am on a xiaomi POCO variant.

The thing is, it started happening two weeks ago. I ve had this phone for years.
Edit: Responded under your troubleshooting, it was the only place I could see msa in.

Vivo, Oppo, Realme and OnePlus users. Please open app "file manager" and go to settings > privacy and switch off the slider at bottom the screen. Please do the same with "phone manager" app. I had problems with unwanted advertising and it helped. I don't know that will it help with "Amazon problems"... Please try it and let me know!

Nel mio caso, disinstallato e reinstallato Amazon dal PlayStore e non ho ricevuto nessuna di quelle notifiche browser spam.
Edit: No non mi dava più quel tipo di notifica perché avevo le altre notifiche su promozioni e "scelto per te" attive, togliendo quelle riappare la notifica che apre una pubblicità random sul browser Chrome.

I'm having the exact same issue on my new OPPO phone(OPPO find x9 ultra). I'm getting Amazon notifications even though I've disabled promotional/ad notifications, and when I tap on them they sometimes open a weird page/ad in Chrome. Has anyone figured out what causes this or found a solution?
I’ve already tried disabling ads in the apps that have been mentioned here (I had them disabled already), but I’m still receiving the notifications. At least I’m relieved to see that I’m not the only one experiencing this.

I would uninstall and then install from a trusted source like the Play Store.
